Mondays Stink

I’m sorry I haven’t written this morning so far…. just not having a great day. I’ve had a herniated disc problem in my neck for about 15 years. Physicial therapy and massage therapy have helped until the past week. Now I’m in the same kind of pain I was in about 7 years ago when I seriously considered bone fusion therapy. I’m not going that way again, but I am going to a chiropractor again….. they are covered by my insurance!

Anyway, my neck and upper shoulders are in a lot of pain and all the muscles are very tense. So as you can imagine, typing on the computer ain’t no fun. Plus, I’m about to leave for the rest of the week for a business trip. Slogging through airports…. and waiting…. is also not something I’m looking forward to.

So, I’m hoping some of you will give me some inspiration to write. Or, more preferably, if you would like to act as a “guestblogger” this week, please feel free to email me your draft postings.

That’s not to say if the mood strikes me this week that I may still not opine about the state of the universe. But I’m eager to have some of you write this week as well.

  1. Of all the Mugly Others (I remember that from some children’s book) I hope Malcon or Chad step up.

  2. Sorry to hear about your pain. I hope you feel better soon.

I was going to make a tongue-in-cheek comment insinuating that your discomfort was related to some kind of S&M bondage scenario, but I decided that would just be unlike me.

  3. I think to show solidarity with our Canadian neighbo[u]rs, Bruce, you should hold off on any sort of therapy for about 9 months. That way, when you’re feeling better you can talk all about how great socialized medicine is! ;-)
Hope you feel better soon…perhaps I can come up with something for you again.

  4. Don’t worry, Bruce.
You’re comfort is the most important thing. Take a load off and get comfy. We’ll manage for a bit.

  5. Hope you feel much better as soon as practicable. It’s no fun being laid up when the LibLefties keep batting easy pop-ups short into right field. It’s a shame to let ‘em go.

  6. Hey Bruce,

A friend just told me about your blog. I had to chime in on this one. Regarding pain relief, you might try to find an accupuncturist who can give you shots of calcium & B12 in the adjacent muscles. I was in a car accident, suffering badly 2 years later, and found someone who did this. For me it’s the difference between being bedridden or actually living. I still need chiropractic adjustments, but I’m not in pain. Please call around, even if you have to travel, it’s once a month for 3-4 months and really worth it. Hope this helps.
