#33 is it the objective and purpose of President to get elected then leave office with a high approval rating? Is that why they get elected? If so President Clinton hit a home run. Most thoughtful people want the chance to be President to accomplish great things. Clinton did not. He spent the whole second term trying not to alienate anyone. To keep those approval ratings high. His advisor at the time Dick Morris has said as much. They attempted nothing hard or challenging that would make any constituent mad. So list the accomplishmnets of the 8 year Clinton Administration.
Most Dems can give you 3 maybe 4 before they get to Family Leave Act.
Included are Welfare Reform which most leftists hated. And the old standby great economy. But they won't give Bush credit for the same.
But that's it folks. 8 years. No S Securty reform, no medicare reform, no pension reform, no tax cuts, not tort reform, no energy policy etc etc.
Bush and the brave American soldier has freed 45 million souls from tyranny. And has set worldwide terrorism back on its heals. We will get attacked again. I pray we have a President who isn't worried about his/her opinion polls of the day and rains down hell on the terrorists heads and ends this. It will require a united American people. Not one fractured by partisian politics. With one party who's goal is the sheer acquisition of power for power's sake.

The libs didn't win the November elections, the Republicans lost it through their arrogance and greed. Their motto for 2006 might as well have been, "Sure, we're arrogant and greedy, but thanks to our Get Out the Vote operation, we think we'll win anyway."

They also show no signs of having learned anything from their loss.

Missed the November elections, did you?

You mean the elections where the liberals won a meaningless majority? Nope. But I'd be willing to bet that folks missed Queen Nan and gReid in the two weeks leading up to the election. Even more, everybody missed any mention by the liberals of what they stand for.

Gene, only if Bernstein treats Shrillary as if she were a Republican. If he treats her like the typical Dhimmicrat, it will be a Whitewater - er, I mean whitewash.

Freudian slip, y'know? ;-)

On another political note. Carl Bernstein is coming out with a new Biography of Hillary Rodman Clinton. 640 pages. Yes 640 pages. How many pages is a typical biography of say, FDR, Reagan, Lincoln? Save you some trouble, it ain't 640 pages. This bio is suppose to be fairly negative and dwells on Hillary's "untruthfullness", which as you know disqualifies anyone from serving as President in the future. So it appears as though the Democrat field will be wittled down fairly quickly to Richardson, Kucinich, Gavel and Edwards, you know Edwards, the "green" candidate in the field. hehe

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a rout once considered almost inconceivable, Democrats won a 51st seat in the Senate and regained total control of Congress.

Not only that, but Osama Obama is on record lying about his accomplishments.

On a similar note, did you see where the MIT Admissions Director was forced to resign for lying on her resume in 1979?

Could we list the members of the Senate who have 2 years of experience or less and all their accomplishments?

If B.O. had the exact same experience, the exact same accomplishments, and the exact same positions but was white, would he be treated as anything but a joke?

Racism is alive and well in the Democrat party.

Just given the wide margins, it’s clear that the poll is heavily weighted toward liberals.

Well, yes. Reality is known to have a strong liberal bias.

At this point in President Clinton's second term, his approval rating was double President Bush's current approval rating. President Clinton was popular. President Bush... not so much.

Hence, why the 2-1 ratio is not very surprising. Most Republicans like yourself still support the President. Independents and Democrats do not. Each bloc comprises about a third of the country.

That's why Bush's approval rating is stuck around 33% and why President Clinton is favored over Bush by a 2-1 margin.

When it comes to opinion of President Bush, it's the Independents and Democrats VS. the Republicans.

There's your 2-1.

Heckuva job, Brownie!

What was Witt's excuse?

Is that supposed to be some witty jibe at “vast [evil] corporations” and the way they “assimilate the little guy”?

No. It's a slam of a southern icon.

was to situate the NYC Office of Emergency Management in WTC Building 7

Oh. So not only are you a lawyer and scientician, but you also play a Emergency Manager online. I'll bite. As a fellow EM professional, I'd love to know where you'd have put it. Perhaps The Meadowlands?

Of course we found out later that there was lousy communication between the police and firemen and that probably contributed to the high number of fatalities among the firemen.

As a fellow EM professional, I'd love to see you explain how that comment makes sense to you.

By 2-1, most Americans believe otherwise.

Just given the wide margins, it's clear that the poll is heavily weighted toward liberals. Example:

on taxes, it was 51 percent to 35 percent for Clinton;

Only a liberal would think that the highest tax rates ever would be a good thing.

and on handling natural disasters, it was 51 percent to 30 percent, also favoring Clinton.

Forgetting, of course, that it took James Lee Witt 3 WEEKS to respond to the destruction of Hurricane Floyd. Which, at that time, was the most destructive storm in history. Nevermind that it took lord BJ 4 DAYS to get around to visiting N. Carolina.

Further, how about the fact that BJ couldn't have been bothered with the first WTC attack?

The same was true for a question on handling national security: 46 percent said Clinton performed better; 42 percent picked Bush.

And Clinton did what, exactly, for national security? Frankly, I don't think gutting the military to the point they can't afford bullets qualifies. However, libs would think so.

Shall I go on?

#20:
Thank God for the Patriot Act.

I don't see anything to suggest that the Patriot [sic] Act had anything to do with the capture of al-Iraqi. Nor do I see anything to suggest he was a 9/11 co-conspirator. That said, it's great that they got him but I suspect it was some of that police work that you hold in such contempt that enabled us to nail him.

Speaking of Barack Hussien Obama, a suggestion for a future thread. Could we list the members of the Senate who have 2 years of experience or less and all their accomplishments? We could see why they might also be thought of as top tier candidates for President.

Ok so I'm watching the debate last night and the Democrat party represents about half the country. And these 8 people are the best choices that party has, to possibly lead the country during this crutial time in our history. There's no way that's possible.
Dennis Kucinich who is kookier than Dukakis but less attractive. Joe "the plagerist" Biden. Sen Chris Dodd who is famous for making waitress sandwiches with Sen Kennedy and being on Imus. Sen Barry Hussien Obama who has two, that's 2 years experience in the US Senate. But I guess as Sen Biden said he is "clean and articulate." Code words for what? The only thing Biden didn't call Obama was a good athlete. And oh, this guy former Sen Gravel of Alaska at least he has the onions to say what most Dems believe, "retreat from Iraq now, run as fast as we can, but run." Gov Richardson of Arizona or New Mexico or Nevada...one of those. These are the best Democrats out of our country of 300 million people? I don't believe it. Is Hillary basically being given a pass?

#23:
If he’d received the memo, he would have move the EOC.

Actually, Rudy himself established the EOM center in the WTC after the first attack on the WTC. Well, one might say anyone could have been dumb enough to put such a facility in a known target but Rudy is not just anyone, he's running for President based on his vaunted anti-terrorism skills. Which as far as I can see aren't exactly brilliant. Now NDT believes that Rudy's skills were in evidence on 9/11 but aside from showing up on TV and looking good, I'm not exactly sure what else was particularly impressive. Of course we found out later that there was lousy communication between the police and firemen and that probably contributed to the high number of fatalities among the firemen.

Again I will ask all those Rudy supporters, what specific things did he do prior to 9/11 that make him so superior in the area of anti-terrorism?
