PJM had a series of bloggers covering the Iraqi elections today, including one of my favorites, IraqTheModel.

Full summary at Pajamas Media here.

UPDATE (from GPW): Meanwhile, fellow Bear Flag League blogger Socalpundit observes that liberal blogs choose silence on Iraq elections.

UP-UPDATE (from GPW): Seems the editorial page of the NYTimes is also ignoring these historic elections. (H/t: Instapundit).

My prayers are with the brave men and women voting today in Iraq. Today will be marked by history as the turning point against the forces of Islamic extremism. And the day is important not because of a speech, a battle or a photo op…but because freedom will be exercised by a previously oppressed people.

We have a lot to be proud of here is the USA for our role in making today a reality. I am proud to be an American today.

Icy Travel Day and Other Thoughts

I’m still suffering from high-speed Internet withdrawal! Our new house is so high-tech, we can’t figure it out. And now my new problem is that my wireless modem isn’t working on my new Dell. Grrr.

So I’m on my way to Chicago for work after my flight last night was cancelled due to bad weather at O’Hare. And this morning there is an ice storm in Charlotte and mine is one of the few flights getting out. (Have I mentioned lately how much better US Airways at Charlotte is versus United at Dulles — or anywhere else for that matter).

It will be a quick trip to the Windy City and I’ll be back in the Queen City by Friday noon.

Hopefully the hotel tonight will have high-speed, and I can also figure out what ails my wireless modem.

Happy Thursday!
