Hillary Heralds Dishonest Man’s Endorsement of her White House bid

July 16, 2007 by GayPatriotWest

In announcing that “leading Iraq war critic” Joe Wilson has joined her campaign, Hillary commented:

I admire Joe Wilson’s courage in standing up to this administration and holding it accountable for the misinformation that led us into the Iraq war. . . . I’m honored to have his support as we do everything in our power to bring this war to an end and begin bringing our troops home safely.

Note the clever wordsmithing here. She says she admires his courage. She doesn’t reference his actual statements.

Given her use of the term, “misinformation,” I wonder what she has to say about the “misinformation” Mr. Wilson provided to the media. Given the problems she and her husband have with the truth, it’s interesting that her campaign would highlight the endorsement of a man who rose to fame by dishonestly accusing the Bush Administration of lying.

I’m just trying to fathom why her campaign would highlight the endorsement of a man who lost his job for the Kerry campaign when his “misinformation” was brought to light. Todd Beeton thinks it’s “clearly part of Clinton’s strategy to gain support among the liberal base, the blogosphere in particular, which she has conspicuously held at arm’s length.” According to blogger Cadillac Tight which alerted me to Beeton’s comment, Wilson is quite possibly “the biggest leftosphere celebrity extant.” (Via Instapundit.)

Interesting that a dishonest man would become a celebrity of the left-wing blogosphere. I mean, he’s most famous for saying something which, I repeat, has long since been discredited.

I thought I might be able to offer a more clever rejoinder to this endorsement, but am feeling a bit off today.

I’m certain (not) someone in the MSM will ask Her Highness about her past statements in support of the war (especially the one where she says she consulted people from Bill’s administration whom she trusted).

A liar gets a liars endorsement. Big deal.

Interesting how she continues to surround herself with people with criminal or shady pasts. More likely to step to the edge of the law, so that if anything hits the fan, she can put full blame on them.
So let’s see…..Soros is a big contributor and partner in reshaping the country in their image.
Then, she hires an impeached federal judge to work on her campaign.
And a former president of la Raza.
And now a confirmed by the senate ‘liar’.

I’m waiting for the media to ask her about these connections that don’t look good. I better not hold my breath.

ACK…read that wrong. He is endorsing her, not getting paid by her (that we know of)

Hmmm…from your headline, I thought that Bush or Cheney was supporting her.

Oh, and as far a criminal and shady past: In 2001, Bush hired/appointed more convicted criminals than any other president, so look that up in your fun and wagnalls.

Yeah people, get with the program. Bush is shady too, so it’s ok if Democrats do it!

What a world we have if we’re all using Bush as the standard for moral equivalence.

    Kevin,
    Convicted criminals? Please name them.
When the GOP smells corrupt, their voters throw them out or they step down or they go to jail.
When a dem smells corrupt, they continue to serve and their supporters make excuses.

Ah yes, the “courage” involved in appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair.

Well, it’s another case of “the dishonest leading the dishonest” – nothing new.

Kevin, the president’s critics keep repeating the lie that Bush & Cheney are dishonest, yet continue to fail to provide specific examples of their dishonesty. I continue to link to news reports showing how Joe Wilson lied in making the charges which earned him fame.

So, I repeat Ana’s request that you name the criminals the president appointed and provide appropriate links.

Just saw your comment, ILoveCapitalism, was wondering the same thing myself. Is it courage to tell the chattering classes what they want to hear?

It isn’t – but the chattering classes themselves want to believe it is, and need to tell everyone it is, in order to keep their game going.

If there’s one thing I would love, it would be to get Plame up on the stand, ask her what the requirements were for an NOC, which she claimed to be…..and then go over how she systematically broke most of them.

She worked at Langley — CIA headquarters — and drove in and out of it every day.

She used the US Embassy as an address in her previous “cover work”.

She was known to be a CIA agent by both friendly (due to her work as a handling officer on visits of high-ranking officials overseas) and unfriendly (thanks to Aldrich Ames’s outing her to the Soviet and Russian intelligence agencies, and the CIA’s own inadvertent outing her to Cuba).

She sent her own husband to Niger with instructions to tell everyone with whom he talked that he was working on behalf of the CIA and the United States government — a fact which he proudly recounted in his own editorial.

If Plame was truly an example of CIA ultra-secret covert operations, we are in even more trouble than we thought.

Hey, Jimmy’s comment (#12) raises an interesting question–can you imagine a Republican candidate for president trumpeting Libby’s endorsement?
