GAYPATRIOT POISED FOR MILLION VISITOR MARK

December 19, 2006 by GayPatriot

Good morning.   Sometime within the next 24 hours, that ticker at the bottom of the page tracking our visitors on Sitemeter will rollover like a Jerry Lewis Telethon tote board and hit the magic One Million Visitors Mark.

If Dan and I do not have the chance to post close to the time it happens today, I would like to thank all of our readers and supporters for making this happen.   It is an honor to write for all of you and we appreciate your comments, derisions, support and contributions tremendously.

Now, the big news…. whichever GayPatriot reader can prove he or she was our 1,000,000th visitor (or the closest to it) will WIN a $100 American Express Gift Card. The way to prove it is to “screen capture” the Sitemeter tally box at the bottom of our page when you visit our site.  Our webmaster will then check against our IP hits to verify.  Please email those screenshots to me at bruce@gaypatriot.org.

Again, thank you for your support since September 2004.  And congratulations to all for our 1,000,000th visit (sometime later today or tonight!)

-Bruce and Dan

Well it was just like an auction on ebay, except I could not use Auction Sniper.

Congratulations on your success, and Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Best Wishes in 2007.

You all are one of my must stops every day.

    Congratulations!

Not to burst your bubble, but as an FYI, it would be extremely easy for anyone with a passing knowledge of Photoshop to gin up a fake graphic that would look like they were the 1 millionth visitor. I suppose, though, the actual IP address would be another matter.

Nice job to all the guys at GP on your 1m! On the heels of being one of the top two gay blogs in America… that says a lot!

I only wish the quality of the opposition was improving… sadly, it seems the GayLeft is imploding. Just look to the recent Advocate poll of GayLeftBorg types who think 70-30% that the Democrats won’t be any better at advancing the gay agenda than was the GOP for 12 years.

Ouch. That’s gotta hurt to be marginalized at the outset of a supposed “electoral victory” for gays in 2006 by the very partisans the GayLeft was pimping for… ouch.

  11. Calarato says

    December 20, 2006 at 10:09 am - December 20, 2006

Well Matt, they’re right. The Dems WON’T be any better at advancing gay rights.

We know that empirically, from (1) the Clinton years, (2) Kerry in 2004, and (3) in 2006, the Foley experience (with Pelosi et. al. happily spreading the “gay=pedophile” meme for what they believed to be their own advantage).

BUT, here’s the thing: with a Democrat victory, the GLBT (Gay Left Borg Types – hah hah, I just got that one 🙂 ) at least get a spasm of glee over the implied slap at the hated Bush, the hoped-for (by them) defeat of America in the War on Terror, etc. That’s what their after. The politics of resentment / revenge.

    #0 – Bruce / Dan – Congratulations!!!

#1 – I beat you by one, Pat R. 😉 I got 1,000,001 and sent Bruce the screenshot yesterday. But it will be interesting to see who got 1,000,000.

hmm…interesting Calarato. I got 1,000,001 and also sent to Bruce yesterday. oh well…republicans never could be trusted at the ballot box. i’m kiiiiidding, relax. 🙂 congrats to whoever they decide the winner and to GP for being over a million hits old!

  13. Kevin says

    December 20, 2006 at 11:15 am - December 20, 2006

11: Well, if you want to check the facts of advancing gay rights between the Republicans and Democrats, Republicans sure as heck aren’t in the lead on that one. Introduction of / passing of legislation to ensure equal rights of gay/lesbian citizens with everyone has been lead by Democrats over the years, thank you very much. And by the way, advances of gay rights began a few years before Clinton in 1992, just so ya know.

Calarato, you just got the borg play on GLBT? Cool; AngryGryph is still trying to figure it out. The balance of the lower-case-clan are waiting for the coloring book version.

I thought Clinton was the best “Black” or “Gay” or “Southern” or ______ prez ever… depending on the constituency in focus? Is he no longer the Gay Savior in retrospect? I know about DOMA and DADTDHDP but, the GayLeftDems say he didn’t know what he was doing… or he was overwhelmed by GOP types… or, or, well take any excuse he used to keep Hillary off his back.

But now we’re off topic a tad. Sorry guys.

Couldn’t that $100 American Express Gift Card be given to a soldier with missing limbs in the winner’s name? We are, after all, still losing a war.

  19. Calarato says

    December 20, 2006 at 11:23 pm - December 20, 2006

#18 – sean, interesting. A couple questions for you – I am honestly curious:

    (1) How much cackling pleasure did it give you, to try a lame crack like that expressing your inner glee over the prospect (in your mind) of America losing a war and soldiers being hurt?

Please try to estimate it as a multiplier of some small pleasure that normal people would relate to. (“9 beer units”, “2 good deed units”, etc.)

    (2) Are you aware of what it makes you, if you are the type of person – and you are, dearie – who gets pleasure from contemplating American defeats and soldier injuries?

Again – I am coming from genuine curiosity here.

  20. North Dallas Thirty says

    December 21, 2006 at 12:17 am - December 21, 2006

Or, sean, here’s something revolutionary; you could give the soldier $100, if his or her getting $100 is your primary concern.

    Somehow, I doubt it is.

#14, I gotta admit I didn’t get the play on GLBT until I saw it in Calarato’s #11 post. maybe I haven’t been reading long enough. But it definitely made me laugh.

Here’s wishing you all a Merry Christmas (or Happy Hanukkah) and a Happy New year. Hope you all have a safe, blessed holiday season.

Anyway, congrats to Nathan & Calarato. And thanks to all!
