Malkin Update on 9/11 Fund Scandal by NJ Democrats
As a follow-up to my posting on this subject a few days ago, NJ Democrats Manipulated Post-9/11 Security, Michelle Malkin has an awesome column about the Democrats’ 9/11 Slush Fund.
For the past four years, Democrats have ceaselessly attacked Republicans for “exploiting” the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
When President Bush showed his support for rescue workers at Ground Zero, Democrats cried “exploitation!”
When the Bush administration launched a long-overdue global war on terror, Democrats cried “exploitation!”
When Bush signed the Patriot Act, Democrats cried “exploitation!”
When Republicans held their national convention in New York City last year, Democrats cried “exploitation!”
And when Karl Rove gave a speech to New York conservatives pointing out the Democrats’ passive counterterror strategy, Democrats cried “exploitation!”
But when an investigative reporter exposes Democrats raiding federal homeland security grants and turning 9/11 money into a party slush fund, where, oh where, are all the indignant liberal watchdogs to protest such clear and unconscionable political exploitation?

Waiting by the fax machine for the DNC to tell them how they’re supposed to spin the story.

Good lord man……….first off you refer to the Patriot Act as a good thing. Have you read even the synopsis of the renewal this year? I shudder to think what’s going to happen with it. In the first Patriot Act, a secret court(not so secret now) was set up with the sole purpose of granting search and seizure warrants to whoever in the law enforcement community wanted it, for whatever they wanted. Now they’ve taken it a step further, putting a provision that allows search and seizures without a warrant. Bad enough, but the entire point is so that there will be no record of the searches, and as such no possible political retribution. My uncle is a Democratic State Senator, an extremely honest and moderate man, albeit a little brash with his words. He has been searched twice in the last month by Fatherland Security officials for “possible terror related activities.” First off this is hilarious, because this guy is as white as any TN good ole’ boy could get, and also because he had only a year or two ago exposed the Republican governor using state funded moneys to develop an area where he had significant real estate, all in the name of personal profit. So don’t you EVER tell me the Patriot Act is a good thing……there has not been one actual attack foiled since 9/11……and do you want to know why? Because the terrorists have achieved their goal, which was to destroy freedom and democracy in the United States. In my opinion, as heinous and terrible as their crimes were, not only did they work in destroying freedom, but they have brought out the evil in us in terms of our false retribution on Iraq, where estimates are ranging(conservatively) from 17,000-25,000 civilian deaths……over 55% of which have been caused by us. A little over the top, don’t you think? As Ben Franklin said it, “anyone willing to trade liberty for security deserves neither.”

False retribution? What was false?
Saddam has supported terrorists for years. Does Abu Nidal ring any bells? He routinely paid 25,000 to the families of terrorist mass murderers, of does that not count for you because they were only “joos”?
Saddam operated the Salman Pak terrorist training center
Saddam supported the first WTC bombing
Saddam had used WMD against Iran and the Kurds
Saddam had sought uranium in Niger. Fortunately Nigerian officials denied it to him because Iraq was still under UN sanctions.
Saddam had bribed or bought the Oil for Palaces officials
Saddam had tried to assassinate a former US president
Not too much imagination is required to see that Saddam would have been pleased to provide chemical weapons to his terrorist friends. That could have made 9/11 look like a paper cut at a clambake.
We are well rid of him. Saddam’s record of civilan deaths are far more than the largest attributed to our actions.
As for liberty: so long as we have our guns, we can get that back. The thing to fear in this country is Democrats who will disarm us from our foreign foes, as they misuse the government to protect from the internal dissent.
