Bits & Pieces
Andrew Sullivan has joined the evergreen GayPatriot love-fest (*snicker*) against the Hypocrite Rights Campaign. Civil Rights or Marketing? and How Accountable Is The HRC? and Judging HRC. Hey, thanks for joining us Andrew! We are glad to have you help us shine light on the Gay Money Sucking Sound.

Muslims Protest Charlotte Radio Talk Show Host – Charlotte.com
At a Wednesday news conference, Jibril Hough of the Charlotte-based Islamic Political Party of America charged that Katz speaks mockingly about Muslims and showcases only critics of Islam on his 3-6 p.m. show at 1110 AM.
“His agenda has been one of inciting fear, hatred and ignorance against Muslims,” said Hough, who is also spokesman for the Islamic Center of Charlotte. “His type of rhetoric would not be allowed against any other minority community …”
Asked for specifics, Hough said Katz sarcastically refers to Islam as “the religion of peace”; distorts passages in the Koran, the Muslims’ sacred book; calls Muslims who disagree with him “apologists for terrorists”; and refuses to let Hough and other Muslims speak on his show.
“I’ve been looking for the reasonable, moderate, sensible voice of Islam that says, `Stop killing in our name,’ ” said Katz, who came to Charlotte in August from San Francisco radio. “There are one billion Muslims in the world. I don’t for a second think there are one billion terrorists … But (radical Islamic) groups have cowed people — including practicing Muslims — into not speaking out.”
Good luck, Jeff! I think you will be looking for a long time.

Bill Would Block Credit Cards For Illegals – Commercial Appeal.com
U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced legislation Monday that would prevent illegal immigrants from receiving credit cards from American financial institutions.
The Photo Identification Security Act would require banks to use what Blackburn calls “secure forms of identification” to obtain credit. In a statement put out by her office, she says that Bank of America “has come under fire in response to reports that it allows illegal immigrants access to credit cards without proper documentation.”
Bank of America spokesmen maintain that they follow the letter of the law in permitting customers to use the forms of identification permissible under the U.S.A. Patriot Act. That includes matricula consular cards issued by the Mexican government.
Yeah, you know this lame blame-shifting excuse that BofA has claiming they “comply with the USA Patriot Act” is just a bunch of crap. As for me, I cut up my BofA credit card and sent the pieces in the mail today with my final payment to them.

“Moderate Muslim” voices – few and far between. The actual moderates don’t want to speak out and be targeted by the Islamo-nazis.
Having said that: There are some, speaking out. Here are profiles of a couple recent, important voices:

P.S. It looks like the woman in my first cite is American. She spent a harrowing-sounding time as a captive wife, basically, in Afghanistan.

Hey GP: Glad to see more discussion on HRC. Sully’s post sparked a discussion at Dan Savage’s web home; he also agreed with Sullivan’s take on the matter.
I was impressed a bit, at first, that HRC is trying to reach out to those GOP legislators in Wyoming who stopped the anti-gay marriage recognition bill. But they seemed to be quiet and restrained, when they should be championing these guys who bucked party and politics in favor of their principles with shouts and fanfare.

Perhaps this issue maybe it will open the door to make conservatives understand that the goals of big business are not necessarily good for America, especially where credit is concerned. There’s a lot of credit being offered by banks to people who can’t afford it. People who are below the poverty level, yet can receive credit cards that are nearly equal to their yearly income; home loans given to people whose monthly income can’t even cover their monthly mortgage payments. Banks know this, yet they still give out credit because they knwo they’ll make money through write offs of bad debt and foreclosures while dangling the American dream in front of people who can’t afford it. Illegal aliens are simply new way to increase this market for them. The idea that a person can get into the banking ssytem witout having to prove their citizenship or identity seems to be a good entree for criminals not to mention would-be-terrorists.Check out maxedoutmovie.com.

That ridiculous statement reminded me of this from Seinfeld:
Anyway, no business is forcing any citizen (or non-citizen) to use a credit card or a get home loan.

“no business is forcing any citizen (or non-citizen) to use a credit card”
That’s undeniable, but a good credit rating is a prerequisite for just about everything — including, increasingly, getting a job. Many employers now check applicants’ credit scores as a matter of course. And it’s pretty hard to establish a decent FICO score if you’ve never had credit.
(Rejoinder to the inevitable snarky ad hominem remarks that will now be flung at me from all you civilized, decent, compassionate Republicans: My FICO score is 804, and I have a great job. And the current balance on my Bank of America credit card is $0. So there.)

Then extending credit to people who have low credit scores (for whatever reason) that now pay their bills on time and don’t default will improve their chances of success by improving their credit score. Sounds good to me.

Of course libeerals are more concerned with your D&B#. They could care less about the peasant’s FICO score.
It’s interesting that the top richest guys in America are big time libs. Well, Buffet is more of a Socialist (Not much diff.). Even more interesting, both have effectively bypassed the Estate Tax they demand for the little people.
And more interesting than that, the libs big Sugar Daddy, George Soros, can only rank #27 on the Fortune 400. Even buying an a$$ load of Halliburton stock couldn’t help.
What else ya got, vaara?

11: “Even more interesting, both have effectively bypassed the Estate Tax they demand for the little people.” Good comment. Keep up the fallacy that the Estate Tax affects everyone which conservatives love to espouse. You did byass correct reference by not calling it the Death tax.
The truth: Only about 2% of all estates are subject to the estate tax which affects estates under $1,500,000.00. That’s from the IRS website: http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=98968,00.html

ThatGayConservative,
Conservatives are all over corporations, can’t get enough of feeding off the corporate teat, embracing corporate welfare and being the nanny state to big business.
Why bother with the little guy when you can fall all over yourselves to give out handouts to Halliburton?

Where is the proof for that? Are you saying Leftists dont do the same thing?

#19 – No thanks, I’ll take the pastrami on rye, hold the mustard and put a full sour pickle on the side. Make sure the rye is toasted first.
Hubby tells me I order food the way Meg Ryan did in “When Harry Met Sally.” I have threatened to fake one in public in retaliation.

#21 – Yes, little libtroll, I do have a Hubby. Even though the state won’t recognize it as such, WE recognize it and that is all that matters.
I’ve already addressed your shallow existence in another post, so for me to duplicate that effort would be pointless. Just like your arguments.
SNAP! You is dismissed.
