We’ve reached 11,000 on Wall Street…. and now this:
The federal government posted the first budget surplus for December in three years as corporate tax payments hit an all-time high, helping offset a record level for spending, the Treasury Department reported Thursday.
I doubt this will be the lead story on NBC Nightly tonight.

But I thought the GOP slashed corporate taxes so their buddies wouldn’t have to pay their fair share? I must have been mistaken.
The “record spending” part might be a top story. Bush needs to control the spending.
I’m a businessman w 220 employees in rural pennsylvania. Our unemployment rate in PA is 5.2% and we cant find good qualified employees. we get very few applications period. I understand why some businesses have become dependant on guest workers, just to try to satisfy their customers. When some continue to complain about not finding work its laughable. This economy is red hot.
And of course, don’t forget that all the MSM spinmeisters were calling the 11,000-point level on the Dow a “psychological” meter. What did I miss in the 1990s under Slick Willie when the Dow broke 10,000? I don’t seem to recall anyone calling it a “psychological” breakthrough.
Then again, it was because we had a demoncRAT in the White House.

Where’s all the millions of unemployed we were told were out there?
They got jobs, TGC.
And if anyone has noticed, it seems as though the “homeless” problem has gone away.
That’s because the MSM is trying to leak more US security secrets via the New York (Liberal Democrat) Times.
