I regret that I have not been able to blog for over a week now. I had a paper due last week and was pretty drained after that, then had to head up to school for three days of classes. Since I got back, I haven’t had much time either. It seems I’m having a Roseanne Roseannadanna week. As she said on one memorable episode of Saturday Night Live: “Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it’s always something! If it’s not one thing, it’s another!.”
And it seems that this week, it’s always something for me. I had a dentist appointment yesterday (pretty good results considering I hadn’t been in in 2 1/2 years). Now, I need to take my car in for an oil change and get ready to host my Dad who’s stopping in LA on his way to a vacation with his wife.
I’ll try to get back to blogging on Sunday.
God, I miss Gilda Radner. She and Belushi MADE Saturday Night Live. They were also the first two cast members to ever win Emmys for SNL – back in the day when it was actually funny.
My favorite Roseanne Roseannadanna rant: When she’s supposed to be talking about fitness and ends up talking about how she saw Dr. Joyce Brothers in a sauna with “a leetle, teeny-tiny ball o’ sweat hangin’ on the edge of her nose.”
RIP, Gilda. You were the best.

Perhaps you’ll have something to say about Mr. Giuliani’s newfound opposition to civil unions.
http://www.nysunpolitics.com/article/30
That’s right.
Mayor Giuliani supported civil unions. Presidential candidate Giuliani opposes civil unions.
Now that’s a man who sticks to his principles.
Nice try at dissembling, Chase… but you can’t even get in the door that with one. Read the story you linked, for once.
No flip flop on Rudy’s part. No change over his prior position. Perfectly consistent.
If you want flip flops, you need to see JohnKerry or HarrygReid… they can provide you with a long list of policy flip flops they’ve made on a number of subjects.
Furthermore, Chase, I believe that Hillary, Obama, Edwards, and the other Dem candidates have stated a) that marriage should be between a man and a woman and b) that no state should be required to recognize same-sex marriages or civil unions contracted outside its borders.
And yet you and your fellow gay leftists have yet to call THAT “flip-flopping” on civil unions.
But I can understand why; after all, Democrat gays and HRC leaders like Andrew Tobias and Hilary Rosen have no trouble giving money and endorsements to FMA supporters, as long as they’re Democrats.
What that makes quite obvious is that, to gay leftists and Democrats like yourself, whether or not one is antigay depends entirely on party affiliation, and has nothing to do with actions.
I read the article, Matt. And you are the one that’s spinning like a merry-go-round.
Mr. Giuliani has never qualified any of his previous responses in support of civil unions by saying “but all rights and privileges afforded to married heterosexual couples can not be provided to gay couples under a civil union.”
The New Hampshire law is no different than the Connecticut law passed in 2005.
I guess he was for civil unions before he was against civil unions.
My favorite is when she runs into Gloria Vanderbilt “wearing jeans so tight…” “So I gave her my hairbrush and said, here Gloria, have your self a field day.”
Geez, GPW you had to get an oil change? I had to take my trash cans out tonight too but I’m here aren’t I? j/k
I have more Emily Litella moments in my life.
Please. Even NEWSMAX writes:
Presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani has made a sharp departure from his previously stated stance on civil unions and has spoken out in opposition to a civil union law passed by the New Hampshire state Senate.
http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/4/27/110236.shtml?s=ic
Well, I guess it’s finally happened. Newsmax has turned into a bunch of “gay leftists.”
Oh. Never mind!
LOL…..and now Chase is reduced to trying to use Newsmax headlines as proof for his beliefs.
That’s what happens when reality slaps gay leftists upside the face — and they’re forced to answer for their own support of positions they shriek are “homophobic” elsewhere.
Gee, I thought the reason Chase and his fellow libtards never “quoted” sources like Fox and Newsmax was because of their CONSERVATIVE BIAS. So why all of a sudden does he trust it now?
Scratch a fool, find a liberal.

#6 – My other favorite Roseannadanna monologue has to do with giving up meat for fish. She goes on about how fish “look ugly, are squiggly and sometimes they cook a fish with its eyeball staring RIGHT AT YOU.”
The thing ends when she talks about raw oysters: “It’s like a wet glop, and it’s all slimy and you gotta swallow it REAL FAST or it feels like you are trying to chew a phlegm ball or something.”
That’s when Jane busts in with “Roseanne, you’re making me SICK!” Roseanne then does a poem told to her by Nana Roseannadanna set to the “Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.”
Goodnight, my little Roseanne Roseannadanna. đ

Peter H.
So why all of a sudden does he trust it now?
I read Newsmax even though I don’t agree with their political views. I quoted Newsmax to show that their is bipartisan unanimity that Rudolph Giuliani has changed his position.
Thatâs what happens when reality slaps gay leftists upside the face â and theyâre forced to answer for their own support of positions they shriek are âhomophobicâ elsewhere.
A quadruple amputee could count on his fingers the number of times the FMA will come up for a vote in the Democratic Congress. Harold Ford, despite holding a minority position within the Democratic Party on the FMA, would’ve strengthened the Democratic majority in the Senate, who will now prevent the FMA from coming up for a vote. In these instances, members with minority viewpoints within the caucus still help strengthen the majority position of the party. The RNC heavily backed Lincoln Chafee for the same reason, despite his lack of support for any of the their major policy initiatives.
That concludes our civics lesson for the day.
Nothing but excuses, Chase.
You and your fellow Democrat supporters keep lying about how your Dem candidates “support” us — and they turn around and give us DOMA, DADT, and this.
The civics lesson should have been taught to gays when leftist liars like you whined and cried about how the FMA, which had to pass both Congress AND three-quarters of the states, was an “imminent danger” — while you channeled money to candidates like Kerry who supported STATE constitutional amendment bans that DID pass.
What is really amusing is your double standard; after all, no mainstream Dem candidate supports gay marriage or forcing states to accept civil unions contracted in another state, just like Giuliani, but not a one of them do you call “homophobic” or claim they’re against civil unions.
But then again, what should we expect? You make excuses for why it’s good to vote for FMA-supporting Democrats.
ND30, people like Chase can be described for the DNC the same way 90% of the African-American population are: lockbox votes.
Both the gay and black communities have been voting Dhimmicrat for years, stating that “only they can help us.” Yeah, and see how far the liberal utopia went in New Orleans? See what happens when you have people unable to fend for themselves, hoping government can handle it?
People keep voting for the same party and all they get is condescending attitudes and a sense of entitlement – “you need us in your corner.” But now that they’ve been doing it since 1972 (after Stonewall), what do they have to show for it? Not freakin’ much.
Some people just never learn.

Peter H.
“Gee, I thought the reason Chase and his fellow libtards never âquotedâ sources like Fox and Newsmax was because of their CONSERVATIVE BIAS. So why all of a sudden does he trust it now?”
I’m probably one of the most conservative here, and I don’t trust newsmax.
If you look at the New Hampshire civil union law, it passed the New Hampshire Senate 14-10, a strict party line vote. All 14 Democrats voted for it. All 10 Republicans voted against it. It is because of votes like that that most gay people vote for the Democrats.
It can be said with absolute certainty, had New Hampshire voters not given Democrats control of both houses of the state legislature in November, the first time that’s happened in nearly 100 years, we would not be talking today about New Hampshire passing a civil union law.
That’s just how it is. Of course it’s disappointing that more Democrats don’t come out in support of gay marriage. Yet, the Democrats are still better than the alternative Republicans offer, which is hostility to gay rights on all fronts.
Look, there is nothing wrong if as a homosexual, you don’t think the advancement of gay civil rights in our society is an important issue. But if you do want to see progress in that area, the Democrats have consistently proven themselves to be the most likely to deliver it, as they did again in New Hampshire this week.
To believe otherwise is just plain delusional.
Speaking of SNL, I am looking forward to the hand-wringing over your man Rudy’s reversal on civil unions, aka stabbing homos in the back. Should be fascinating.
#15. Exactly!!! Save us from the Democrats!!! Give us the FMA writers and pushers and sponsors!!! We want them now!! And, they also really know how to run a war, don’t they, these Republicans? Fabulous.
Give us the FMA writers and pushers and sponsors!!! We want them now!!
Sean, we already KNEW that leftist gays like you were endorsing FMA-supporting Democrats — including leaders of HRC and DNC gay members.
But thank you for demonstrating the obvious.
OT. My signed first eddies of Bill Bennett’s America, The Last Best Hope Vols I and II arrived this weekend. Yippy Skippy!
D’j’ever notice liberals never write books about how great America is?
Of course not, V. They all think America is the cause of the world’s problems.
America does have problems. But America is NOT the problem.

Peter H.
Chase, I gotta give you credit for your ready willingness to carry the anti-gay water bucket for the DNC and the fact you never miss the opportunity to ignore reality. Newsmax? Really now? Rather than take the spin from others, why don’t you try reading the candidate’s statements? Newsmax? LOL.
Giuliani isn’t spinning, twisting or flip-flopping on civil unions… his comments about marriage being kept as an institution between a man and a woman is entirely consistent with his statements for the last 11 years. Just like they are for me… I’ve been saying the same thing for the last 12 years –marriage between man-woman; civil union and safeguards for SS.
Sorry, you gotta either put down the Democrats’ water pail and start thinking for yourself, or find something to speak about where your credibility isn’t so lacking.
Echoing VdaK’s comments… I’m past the first 125 pages of volume 2 and it’s a great, great commentary by Bennett —probably the last “best” pundit philosopher since Russel Kirk.
If you care about America’s future… read it.
If you’re a BlameAmericaFirster, you SHOULD read it because it’ll change your petty little perspective 180 degrees.
If you’re a lower case clanner here, DO NOT read it… your brain will implode. But if a lower case clanner here DOES read it, (spoiler coming) the book is an indictment of your continuing role to deface America and attack core values. It should make you sober and repentant… but you’ll probably just do another hit on the crack pipe.
