David, nice try at rewriting history... but the phrase "He's not My President" was prominently displayed during the August 1968 street riots in Chicago in front of the Natl Democrat Convention... Abbie Hoffman-led protesters declared that then-Prez Johnson was not "my President" because of the unjust prosecution of the VN war.

It was radical Left Democrats trying to influence the Party leadership by manipulating the media coverage... funny how history repeats itself, eh?

I'm not sure that's the first time "He's Not My President" was used, but it sure was done remarkably.

You give Ollie North far too much credit.

For everyone's information, the term "He's not my President" was coined and used by Oliver North in reference to President Clinton.

Get real, anon1.

As much as people wanted to protest Bush, they were not crazy enough to vote for the typical anti-military, anti-religious Democrat. People may dislike the President, but that doesn't mean they want to elect people who agree with Cindy Sheehan and send terrorists money and support.

So the Dems put up candidates who were a) more in line with normal peoples' beliefs and b) were naive enough to believe that Pelosi, Schumer, and Emanuel actually valued their opinion.

Pelosi gave them a <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15767862/site/newsweek/from/RS.4/"> rude dose of reality this week</a>:

<i>Pelosi and her California allies, by contrast, really worked the Democratic caucus, reminding colleagues that Hoyer had voted for the Iraq war and questioning his loyalty to Pelosi, who he had twice run against for leadership positions and lost. Pelosi invited freshmen Democrats into her office, and her opening line, delivered with a steely smile, was, “Before we talk about your committee assignments, let’s talk about the leader’s race.”</i>

And this was for a secret ballot, where, in theory, she wouldn't know who voted for whom. But it was to make the point clear that Pelosi will tolerate no dissension and will punish people who don't do exactly what she says -- including people who voted against the corrupt Murtha.

Vera, I fight against my inner-male everyday to distance myself from Carol Channing, but I think watching NancyP is more like watching Carol Channing and Mary Martin cat-fight it out in "Legends" or, as I call it "Bitch Slapped for Life".

Only in NancyP's case, she's playing both parts to the mirror. No other actress would be "beautiful enuff" to share the stage with that political diva.

I'm on the same page as PatriotPal and NorthDallas30 on this topic. We all got our dander up after the 2000 election, when leftists -- especially some in the hollywood crowd -- said they refused to consider George W. Bush their President. Bruce's "not my Speaker" demens his message.

I commented more on this topic at #13, in response to Bruce's 11/16 post "Perfect Candidate for House Majority Leader -- John Murtha".

#3. "Hoyer's just been elected Majority Leader over Howlin' Mad Murtha.

Apparently, Nancy's already screwing the pooch, so to speak."

#8. "disagreement does not mean destruction or disunity"

Exactly, #8.

If you really want to know what Nancy's like - ask her daughter...

"We were always expected to make sure our homework was done; and that we were prepared for what we did.

She would always say, 'Proper preparation prevents poor performance,'"

Christine Pelosi on her mother, Nancy Pelosi. 60 minutes 10/22/06

Wonderful. The den mother from hell.

All you need is a peppy slogan said repeatedly.

“Islamic Insurgents inspire impending impeachment”

“Terrible terrorist take to thoughtful therapy”

“Christian conservatives control crazy conservatives”

“Democrats deny dismantling democracy daily”

It's like watching Carol Channing in 'Call me Madam': a poor substitute for the original...

"a campaign of "bait and switch" on the American public."

This is the more truthful statement I've read on the internet since the election.

Slowly the bad news will reveal itself and the Republicans who didn't vote have no one to hold to account but themselves. Those Republicans that voted for the Democrats are in the same boat. Good luck with that, we'll see how that works out for ya!

Michigan-Matt says:

<blockquote><em>... for you to argue anyone or anything isn't being independent enough is like raj or Gryph contending they're patriots. It doesn't pass even a sniff test.
</em></blockquote>

Oh look! Another back-handed insult from Michigan-Matt. How Unique! How Original! How Exciting! How Typical of such a lying cowardly and un-Patriotic sack of crap as is our beloved and hate-filled Michigan-Matt.

You see, whenever it comes to a choice between whats best for the USA, and whats best for the GOP. MMatt will choose the GOP every single time. In some weird and sick twisted way, his self-esteem seems to be caught up in his political Party more than his country. Maybe he's afraid of being Left Behind. For whatever reason, fear and the need to hate seem to be a big part of his life.

#8 But can they keep them?

Several people have said, several times, that a Dem win this fall makes it less likely that the Dems will win in 2008 on the national level, and that if Republicans held the Senate and House that the 2008 race would be more difficult.

Americans like balance.

“…marginalizing you more”

More than what? I don’t have the numbers in front of me but didn’t dems win about 25 house seats, 9 senate seats, state legislators, governorships, and perhaps about 3,000,000 more total votes?
I don't feel marginalized...

“Then the petulant little troll followed with this little meme...”
There is nothing trollish about responding to the finial paragraph of a post...especially when my critique is spot on.

"Admit it, you've got all of your talking points on cut-and-paste, don't you?"
You got me. I am not a human at all. Just a machine invented by Warren Buffet,
Dwayne Hoover would call me a "reasoning machine"

LOL.....unfortunately for you, keogh, disagreement does not mean destruction or disunity. GayPatriot and I can disagree on several things, but we can express that as adults to each other and have a reasonable discussion on the matter.

You have nothing of the sort to offer. And you seem to be blind to the same lesson of history that you so readily point out to others; vicious partisanship such as the type you and your fellow anti-Bush bigots practice will only end up marginalizing you more.

keogh whined...

<i>"Bruce is so off his rocker he is having a hard time getting his automaton gallery to follow his lead."</i>

Not exactly, sweetie. Unlike the leftist lemmings, we conservatives don't swallow every morsel of bullsh*t handed down by our leadership. It's called independant thought, dear. Look into it.

Then the petulant little troll followed with this little meme...

<i>"...you have forgotten the 1990’s where today’s political climate was christened by an obstructionist Repub congress and a hate filled Anti-Clinton message that has fueled almost every Repub funding drive since 1993."</i>

Gee, kellogg, think maybe it's time to get some new material? You perpetual victims have been howling this same scat for almost fifteen years!!!

Admit it, you've got all of your talking points on cut-and-paste, don't you?

Must be tiresome being an indiotarian, huh?

I agree with PatriotPal.

The best thing to do is just hand over the microphone and let Pelosi and her fellow Democrats show the world what they support -- like <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/11/15/BAG2HMD46B1.DTL&hw=JROTC&sn=001&sc=1000"> banning JROTC in schools and using race as a factor in assigning children to schools</a>.
