Gay Debate Update: Will Edwards Need A Cootie Shield?
The “Breck Girl” herself may need to protect himself during the upcoming “Gay Debate”.
(Note: “Breck Girl” is a mocking term also used over at Pam’s House Blend, so it must be okay since that is a huge lefty/lib site and liberals are allowed more freedom of expression than conservatives these days.)

After all, it was not that long ago that us gays made John Edwards very squeamish….
In his new memoir, “No Excuses: Concessions of a Serial Campaigner,” Shrum recalls asking Edwards at the outset of that campaign, “What is your position, Mr. Edwards, on gay rights?”
“I’m not comfortable around those people,” Edwards replied, according to Shrum. He writes that the candidate’s wife, Elizabeth, told him: “John, you know that’s wrong.”
Maybe Elizabeth can stand next to him and make sure none of “those people” get too close to him. I’ll be sure to watch if Edwards quickly washes his hands after greeting Melissa Etheridge.
Oh and add Edwards’ comfortability around “those people” to the list of questions that Abortion King Joe Solomonese will NOT ask during the debate. That’s in addition to questions about Islamists lopping off the heads of gays in their crusade to cleanse the world. (Is someone keeping track of “topics we won’t speak about”?)

Actually, it was nearly a decade ago. And it was what, just a few days ago when John McCain was berating his staff for making him wear “gay sweaters”. Yeah, I’m sure McCain feels real comfortable around gay people especially after his Florida campaign co-chair was caught soliciting a b.j. in a public restroom. In fact is there any Repub Presidential candidate other than St. Rudy who doesn’t simply loathe gay people?

Ian – But it is the Dem candidates who pander for your money, lie to you about their support of your issues, and then stab you in the back when it comes time for important matters.
Makes you wonder who the real fools are, doesn’t it?

Bruce, could I answer that last question? PLEEEEEASE??

#2: So, Bruce, are you saying that we never accept that people can change in their attitudes towards gay people over the course of a decade? Do we write off everyone middle age and older and just wait for them to die off?

You mean, apply the same standard to Democrats that you do to Republicans, Ian?

Which Republicans are going?
LMAO.
Keep talking about cooties and Breck….

So is Mr Edwards a closet gay or a metro sexual or…
And since he is comfortable refering to “those people” a questioner needs to ask if he has ever used the “N” word.

The source of his recent discomfort is obvious. Look at the picture.

Which is the best theme song for the Edwards campaign:
A: “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon
B: “(I am) Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera
C: “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross
D: “Hair” from the musical of the same name
Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Which Republicans are going?
LMAO.
Keep talking about cooties and Breck….
Let’s see.
Republicans say “No thanks” to a “debate” with two partisan “moderators”, both of whom, aside from not being journalists or having any such ethical background, have regularly expressed nothing but hate and contempt for Republicans, and sponsored by an organization whose sole goal is to “become a steady source of funds and grass-roots support for Democrats—more akin to a labor union than a single-issue activist group.”
Meanwhile, when confronted with the possibility of real journalists asking real questions on a Fox News-televised debate, the Democrat candidates run screaming.
Uh huh.

I have a “gay sweater” question.
I was watching (sort of in passing) some show where hair stylists go and work at someone else’s salon and the one guy who owned his own place went to work at a swanky place and he didn’t dress right so the one, obviously gay, guy said he had a load of clothes in his car to take to Goodwill and they made the other guy go look through it and change into something else.
So he comes out in this shirt that was nice but obviously not what he was comfortable in and he says, “So they make me wear this gay lumberjack shirt.”
Was that homophobic?
Is that worse, using “gay” to actually mean “homosexual”, than using “gay” to mean “lame?”

Ah yes, the old “Everyone who works for Fox is anti-Democrat and hates us” thing that Bill Clinton tried on Chris Wallace.
Which collapsed when they found out that Chris Wallace is a registered Democrat.
Furthermore, as an evaluation of donations by journalists showed, Fox, which allows its employees to make political donations, had people giving to both — unlike other media groups, who were overwhelmingly Democrat-only.
Both Joe Solmonese and Melissa Ethridge have publicly stated they oppose Republicans and will do everything in their power to elect Democrats. They are completely anti-Republican and have deliberately done everything they can to smear and publicly bash Republicans — while supporting Democrats who support the FMA and other things that they previously screamed were “homophobic”.

#12 actually loads of high school kids now say something is “gay” meaning lame. I think it is sad that adults in their lives don’t call em on it.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — July 14, 2007 @ 10:50 pm - July 14, 2007
I hope you know that you are splitting the gay vote, we need to vote as a block of Dems,
the Republicans want to put us to death way more than any Dem does. And Giuliani did a bad job by locating the emergency responce office in the twin towers.
Comment by Ty Jones — July 15, 2007 @ 12:52 am - July 15, 2007
#14 I meant to say that I figured that “gay” as “lame” was worse, really, and I’d definitely say something. The teens I generally am exposed to don’t use it, however. I know that my daughter, who speaks to more random teenagers than I do, has taken others to task for the usage.
Characterizing things like clothing as “gay” and meaning “homosexual” might be bad, but I think that usually it doesn’t imply much either way about a person’s opinion of homosexuals or homosexuality.
#15 Geez Louise.

#14: I will rephrase my question so even you can understand it: what evidence do you have that Solmomese and Etheridge would have been the moderators for a Repub debate?
Comment by Ian S — July 15, 2007 @ 9:19 am - July 15, 2007
I lov liberals. Rudy is blamed for putting the emergency response center in the twin towers. If a small building was blown up by a truck bomb, they would have said “why didn’t he locate the emergency response center in like a large building that could have withstood an attack, like , like the twin towers.” They just aren’t serious people.

Hey Bruce, did ya ever consider that your christian hetero conservatives are champing at the bit to cut your head off too?
Comment by sinnerjizm — July 16, 2007 @ 12:52 pm - July 16, 2007
Funny, sinnerjizm, you don’t care when Democrats publicly proclaim they share the values of those people who you claim are “champing at the bit to cut your head off”.
I will rephrase my question so even you can understand it:
You mean, you will change your question because the last one you asked got slapped down.
Comment by North Dallas Thirty — July 16, 2007 @ 6:43 pm - July 16, 2007
Did I miss something. When did right wing church goers threaten to cut off the heads of gay men? Or threaten to kill us in other ways. I don’t discount the odd nutt case. But comparing conservative or libertarian church goers to the islamo fascists is quite the stretch.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — July 16, 2007 @ 8:44 pm - July 16, 2007
John Edwards is possibly the strongest, most electable candidate the Democrats could put up in 2008. Bill Richardson is also a very strong, electable candidate. I am presently undecided between the two of them. I will never vote for a Republican who panders to the Religious Right, which is way too influential in the GOP. I hope the Republicans lose the White House in 2008. I am glad they lost control of the Congress in 2006. The American people spoke very clearly then and will do so again next year.
