(Rejoinder to the inevitable snarky ad hominem remarks that will now be flung at me from all you civilized, decent, compassionate Republicans: My FICO score is 804, and I have a great job. And the current balance on my Bank of America credit card is $0. So there.)

Of course libeerals are more concerned with your D&B#. They could care less about the peasant’s FICO score.

It’s interesting that the top richest guys in America are big time libs. Well, Buffet is more of a Socialist (Not much diff.). Even more interesting, both have effectively bypassed the Estate Tax they demand for the little people.

And more interesting than that, the libs big Sugar Daddy, George Soros, can only rank #27 on the Fortune 400. Even buying an a$$ load of Halliburton stock couldn’t help.

Then extending credit to people who have low credit scores (for whatever reason) that now pay their bills on time and don’t default will improve their chances of success by improving their credit score. Sounds good to me.

That’s undeniable, but a good credit rating is a prerequisite for just about everything — including, increasingly, getting a job. Many employers now check applicants’ credit scores as a matter of course. And it’s pretty hard to establish a decent FICO score if you’ve never had credit.

That ridiculous statement reminded me of this from Seinfeld:

Perhaps this issue maybe it will open the door to make conservatives understand that the goals of big business are not necessarily good for America, especially where credit is concerned. There’s a lot of credit being offered by banks to people who can’t afford it. People who are below the poverty level, yet can receive credit cards that are nearly equal to their yearly income; home loans given to people whose monthly income can’t even cover their monthly mortgage payments. Banks know this, yet they still give out credit because they knwo they’ll make money through write offs of bad debt and foreclosures while dangling the American dream in front of people who can’t afford it. Illegal aliens are simply new way to increase this market for them. The idea that a person can get into the banking ssytem witout having to prove their citizenship or identity seems to be a good entree for criminals not to mention would-be-terrorists.Check out maxedoutmovie.com.

Hey GP: Glad to see more discussion on HRC. Sully's post sparked a discussion at Dan Savage's web home; he also agreed with Sullivan's take on the matter. I was impressed a bit, at first, that HRC is trying to reach out to those GOP legislators in Wyoming who stopped the anti-gay marriage recognition bill. But they seemed to be quiet and restrained, when they should be championing these guys who bucked party and politics in favor of their principles with shouts and fanfare.
