Good posts on this issue, GP. Just for the record (and I’ve commented on this before on one or two other threads), I’m a liberal Dem., but I absolutely do NOT support/advocate outing. I think outing is an abomination, and a gross violation of humanity in general.

Patrick Sammon is a capable guy and I’m hoping that he’ll get on this ASAP. The report by Drudge that this was a prank/setup of Foley, if true, should make this a lot easier politically since then the only one harmed was Foley himself. That would make the witch hunt a striaghtforward anti-gay action that any but the most partisan lefties (and we know who they are here) should oppose in the strongest terms.

Bobo, ….There’s no-one at home at LCR-National, so why expect a statement? The National Board must get their act in gear and appoint a new LCR President, political director, field director, exec. director or communications director BEFORE LCR-Natl even has a voice. What are they waiting for?….the 2006 fall election returns?

I agree with Bruce on this one. Log Cabin needs to agressively confront this witch hunt. As a very active LCR member and state leader, I ask that the National office get in front of this ASAP.

My response to NGLTF; you and your supporters are the ones who repeatedly make the claim that all gay Republicans are perverts and who send people out to dig up dirt on us.

Don’t act surprised that it is so easily generalized to “all gays are perverts” and that the antigay Dems who have abused you for political advantage in the past without you objecting are doing it again by encouraging that idea — and using the evidence that you and yours dug up.

If you want to be helpful, acknowledge for the first time in your life that gay Republicans are no different than anyone else, and that gay people can hold whatever political beliefs they like.
