Even if our American gay “rights” organizations are too busy with being fronts for the Democratic Party agenda, we can do our part to stop this from happening again.
We Support the Iranian Gay and Lesbian Community
We the undersigned declare that:
1. Iranian gay men and lesbians are suffering persecution in Iran and we demand that they be granted freedom and legal protection by the ruling government;
2. Iranian gay men and lesbians live under a homophobic regime in Iran;
3. According to the Islamic penal code, homosexuality is punishable by lashing, torture, harassment, persecution, and death;
4. Iranian gay men and lesbians have no legal rights in their home country and deserve the legal and political protection of outside governments and organizations;
By signing this petition, we state our support for the freedom and legal protection of gays and lesbians in Iran.
“being fronts for the Democratic Party agenda”
Blah blah blah, still going on about your little conspiracies because you’re more afraid of a terrorist popping in through your front door than being treated like a normal person under the law? Why is it ok to fire someone because they’re gay(yes, it is) but not because of their religion, race, gender, or age?
But you’re more worried about Saddam and Osama busting in your front door with the rest of the boogeymen. Please, you’re not a conservative, you’re not a patriot, you’re just a republican pawn who doesn’t have a clue.
Conservatism isn’t massive government spending, it isn’t going to war when the country isn’t backing you(see: previous wars), it isn’t having a bunch of no-bid contracts given to your buddies. Conservatism is about tax cuts, fiscal solvency, cutting spending programs, not $200 million for a bridge in Cali, and not blaming everything on the “Democratic Agenda” or “Liberal Agenda”. There’s something about controlling 2 branches of government for 5 years and still crying because nothing is going right.
Get a clue, grow up dude. Seriously.
Yes, it’s bad what’s happened in Iran, but our local Gay Rights Organizations are focused on this country. Start an organization dedicated to bringing peace around the world and go from there. Or, is all you can do is go to some petitiononline.com bullcrap because anything else is just too much effort for you?
Or why doesn’t your Republican Party, the Party of Peace, Freedom, and Democracy(TM) go and help the gays in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Africa, and other parts of the world? Or is that, again, too much. You claim Iraq was to bring freedom, but that’s just a side effect, otherwise we would have invaded other places in the world with far more corruption and despotism.
I do care, but anything on petitiononline.com is a joke, a “feel good do nothing” way.
It’s amazin how our local Gay Paper, the Liberal Front to the Democratic Media Newspaper and Television Control Conspiracy put an article of the Gays in Iran on the front page. It’s amazing. Wow. Proves you know nothing dude. Sorry. Grow up, get a life, join the Log Cabins if you wanna stay Republican, that’s cool, but don’t be an idiot about it. Just because you’re on the net, doesn’t mean you have to be an uninformed idiot who posts in some self-masturabatory way. I understand living in DC you get fed up with Liberals(I couldn’t stand it personally), come down here to Texas and you’ll look at the Republicans with a very negative eye.
Pure hypocrisy, Joey.
You and the gay “rights” organization were calling people who were openly in favor of stripping gays of rights via state constitutional amendment last year “pro-gay” and “gay-supportive” and giving them millions of dollars, while dropping pennies to the campaigns AGAINST said amendments. Heck, last year Joe Solmonese, as head of EMILY’S List, gave over $300k to a candidate who supported the FMA, and said that people who criticized him for doing it were “missing the big picture”.
And, from my own standpoint, without Republican support, Dallas and Fort Worth wouldn’t have two of the most-progressive nondiscrimination ordinances in the country, multiple past and present gay City Council members, and the country’s first out lesbian county sheriff.
GP is dead-on when he points out that our gay “rights” groups have nothing to do with gay rights and everything to do with shilling (I think “whoring” may be more appropriate) for the Democratic Party.
This is as productive as a petition to have 1850’s Alabamans free their slaves. As if!
I’m happy to sign the petition. Can I count on George W. Bush to do so as well?

So much for the GOP moral compass.
….and also let’s tell the Iranians to stay out of Iraq, they have no business meddling in another sovereign nation’s polici…. Uh, scratch that….
GP – If these organizations signed onto this, we know you would be bitching that they aren’t focused on their agenda of securing equal rights at home.
Where is the moral compass of a gay man who won’t sign a petiton supporting Iranian gays who face death because:
A – Republicans are evil and this is suggested by a Republican
B – President Bush hasn’t signed it
C – It won’t instantly make their life all better
D – US foreign policy is bad so to hell with those Iranian gays. I have to make a cheap political point.
E – Our groups MUST focus 100% on gay rights here and not waste any time on a bunch of pathetic Persians who I wouldn’t be caught dead being seen with anyway.
F – All of the above and bring me another cocktail waiter!
Pretty sad if you ask me.

“BS. I lived in and came out in Houston.”
Houston is the biggest city in Texas and the 4th largest in the U.S. , maybe that’s why gay people are more accepted.
I can only imagine what it must be like for a gay person living in a small/rural town in Texas. Maybe that’s what Joey was referring to in post #1.
P.S. the current mayor of Houston is a Democrat, the previous mayor before him was also a Democat. What I’m saying is we’re not all republicans down here in Texas.
An Iranian American was tasered for no reason at UCLA earlier today for no reason.
Please go here and support him
