Damn. Enough to make one misty-eyed. I would rather that he lived, but the noble sacrifice of Cpl. Jason Dunham makes this high honor well-deserved. Bravo Zulu and requiem in pace, Marine.

Another young man, Ross McInnis who used to work for me, was killed in December 2006. He acted out similar heroics by saving 4 of his buds by throwing himself on a granade. What is it about America’s heartland that produces such heros? Ross was just 19 and you ‘ll see from the articles and pictures what an innocent and bright young man he was. God speed Jason and Ross. We and millions of others in this world live free and troubleless lives because of their sacrifices.
“What is it about America’s heartland that produces such heros?”
Gene, maybe it’s because we still believe in American values, free enterprise, rugged individualism and lack of elitism. You know, those things that you can never find in the Northeast or the Left Coast.
And to think that those yahoos in NYC and California refer to us as “flyover country.” Typical libtards.

Amen.
Been from Europe, anything heroic sounds like a strange value.
I hope the U.S.A never leaves us alone, because we won´t ever defend ourselves. All in the name of multiculturalism.
