Zsa Zsa’s Swan Song?
*****Zsa Zsa Loses. At 10:17 PM EST, I’m calling the race for Hank Johnson. With 50% of the vote counted, Johnson leads with 58% of the vote. So long, Cynthia.****
Zsa Zsa McKinney trails “in very early returns in a runoff for the Democratic nomination” for Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District.
UPDATE (8:30 PM EST): Johnson leads McKinney by about 3 to 1, but no precincts for DeKalb County have yet reported.
UP-UPDATE (9:23 PM EST): I had thought Zsa Zsa’s strength would be in DeKalb County, but I just realized that her opponent Hank Johnson was once a Commissioner of that populous county.
UP-UP-UPDATE (9:30 PM EST): Why the delay in the reporting of DeKalb County returns. Not a single precinct has reported in yet.
UP-UP-UP-UPDATE (9:55 PM EST): DeKalb has now started reporting. Johnson leads there, but by a much narrowed margin than that he enjoys in Rockdale and Gwinnett counties. He’s still up by over 20 points.

Dan, I’m not conversant on Georgia Democrat voter corruption practices… like I am with Detroit’s or Flint’s or Benton Harbor’s… when do McKinney’s people start printing ballots and stuffing the boxes?

Yes, I’ve heard of such corruption in Michigan which could keep that Senate seat in Democratic hands this fall.

And Joe Schwartz was defeated in Michigan. Chalk another one up for the Club for Growth.

Yahoo! Congresswoman McKinney gets her walking papers! She was an embarrassment for her district & the U. S. Congress (imagine how freaky you have to be to bring shame to THAT body). Let’s hope that this is a sign that voters are in the mood to clean house & weed out the deadwood from Capitol Hill.

RWP, you’re absolutely right. Club4Growth did it… along with a small percentage of Democrat Party spoilers.

Dan, when I heard that McKinney lost, I threw my cellphone at the nearest cop in protest. (I didn’t)

Did anyone catch Cynthia doing her best imitation of Pink and the Indigo Girls at the end of her swan song speech? AAAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there was any proof that she was certifiable, THIS WAS IT.
And in answer to the comment in another GP post, no, I don’t think that Hank Johnson is as crazy as Cynthia was. He is much more respected that she is and also a former DeKalb County commissioner.
Regards,
Peter H.

It seems a pity. She was the perfect billboard for the Dem’s urban strategy in politics. The pitiful example of what ethical people should avoid.
Lamont saves some of it by standing with Sharpton, however, so the real results of Dem policies will still be visible.

Regarding comment #4, somehow it’s not surprising that Professor Bond finds joy in the nomination of a right-wing, anti-gay Republican.

Trace, with all due respect, I think RWP finds comfort in the defeat of Joe Schwarz because he was a target of Club4Growth and a poster boy for what is wrong in GOP budgeting priorities.
It wasn’t because Walberg is anti-gay. Club4Growth is a group that was desperate for some evidence of relevancy inside the beltway and they did it by bouncing a liberal/moderate/progressive.
I bet some in Congress listen a whole lot better next time Club4Growth asks them to adopt sensible priorities, give access to the group, or seek accomodation on spending.
