Idiotic and Naive House Democrat Quote of the Week

Freshly back with (not my) Speaker Pelosi from their kowtowing trip to the Syrian terror regime, US Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) made a series of idiotic and contradictory statements yesterday.  But none was more ludicrious and clueless than this whopper Lantos, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee…..

Lantos noted that “with the speaker’s support,” he has co-sponsored legislation in the House that calls for making available to all countries — including Iran — nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes under international oversight by establishing a “nuclear fuel bank.”

“So if the Iranian president says that he is developing (nuclear material) for peaceful purposes, we are assisting him in that process,” said Lantos, who anticipated the legislation could pass as early as May.

Ladies and gentlemen, this are your Democrat appeasing Congressional leadership at its worst.  I suppose Lantos and Pelosi thought Saddam was just testing out pesticides for “peaceful purposes” when he gassed thousands of Kurds.

God help us all.

  2. Is the American public also aware that Rep. Lantos is also a Holocaust survivor? And that he is (in his words) “assisting” Iran with its nukes? The same country whose leader is the biggest anti-Semitic bigot since Adolf Hitler?

God help us. Lantos is a Quisling. He is no better than the Jewish informants in the ghettos and the kapos in the concentration camps.

  4. Peter, hey… RichardNixon, the larger-than-life anti-Communist who taught RR how to really hate the commies, opened up China and Russia to the West. Lantos is just doing the NixonThing.

Maybe Lantos is on to something unique… we throw billions of US taxpayer dollars into an Internl Nuke Fuel Pool and that ought to “relieve” the economic stress Iran feels from having sanctions; they feel good, we feel good. No more bad sanctions; no more need for inspectors; no accountability –we just believe Iran when they say they’re doing good things… like we do with the Russians on dismantling their own weapons nukes.

Only problem is, Iran wants bomb grade uranium… not plutonium. But that’ll be ok, Lantos knows a Speaker who knows a guy who getting some bomb grade nuke material together for some dirty bombs for the West… it could work out. Trust Lantos.

Liberals put liberalism first. He’s already in tight with a party that hates the Jews. Why not go frollicking with anti-Semites abroad?

  7. BTW, am I the only one who remembers Kerry* saying pretty much the same thing in one of the 04 debates? I can’t remember which one, but he said something about giving Iran nuclear material. I think he might have even said “like we did with NoKo”. Or maybe that was my reaction. Can’t remember what exactly he said, but I know he did mention it.

Don’t have the time to look right now, but can somebody help me out?

*Who actually served in Vietnam, before he was against it.
