US HOUSE VOTES 403-3 TO KEEP FREEDOM ALIVE IN IRAQ

November 18, 2005 by GayPatriot

US Armed Forces on the ground in Iraq were given a strong bi-partisan show of support late Friday evening when the United States House of Representatives.

By a vote of 403-3, the House voted overwhelmingly to reject a resolution calling on the immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. (Link to roll call of vote) Republican leaders agreed to the quick vote after world headlines, including this one posted on al-Jazeera, touted a proposal offered yesterday by leading Democrat Jack Murtha to bring the troops home immediately.

Democrats turned their backs 180-degrees after months of party-sanctioned sniping and name-calling of the Commander-in-Chief and joined Republicans in this show of support for the brave men and women defending the fledgling democracy in Iraq. It was a stunning turnaround for Democrats.

Left wing lunatics were immediately confused as shown by this comment from Americablog.com:

Why did all the Dems vote against withdrawal?
Hornet | 11.18.05 – 11:30 pm

Voting for immediate withdrawal were three lone Democrats:

Cynthia McKinney – (D-GA)
Robert Wexler – (D-FL)
Jose Serrano – (D-NY)

Not having the brass tacks to take any side at all and voting “Present” were six lone Democrats:

Michael Capuano – (D-MA)
Jim McDermott – (D-WA)
, who despite voting “Present” gave a one-minute speech after the vote about withdrawing troops from “Iran”
Maurice Hinchey – (D-NY)
Wm. Lacy Clay – (D-MO)
Jerrold Nadler – (D-NY)
Major Owens – (D-NY)

The debate was fantastic and long overdue. The Democrats whined and complained about being attacked, while the Republicans voiced support for the troops and winning the global war on terror. That says volumes.

Not only did the Democrats lose face, they just lost their base. The anti-liberation movement was just tossed in the trash bin of history. Let’s see just how much money George Soros spends on Moveon.org helping United for Genocidal Peace and Justice for Dictators promote Marxist Communism disguised as ‘peace’.

Hello Gay Patriot! Wow, I’m impressed you recognized my voice. I miss you already, I had three martinis at the party (gin, of course) and am sorry not to give a hug goodbye. When find yourself back in the Big Apple please let me know so I can give a double dose of gratitude for your most excellent fight in defending liberty and justice for all free people. Words are sometimes mightier than the sword and you are one of many fine soldiers whose words defend freedom against the propaganda of totalitarian tyranny.

Jose Serrano — Isn’t he the Castro-loving open Stalinist from NYC? And Bernie Sanders (Communist – Vermont) voted against it? Oh, yeah, that’s right. BS is running for Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords’ senate seat. I guess he has to appear to be a moderate communist.

You guys have gone completely over the edge in blind unwavering pursuit of partisanship. And it’s going to lead you right over the edge of a cliff. Arrogance has always been the traditional downfall of whatever party is in power. This is no different. Congratulations Democ-… Oh wait, thats right, you are Republicans. I can’t tell the difference anymore. It’s all one great big Dean-scream of noise coming out DC. Only the GOP has now joined the chorus. It’s an ugly sound.

Oh no! I guess I’m their base. This is kinda like “Duh” and only the neocon blogs are bitching about it(I almost said conservative! HA! Not here!). Cutting and pulling out isn’t going to do any good, but that doesn’t justify going there in the first place.

Are you so blind and dumb, Joey, that you can’t see the contradiction in your own statements?

    I shall demonstrate.

First, “Pulling out isn’t going to do any good” – let’s simply rephrase that into its inevitable positive corollary, “Staying would accomplish a net good”.

(Because if the statement “Pulling out is not going to be good” isn’t intended to convey that we ought to stay, thus accomplishing a net good, the statement has no humanly recognizable meaning.)

Next, “but that doesn’t justify going there in the first place” – let’s rephrase that into its obvious present-time meaning, “We are unjustified in being there.”

(Because if the statement “We weren’t justified going there in the first place” does not mean, or is not a way of saying, “We are unjustified in being there”, the statement has no humanly recognizable meaning.)

Finally, juxtapose “Staying would accomplish a net good” with “We are unjustified in being there.”

The contradiction should be obvious. If we are really unjustified in being there, how can being there possibly accomplish any good; much less a net good, such that pulling out would be bad?

Once again, a typical Democrat (Joey) tries to have his cake and eat it, too.

Saying “I don’t favor a pullout”, while saying everything else possible to demoralize, or to create a sense of sin or “corruptness” in our being there, thus causing or implicitly requiring an immediate pullout.

#9: — Need I remind you, Griffy, that I alone have probably made more critcisms of Bush and Republicans than you, Mr. Moderate, Kevin, Queer and Pussy, GBC, and Joey combined have made of Democrats.

And, I ask out of curiosity, did you call it arrogance a couple of weeks ago when the Democrats shut down the senate for the sake of a hissy fit?

Just a reminder, I am still predicting that troop levels will be substatially lower than the current 150,000+ by this time next year, probably down to 100-110,000. We increased troop levels in preparation for the elections, and so should be able to withdraw 10-20,000 in the first quarter of 2006. As more Iraqi forces come on-line, we can continue to withdraw troops throughout the year, probably including (at the request of the new, democratic Iraqi government) a complete withdrawal from the Green Zone in Central Baghdad.

And although the MSM and the hardcore left (but I repeat myself) won’t protray it this way, it’s a win-win for Bush. He pulls troops out, but he pulls them out in victory, not in defeat the way the Democrats want.

Now can we have a resolution demanding that the liberals pull out of the hated USA to their own little Neo socialist island somewhere where there is no pesky truth, constitution or opposing points of view to get in their way?

Hey! Maybe they’ll be happy for a change, if that’s possible.

It seems to me that the Dems have a problem with what active duty Marines think about their policies. What else is new? The soldiers and Marines who actually are in harms way are overwhelmingly conservative/Republican and support what we are accomplishing in Iraq. If “Mother” Sheehan has the moral authority to have what she says be taken seriously, then this Marine has tthat same authority x 10. Sorry Pussy, Chandler, et al. The Marine said it, it’s the truth and that settles it.

The lefty nitwits of GP are playing the familiar game of deflecting attention from the substance of debate and onto the resume of who said it. I wouldn’t care if Murtha had personally rescued 10,000 nuns, orphans, and puppies and was made a paraplegic as a result. What he was advocating was the immediate and unconditional surrender of our troops to our terrorist enemies. And that is a cowardly position.
