How Today’s Liberals Would Have Reacted To D-Day

Top 11 Things That Anti-War Protestors Would Have Said At The Normandy Invasion On D-Day (Had There Been Anti-War Protestors At Normandy) – Nihlist In Golf Pants

11. No blood for French Wine!

10. It’s been two and a half years since Pearl Harbor and they still haven’t brought Admiral Nagumo to justice

9. In 62 years, the date will be 6/6/6. A coincidence? I think not.

8. All this death and destruction is because the neo-cons are in the pocket of Israel

7. The soldiers are still on the beach, this invasion is a quagmire

6. Sure the holocaust is evil, but so was slavery

5. We are attacked by Japan and then attack France? Roosevelt is worse than the Kaiser!

4. Why bring democracy to Europe by force and not to Korea or Vietnam? I blame racism

3. This war doesn’t attack the root causes of Nazism

2. I support the troops, but invading Germany does not guarantee that in 56 years we won’t have a President who’s worse than Hitler

1. I don’t see Roosevelt or Churchill storming the beaches — they’re Chicken Hawks

How true, how true!  I can almost hear these words from the lips of our own babes-in-residence: Raj, Ian, Chandler, Brendan, Monty, etc.  Oops, I forgot, Raj would have been facing the Allied invasion force coming at him.  He does go on and on and on and on about his knowledge of Germany.

Someone should put together the top ten list of GP statements about the marriage amendment.

    Mary Cheney is fabulous. Check.

That Good Man has publicly stated his opposition to the amendment, hurrah. Check.

    Gay liberals suck. Check.

John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Al Gore…and that Clinton guy. Check.

I wish we had a real debate. Check.

And that’s all I can really see.

Oh, let me guess. National Review Online and Bruce are having a David Letterman moment. And this list is about as stupid as most of David Letterman’s lists that I’ve seen.

    Now let’s think about this.

Suppose your right. Stipulate, for the moment, that your enormous contempt for GP is absolutely 100% justified.

What does that say about you, in coming here obsessively?

Who’s more pathetic – the loser, or the “winner” (so-called – hah hah) who, while spitting on him, clings to him?

Around the middle of August this year, the length of time our troops will have been fighting in Iraq will surpass the total time they fought to secure victory in Europe in WW2. And what have we to show for it?

“No blood for French Wine!” That caught my eye since it’s been reported that the great French baiter and frredom fries proponent, Tom DeLay, had his farewell celebration at the finest French restaurant in DC tonight.

Farewell and good riddance to Drunky McPukeshoes!

Note that the restaurant is in DC. I suppose you enjoy that fine Scottish quisine that is McDonald’s, right?

Please. You libtards will have to do better than that.

“Quisine”? What does that supposed to represent? “Quisling” is Scandinavian.

    ## 3 & 4

Let’s analyze this for a moment–and I assume that you are responding to me.

Why do I come back here? Good question. Why? Because I might learn something–you’d be surprised what I have learned while dishing with self-described “conservatives” over the last ten years on a number of web sites. FreeRepublic.com. LittleGreenFootballs.com (lil’green goofballs, to some of us) and others. The late, and, quite frankly, quite lamented intellectualcapital.com web site (a conservatively oriented web site, hosted by Pete duPont that was, actually, quite amazing, and I’ve seen nothing like it since).

As far as I’m concerned, I’m willing to consider any arguments on any issue, as long as they are backed up by evidence. The problem is that most people who has been posting on web message boards is that they are uninterested in providing evidence for their assertions.

Regarding and on HIS dime, no less – LOL

Oh, yes, I know that I am a guest here, as are you. If the proprietor of the web site wants to cut me, or you, off, that’s his or her prerogative. Some of us know that.

raj baby, take the load off your shoulders and grin, would ‘ya for cryin’ out loud! Bruce was kidding –it is a funny parody of what the Left has said and written about Iraq and all that’s “wrong” with the Coalition’s efforts there.

It’s humor, raj. Don’t take yourself so seriously; gheesh, any 1-L student would know that already.

I get the humor, haha. However……

The difference between the two is that Germany declared war on us right after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. We had no choice but to enter the war in Europe…

Iraq did NOT declare war on us, had nothing to do with 9/11, and was no immediate (if any) threat to us or our national security. We attacked a sovereign nation under false pretenses — BIG difference between WW2 and the war in Iraq. Listen to what some of the high ranking military brass, i.e. some of our highly decorated generals (who commanded troops in Iraq, and who voted for Bush in both elections) have to say.

ndtovent… sorry –you have to do better than simply restate discredited falsehoods originally trumpeted by the Left.

The problem with your comparison, of course, is that FDR (D-NY) had us secretly involved in Europe’s war long before the declaration… and he knew the Japs were prepping an attack on Pearl and did nothing to prevent it –in fact, he tried to encourage the Japs to attack American interests in the Pacific.

Additionally, Prez Bush was careful to detail the Doctrine of Preemption in his speech to Congress after 9-11 which, building upon Monroe’s Doctrine of Manifest Destiny, made it clear to world powers with terrorist ties that America wouldn’t WAIT a second time to defend itself from all threats, domestic and foreign.

You offer a difference that has no merit nor application.

#9 – I usually skip you and my observation was mainly directed at jimmy. But, since it may have been 1/4 or 1/3 directed at you, let’s say… I did feel a slight obligation to read your response this time, and now I have to admit, you’ve said something halfway reasonable.

I put “halfway” in there because I’m not at all sure that the information-gathering mission you describe is why you come here. The claim is undermined by other features of your behavior I’ve seen.

This is funny as heck. So you’re a conspiracy theorist. This silliness regarding FDR has been tossed around by conspiracy theorists for decades, and they (the conspiracy theorists) have never been able to come up with any persuasive evidence that it has anything to do with reality. The US’s Pacific Fleet was almost decimated in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Do you really believe that FDR would have intentionally allowed such a devastating attack to take place, if he knew it was coming? You really have to be nuts if you believe that.

The more you comment, the more you remind me–both in style and in substance–of someone else who purports to be from Michigan, who on various web sites goes by the handle “Brett Bellmore.” He purports to be a straight Michigander, and an engineer (which, if true, a point in his favor), and so forth. You aren’t really he, posting here under another handle, are you?
