Ah yes. Elvis would have been 72 today. That not too old-he really did die way too young. My favorite period of his career was his ’60’s comeback: In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds, Don’t Cry Daddy, The Wonder Of You, Kentucky Rain, Burning Love, etc. His voice was more mature & also he was a husband & father by this point. It also was before he got fat & bloated with drugs. I’m sort of glad he didn’t live to see Wacko Jacko as a son-in-law (no matter how short THAT “marriage” was).

Ah, I prefer his “Tupelo to Memphis” era, when he started knocking out a string of hits like “That’s Alright Mama.” Prior to his Army stint and those God-awful cheesy movies.
RIP, Elvis. Or enjoy whatever spaceship you are on right about now…

A belated Happy Birthday to The King.
I didn’t “discover” Elvis until I joined the Marines. All those “good ole boys” loved him.
And, now, so do I!
Cheers,
