“Real estate” Harry didn’t serve in the military?? Well then he can’t comment on anything military or about the war. Case closed. Thanks for the info, I will discount his opinions from now on. Any new information on how much cash Di Feinstein got for channeling defense contracts to her husband? Last I heard it was a bit under 1 BILLION.

My point was that McCain is not taken to task for his scathing public criticism. But Reid is for doing it in private. There’s a double-standard here and it’s so common that it’s abbreviated: IOKIYAR.

Actually Gates sent up Pace & Giambastiani’s nominations to the WH, which agreed and then Gates, caving to Carl Levin’s threat of a “fight” decided to find somebody else.

Let’s remember Gates fired Pace, not Reid. We now have a War Czar, SecDef and an incoming Chair of the Joint Chiefs who are all skeptical of the surge.

Odd, if Pace was such a great general, why is he being dumped? I mean Bush’s war is going so well and all. As it turns out, Reid actually told Pace to his face that he was incompetent. AFAIC, Pace is a disgusting homohater and Bush ass-kisser – incompetent is to my mind a rather mild description of the jerk.

As for Petraeus, GP is being a bit misleading since not even The Politico has a specific quote by Reid. Perhaps GP has another source for the “incompetent” quote he claims was directed against Petraeus. Finally, where is written that Senators cannot criticize generals? Even St. John McCain does it and I don’t recall the Mighty Wurlitzer taking him to task for it. What hypocrisy! But I guess IOKIYAR.

#7 And I think the most amazing economic recovery since Ronald Maximus as well, can be attributed to the Bush 43 tax cuts. Allowing hard working Americans to keep more of their own money. Harry Reid…one of the top dogs in the Democrat party. Not much more needs to be said. I remember not long ago “real estate” Harry took a shot at VP Cheney’s poll numbers. hehe Reid wishes his polls were in the 30′s.
Another accomplishment of Bush 43 is personally wiretapping terrorist calls to American leftists, which has kept us from another 9/11. So far at least. Most of us assumed another attack was just days or weeks away. Do you remember that feeling?

#2 – No, sonicfrog, unfortunately we the people cannot “impeach” Congress. Believe it or not, under Article I and the “necessary and proper” clause, Congress itself is given the power to govern itself.

Talk about letting the inmates run the asylum. Oh, wait, that’s the HuffPo and DailyKos as well.

Very good points. So then the issue will be how fast or how far will that nominee run away from the Bush presidency? They’ll have to distance themselves from him without seeming to repudiate the principles he stood for, trying to inherit the mantle of the leader in the war on terror without actually standing behind the management of that war. Will be an interesting campaign, that’s for sure.

If you really want to remove Harry Reid and the worst of the Democrats, start enforcing immigration laws — which means arresting and deporting illegal immigrants, as well as punishing those who employ them.

You’ll be amazed at the effect it has on Democrat vote counts.

How long before Reid puts out a statement saying his words were taken out of context, and what he was “really” saying was that they “appeared” incompetent because their commander-in-chief is incompetent?

Can we impeach Harry Reid?

PS. The Republicans should be thanking Reid for giving them a BIG FAT damning sound byte to be used in the presidential campaign.
