No kidding they were a “test” against the incoming PM. Like Iran’s hostage taking at sea. Between America and the UK, the UK is the “weak horse” (to apply Bin Laden’s imagery).

But they’re more than a test – they have real propaganda and morale value for the current crop of underground jihadists. It’s a bit for them to champ at (again, sticking with the horse imagery).

Well I thank God that bumper sticker didn’t do much damage in GLA or the other bumper stickers in London. We might have to hide behind our spouses/partners etc. and beg them to be nice bumper stickers.

Given that none of the bombs went off and the Jeep at GLA did relatively little damage, I gotta agree with that.

It was interesting. Yesterday on FNC, they speculated on four events that might have spurred these attempted attacks:

1. Gordon Brown becoming PM
2. Wimbeldon
3. The memorial concert for Princess Di’s birthday.
4. The London Gay Pride parade.

Ummmmm….. I choose door #1 Monty.

Although, it could be all four combined. Wouldn’t surprise me.
