It is so good to see so many blogs with posts about this effort to encourage the media to cover Iraqi Liberation Day. April 9 was a very special day as is every day that we continue to make progress in the Middle East. It is important to remember that though we may be sitting in a coffee shop somewhere or reading these blogs over the computer screen at our 9-5 workday that there are people in Iraq and all over the Middle East that are depending on our troops for freedom and protection - that are being trained to offer that protection and ensure that freedom on their own - and that our troops are dedicating day after day to this service.

The Fall of Saddam

When all we hear is how badly things are going in the Middle East, we need to remember how well things have gone. Surely, whatever your politics, surely you are proud of our American Warriors.

"None of you are real families in the eyes of the Bushes and the government."

Yeah, sweetie. You keep playing the victim. You play it so very well.

Let me add my thanks. There just aren't enough Bruces, proud to show their support for all of our Troops in the field. The occasion of the third anniversary of the fall of Saddam's statue is both a somber one and a celebratory one. We grieve for the dead and wounded as we celebrate their lives and their great successes; successes that are being carried forward by their comrades in arms still on the front lines. Let the MSM know that it isn't Katie Couric who should be lionized this week, it is the young people in uniform, the ones defending Katie and all of us.

Thanks for the posting about Families United. It is good to be reminded of all that we have to be thankful for and tend to take for granted, like our safety and the fact that we live in a fee society. Our troops have been getting hit left and left (can't say right!) and it really is a shame. They need to know we support them!
