According to Pajamas Media (of which this blog is a member), one of my favorite talk show hosts, the author of two smart books (The Death of Right and Wrong & The New Thought Police) and a third on the way, Tammy Bruce, a lesbian and former president of the National Organization for Women’s L.A. chapter, officially launched her blog today. While she remains a pro-choice liberal, she frequently finds herself at odds with the left today because of what she calls its “malignant narcissism.”
I enjoy listening to Tammy’s show Saturday afternoons on Talk Radio 790 KABC and welcome her voice to the growing chorus of gay & lesbian bloggers challenging the left-wing orthodoxy which all too often defines our community.
I’ll be keeping an eye on her blog and encourage all GayPatriot readers to do the same.

Tammy Bruce rocks!! I am straight, but if I wasn’t she is someone I’d go for!
you go girl!!!
Though she entirely misses the point about drug warnings. She is astounded that the FDA, that is supposed to test drugs *before* they are released, should possibly suggest that children taking the drugs be “closely monitored” when the drug is started and when the dosage changes.
What does she suggest we do? Give our kids meds and *ignore* them because, after all, the FDA says the drug is safe? All drugs have potential side effects. Anyone taking medication should be monitoring him or herself (or be monitored by a parent!) in case they get the side effects. Anyone who gives over that responsibility to the FDA or doctor is an idiot. Or worse, if it concerns their child.
No, seriously, color me unimpressed. *Deeply* unimpressed.
I have been waiting for this day. I could have foretold the demise of Mr. DeLay in 1998.
I happen to know that he BOUGHT his position, so what goes around comes around, in this case it took quite awhile.
Adding to Synova’s comment, the rate of suicidal thoughts is a whopping 0.4%??? Why does no one in this country understand risk assesment? Why does no one understand that all drugs have side effects, both pronounced and subtle??? And how does that percentage of documented psychological anomalies compair with other drugs used to treat ADHD such as ritalin? Weren’t the Columbine “twins” on ritalin?
PS. I do love Tammy Bruce though.
In another part of the blogosphere… I broke the Large Mammal barrier on TTLB today. I owe it all to ignoring monty’s advice on what people should post on their blogs.
Tammy Bruce’s books are most stimulating. I just think she ab fab.
Thanks for this tip! I’ve only listened to Tammy Bruce to a limited degree. I tend to listen to KRLA 870; but caught her substitute hosting for some other talk show on 790 and she was excellent! This was during election year, and she was very articulate, describing herself as a classic liberal democrat and making the case for war and why it was important to support this President.
No. 6, you actually have your own blog? What for?
Yeah, I’ve read her book “The Death of Right and Wrong”. She does engage in sweeping generalizations at times, but overall the book’s contents resonated with me and I definitely recommend it.
I’ve never read her….but I’ll give it a try.
Monty, you’ll find it’s well worth your while. And give her radio show a listen if it’s broadcast in your area.
Tammy Bruce is THE bomb! A former liberal Lesbian who now sees the errors of her ways…just my kinda grrl. I highly recommend “The Death of Right and Wrong” to anybody who’s confused about the difference between the two.
“Monty”/”monty”: I’m encouraged to know that you can read. Sticking your head in a book would be a nice change from your usual idiotic, profanity-laced postings.
Oh, you mean the ugly ones you posted under my name in the Romper thread? That will remain one of the sickest things I’ve ever seen.
This will be the last time I acknowledge you…..as I scrape you off the bottom of my shoe.
🙂
Okay… I read the Blog Nice site I found and I bookmarked the site… Plan on coming back later to spend a little time there.
