    Hallelujah!

If you’re interested, a respectful treatment of the first Amish funeral yesterday is here.

As someone on LGF once noted, the fact that someone made a good version of BSG means there is hope for humanity.

VdaK, BSG?? Oh, you are SOOO gay. Keep the kids away from that show, ok?

For my FFF Zone input, I’d like to note that the Wolverines will play the Spartans this weekend in two sports: football and mens soccer. The Wolverines will kick Grren&White tail all the way back to East Lansing.

And for the whacked out GayLeftBorg: our twice elected Veep, Dick Cheney, was in town yesterday raising a cool $1m for the GOP candidate in an open COngressional seat. Polling puts Walberg, the GOP candidate, up by 22 pts over the Democrat challenger –in Michigan, no less. Walberg knocked off my choice, incumbent Joe Schwartz, in the primary. There goes an anti-FMA vote.

The governor’s race is a dead heat with the incumbent Democrat only ahead of her rival, Dick DeVos, by the margin of error… the GOP Atty Gen is ahead by 12 pts, the GOP Secy of State is ahead by 14 pts and incumbent Democrat Senator Debbie StupidCow is getting pushed from the federal feed trough now that negative ads are running –she’s sliding in the daily 450 polls and has only 7 pt lead over her mostly unknown, generic GOP challenger. Ouch, that’s gotta hurt when the best & brightest of the Natl Dem Party campaign elite are losing it to a county sherrif.

It’s a good day to be a Wolverine, a GOPer and gay.

    Ow.

‘Course, Jonah Goldberg also digs BSG, and I always thought he was kinda cute, but how will we break the news to the Fair Jessica?

I’ve found a new lady to sigh over: Kathryn Erbe. She’s pretty, talented, and a Boston homey. (Newton, to be precise.)

I loved her in WHAT ABOUT BOB.

Now, if she could only lose that imbecile who portrays her partner on L&O:CI.

    Cheers,

I actually might have enjoyed BSG except for the fact that it is another show were you friggin have to watch every episode to keep up with what is going on, and my life is too busy to do that, and sure there is tivo, if we had it, but in general if I don’t catch when it is on, I am unlikely to find the time to go back and watch something I missed.

VdaK, sorry, it was a good-natured and utterly safe dart from a younger-brother kind of guy. I knew Goldberg liked sci-fi TV shows and he’s a big fan of the original Outer Limits and The Twlight Zone.

But I never heard him called “kinda cute”… hmmm.

For everyone else who doesn’t have an easy visual of famed Goldberg, here’s one: http://www.hellblazer.com/archives/2005/05/note_to_jonah_g.html

It’s amazing the time some people spend with images, eh VdaK? (Go Blue)

Eagerly awaiting the BSG premere. BSG is (thank God) the anti-Star Trek.

The Lost premiere was, to say the least, fascinating. But then, it’s Lost. Every episode is fascinating.

  10. V the K says

    October 6, 2006 at 10:49 am - October 6, 2006

Yeah, ‘Lost’ usually is worth watching. I just hope ABC doesn’t do this ‘1 new episode followed by six weeks of repeats’ BS they did all last season. No wonder ratings are down.

And the season premier of ‘South Park’ was hilarious, even though I don’t play Warcraft.

M-Matt, hate to rain on your Wolverine parade…especially since my late friend was a die-hard Spartan (she has a scholarship in her name at MSU)…

but tomorrow is the TEXAS-OU GAME at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas!

Let’s see if my beloved Longhorns can make it two-in-a-row against the Land Thieves north of the Red River!

    HOOK ‘EM!!

    Regards,
    Peter H.

Of course you are sick of it.
After you have reprinted every lie and misinformation drudge gave you.
Now that the facts are what they are, if I were you I would not want to talk about it either…

#7: You’re in luck, just me….according to my sources, they are airing a BSG prequel to the season this evening, which neatly recaps the story to this season.

  18. Michigan-Matt says

    October 6, 2006 at 12:58 pm - October 6, 2006

VdaK, nope. Some of the best dates in my life were with farm raised, 100% midwestern men. Now, farm boys from Oklahoma who think they can play football… that’s another entirely different matter, no? Oklahoma is good for only two things: twisters and high per capita beer consumption. Michigan natives, on the other hand, tend to be good looking, bright, able and motivated men; some of them make great footballers –in both sports. And we will never play the Longhorns.

    Nope, farm boys are good.

M-Matt, you already did, in the 2005 Rose Bowl…with disastrous results:

    No hard feelings, huh Matt?

Please – as if I’m going to be rooting for Ohio State against Michigan this year. AS IF.

  24. Michigan-Matt says

    October 6, 2006 at 6:48 pm - October 6, 2006

Peter, as long as you don’t root for the green & White this weekend, everything’s cool.

BTW, has anyone seen or heard from Vera lately?

  25. V the K says

    October 6, 2006 at 6:57 pm - October 6, 2006

Jonah Goldberg has bad vibes on the third season of BSG: “Mary McDonnell, in discussing this season’s plot arc, commends the BSG brain trust for their “brave and beautiful act” in putting together this year’s series.”

“Brave and Beautiful” is usually Hollywoodese for in your face left-wing propaganda. It’s the kind of phrase you would here a Hollywood-type apply to Rosie O’Donnell… with about as much accuracy.

  26. Peter Hughes says

    October 6, 2006 at 9:08 pm - October 6, 2006

Sorry, but every time I see Mary McDonnell…I think of “Dances with Wolves.”

BSG’s first season was good, but then I just lost interest. Sorry, sci-fi is not my cup of tea.

However, give me “Footballer’s Wives” or “Mile High” on BBC America any day! “Mile High” has the hunkiest actors I’ve ever seen on the small screen. And one of the actors plays a gay flight attendant – stereotyping? Nah!

    Regards,
    Peter H.

PS to M-Matt: I may or may not have told you – one of my late friends was a big MSU booster alum. So with a nod to her, I’m staying out of the MSU-UM game. May the best team win.

  27. Vera Charles says

    October 6, 2006 at 9:48 pm - October 6, 2006

Dear Lord – Football, BSG and corn fed farm boys! Sounds like the plot of a Falcon Video. Vera can smell the testosterone from way over here!

Vera’s been hard at work on a new venture and it’s taken more of her time than she had expected. She just wanted to pop in and tell all her devoted fans she’s still alive and bitching.

Vera won’t bother commenting on this month’s poster boy for bad behavior other than to say this: Men in there fifties shouldn’t know how to instant message – unless they’re Bill Gates. Apparently, AOL instant message is the new Viagra for men with tech support – who knew Blackberries could produce blue balls?

    Cheers!

Well, my prediction in #25 was dead-on, but I never thought it would be as bad as it was. A Michael Moore film is subtle by comparison to last night’s BSG.

  30. V the K says

    October 7, 2006 at 9:14 pm - October 7, 2006

Mat was right, watching the Spartens get smeared all over the field was far more satisfying.

  31. Peter Hughes says

    October 7, 2006 at 9:59 pm - October 7, 2006

And it is sheer heaven to see the OU Sooners being put in their place.

    Texas 28, OU 10.

    Hook ’em Horns!

    Peter H.
