NDT, though not to me, I was think about the flag today – I saw a motorcyclist with the flag flying from his backseat. And I keep thinking people in this country in an attempt to show love disgrace the flag in quite a number of ways, which piss me off to no end.

I can live with a flag burning, flag on ground, flag upside down in protest (although in this case, I am not sure it makes a real statement). But I can not abide people who drop the flag, fly a frayede flag from their car antenna, wear flag shorts, post a flag over a an exhaust pipe that is just disrespect. People got no home training, RAISED not reared in a barn.

I think the vast majority of American citizens know not to fly an American flag upside down, don’t you?

That really was the underlying purpose of the “give illegal immigrants driver’s licenses” movement of a few years ago; however, when the voters shot THAT down, Dems started playing the “racist” card they always do to get their way.

Only this time, what they’re trying to say is that it’s “racist” to require you to prove that you are an American citizen to vote, even though it is a Constitutional restriction.

Yeah, funny how no one’s talking about the obvious compromise on amnesty … permitting illegals residency without citizenship… The democrats have no traction with mainstream voters, so only by enfranchising illegal immigrants, dead people, and convicted felons do they have any hope of regaining power.

Unless, of course, Republicans hand power over to them, which is exactly what they are doing by pushing the All Amnesty/Zero Border Enforcement plan put forth by Ted “The Swimmer” Kennedy and John “I Stab the Party in the Back Every Chance I Get I Hope They Nominate Me” McCain.

Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the Democratic cabal are so desperate to regain power that they’re advocating giving illegals voting rights so that they can carry out this plan.

No one’s splitting up families. Who said they can’t take their kids with them when they leave? If the illegals choose to split up their families, that’s their problem.

The fact that illegals and their advocates are demanding anything, given Mexico’s draconian policies toward illegal immigration only serve to make this present issue all the more crucial.

My message to the GOP? Either grow a set of balls, or prepare to find a new line of work, because the majority of Americans aren’t exactly comfortable watching illegals march with upside-down US flags.

To be clear, it was Ronald Reagan who first granted amnesty. But more to the point, most of your arguments are not grounded in reality. It is simply politically unpalatable that your elected officials are going to split up families – particularly when you have young children, who through no fault of their own are caught up in this mess. You can bet your bottom dollar that the 5 year old born to illegal immigrants, who you threaten to deport, will be the face on the news.

If you really want to enforce the laws, punish the individuals who hire illegal immigrants. There are laws on the books for this but no one seems to care.

Actually, the message is that law and the Constitution don’t mean a flying fuck to the liberals unless they can use it to their advantage.

Yeah, the message here seems to be, if you disagree with a law and lots of people are breaking the law and the law interferes with commerce, you should be able to break the law without any repercussions.

With that in mind, let me propose a new business wherein we will sell alcohol to minors, or, as I prefer to call them “undocumented adults.” Lots of teenagers already drink, and, anyway, it will benefit the economy (or at least my economy) by selling to them. And for the most part, they drink liquor that adults just won’t drink… like Everclear. And most of those “undocumented adults” are good people, with families… which, as the illegal immigration debate shows, means it’s okay if they break the law, or if I break the law by selling to them. Yes, there will be social costs, but they will be borne by the taxpayers in the communities where these “undocumented adults” live, just like with “undocumented immigrants.”

There are four billion poor people in the world. Where is it written that the USA should have to take them all in? Do you not give a crap about the working class in the United States whose wages are being undercut by illegals?

12-20 M illegal aliens in the US? Really, is that a wiki cite? Most leading experts indicate the illegal alien population in the US is between 8.7M (2003 figure) and 11M –your number reminds me of the days when homeless advocates would routinely double and triple counts in order to get more money, more attention, more press. Or wait, gay rights advocates on the Left do the same thing… sorry.

The formula for success in this matter is very simple, Ted.

First, strengthen borders, issue identity cards, hold employers accountable, allow legal immigration to continue. Second, arrest those who aid illegal aliens –including well meaning Church groups running santuary programs– streamline repatriation programs, put the illegal aliens back in their home country and strengthen workplace/wage laws.

No one except illegal aliens are served by a porous border. Security first; it should be our national priority in all things international. We need to know who is here, why, how long, and who they brought with them. Anything less is negligent no matter what Teddy Roosevelt, Ben Franklin, Tom Jefferson or anyone else from the dead past thought in a different time, different world, different situation all around.
