Cindy Sheehan Chickens Out In Charlotte, Blames Police & Vets

July 20, 2007 by GayPatriot

There has been quite a kerfuffle the past couple of days in Charlotte, NC.  Retired Washed-Up Living Dead Renewed War Protest Queen Cindy Sheehan is apparently on some kind of “listening tour” of the USA.  She made a stop in Charlotte on Tuesday.  As is the case with most things Cindy, her visit to the Queen City was farcical and made worse by the hysterical lies Sheehan and her supporters are trying to peddle in the aftermath.

Here’s the skinny…. on Tuesday Momma Sheehan showed up to protest at US Rep. Mel Watts’ (D-NC) Charlotte office.  He wasn’t there, of course, as he was holding court with the Do-Nothing Congress back in Washington, DC.   But Cindy wanted her made-for-TV photo ops calling for Bush’s impeachment at Watts’ office.   And she got it.

But the centerpiece of her entire visit to Charlotte was supposed to be a rally at Bryant Park on Tuesday afternoon.  Cindy never got out of her car at Bryant Park.  She has since made unsubstantiated allegations of “threats” as her reason for high-tailing it away from counter-protestors waiting to see her at Bryant Park.   The pro-military, veterans group “Gathering of Eagles” was there to protest Sheehan’s visit.   Cindy doesn’t like being questioned and has now flung undocumented accusations of intimidation and violence far and wide against my fine city.

In her blog, Sheehan said that there was a “police presence that seemed to be there to foster violence.”

She noted that the police, citing freedom of speech, refused to separate her group and its opponents, a national group called the Gathering of Eagles.

“But the Eagles’ freedom of speech has included physical threats against me and actual physical force against kids and women. When the Charlotte police were told this, they said that they couldn’t keep them apart from our group until the Eagles actually did something.”

Sheehan, one of the best-known opponents of the war in Iraq, stayed in her car during the rally that drew about 125 people.

An organizer for the counterprotesters said there was never any threat of violence.

“We are loud and we are proud and we will counterprotest and exercise our First Amendment rights at the top of our lungs,” said George Samek, recruiter for the Gathering of Eagles.

Samek said he talked with leaders from the other side before the protests started.

“I said we were very verbal and not to expect any leniency, but I told them, `You have nothing to fear from us. We’ll be screaming at you and calling you names … but we had amputees with us, we had children with us, we didn’t want any violence.’ “

To further the ridiculousness of her claim, Cindy actually had the cojones (am I allowed to use such a masculine term?) to call into the Keith Larson Show on WBT-AM on Thursday morning.   Keith repeatedly asked her to substantiate her claims of threats from either the police or the Gathering of Eagles.   Cindy’s response?  She hung up on him.

Wow.   And this is a person who wants to run for Congress against Nancy Pelosi?   She better get used to being challenged in public and facing protests.   That’s the nature of our political process.  Although, I’m sure Cindy would feel more comfortable being in a legislature in a more rigid system like…say…. Venezuela?

Sounds like a typical leftie anti-military smear job.

Perhaps like the stuff we see here: Haditha, keogh / Gitmo “torture”, and the other fictions such accusers tragically disgrace themselves with.

As I said in a previous post, the tide is turning on our enemy and liberalism. Victory is within months after a long drawn out conflict and if we let them (left wing Dems & Reps), they will declare defeat until they get what they so clearly want.

DEFEAT THE ENEMY, minimize the left wing and continue the mission in 2008 & GOOD will prevail!

I was the Gathering of Eagles Recruitor who lead the counter rally to Cindy Sheehan protest against our nation & our troops.

“No show Cindy” was faceing a group of true Anerican troop supporters without a solid wall of police protection and she skipped out and left her faithful followers to face very verbal Eagles. Shame on Cindy Sheehan.

The Eagle’s intent was to make a lot of noise, disrupt her speech, call her names and try to point out her hypocrisy.
That’s fine. She shows cowardice when she doesn’t stand up and defend her ideals.
However, there are countless accounts of people who have been removed and even arrested trying to peacefully and in some cases silently protest public speeches by Bush.
I wish freedom to gather and speak held to those folks as well.

Yeah gil. The Seattle G8 protest was supposed to be “peaceful” and “silent”, but of course nobody would dare blame those ass clowns for ruining it for everybody.

If that’s what liberals call “peaceful” and “silent”, wouldn’t you want to be kept as far away from that as possible?

MUCH better language here these days. Thank you guys.

I was thinking about all this stuff about Cindy Sheehan. I think she just needs more and more attention and there’s something wrong with that. I do sympathize with her loss of her son. Who wouldn’t? But she’s just going on and on about it. She attacks people like us who support the war as if we’re the problem. She really doesn’t understand that WE didn’t start this war. Saddam started it when he sent the Saudis to attack us on 9.11. We had every right to fight back. So, I think she’s just misguided and I actually feel bad for her.

But she’s only one voice and there are a lot of others now against the war — about a third of the people wanting out now, if I’m reading the polls correctly. So, as the anti-war crowd grows, I am less optimistic about the outcome of the war, especially with the do-nothing Dim-o-crat Congress seeming determined to end it (can you call Congress do-nothing after six months? I think so.), and with the issue with the military being stretched so far, and all that.

In fact, I am SO disgusted with what I’m hearing that I was thinking about joining the military. I’m only 32 and in good shape (I think) and I checked and found that they are taking men and women as old as 40 (and if you’re in the Guard, even older, I think, maybe like 60 or something).

From their words, I think some here have already served (especially that one with the former potty mouth — you know who you are dear). But what about the rest of you? Will you join me in joining up? Never mind you liberals here. We do not expect you to sacrifice for your country. You NEVER do. It’s always our side who does the fighting. I’m talking to just the conservative men here. So strong. So valiant. And the military and our President need us.

So who among ye, as Jesus says, will join me and make this a crusade and really stand up for something we all believe in?. ANd we can always stand down later as we lift up the Iraqs and get them to stand up — provided they do not sit back down again and force us to stay there longer just getting them back on their feet. WE CAN DO THIS. Play revelry fellows, the Gay Patriots are coming!

Samantha, here’s what you’ve told us (among other things):

    – Incorrectly, you think Saddam “started the war when he sent the Saudis to attack us on 9-11”. (He did start it, but in other ways.)
    – At least partly incorrectly, you think a “lot” people – a “growing” number – want America out of Iraq, according to the latest polls.
    – Incorrectly, you think that the military takes new recruits aged 40-60.
    – Incorrectly, you think that just about anyone of the right age can sign up for the military, who wants to.
    – Incorrectly, you think that anyone who loves our troops in Iraq, and supports them in completing their supported mission, has some kind of religious or moral obligation to be in the military.
    – Partly incorrectly, you think that the Iraq war is a religious “crusade”. (It is for the Islamists, not us.)
    – Incorrectly, you think it will appeal to people on this blog if you invoke Jesus. (You did it pretty crudely.)

Long story short, your post reads rather like a satire or leftist “troll” of what you (incorrectly) believe people on this blog should want to hear. Simple question – one hopefully having a very straightforward, easy answer: What other names do you use, or have you used, to comment on on GayPatriot?

OT: Harry Greid schemes to gut earmark reform; keep pork flowing to companies that employ the families of Democrat Senators. The Democrats now own the Culture of Corruption. How proud you blinkered shills must be.

So, the Democrat party agenda seems to consist of:
    – Losing the war in Iraq
    – Raising Taxes
    – Gutting earmark reform, and larding up bills with pork
    – Letting terrorists sue ordinary citizens for reporting suspicious activity
    – Censoring free speech through the Fairness Doctrine
    – Endless investigations of non-scandals (the U.S. Attorneys, Val Plame, Scooter Libby)
    – Amnesty for Illegal Alien Felons and Gang Bangers

The only worse embarrassment is that the gutless and brainless GOP can’t take advantage of the huge opportunities the social Democrats are handing them.

    I love Cindy Sheehan.

    Face it. Anyone who:

    1. Diverts leftist money from the more ‘mainstream’ wing and candidates of the Democratic Party;
    2. Distracts powerful incumbency;
    3. Fractures, in Ned Lamont style, any perception of a monolith;
    4. Perhaps she mistook her 12-step meeting with Toastmasters (cheers!), but with a speaking ability of an autistic Liz Taylor, she is for Republicans, media ambrosia;
    5. Allows the GOP to once again shed the embalming fluid. McClintock, Lundgren…anyone?
    6. In the remote event of her victory, would Sheehan ever, EVER be taken seriously?
*audience roars with laughter, general applause*

Oh, don’t get me started — don’t even get me started. Now if we can get artist and bathroom fixture heiress Karen Findley to run against the Brechtian Mother Courage Feinstein, Kalifornya is in business!

Seriously, folks — Sheehan’s the best friend the California State Republican Party has had in probably a long time and heck, I’ll probably send her campaign some bucks. In fact, I’ll contribute a slogan.

“Sheehan, because she can!” No, too obvious and boring.

(In Georgia, a conservative malcontent upsets the status quo Republican establishment candidate in a U.S. House Race. )

As for Sheehan, I think what’s driving her is a victim/martyr complex. She now gets to claim that both parties are victimizing her. Meanwhile, it’s odd that she easily forgives the terrorists that butchered her son, but can’t seem to apply that standard of forgiveness to Bush and Cheney. Almost makes one suspect that she’s in it just for the attention.

She´d have to be a rubber stamp for everything Hugo Chavez decrees (he has 18 months carte blance to govern by decree). If there should be anything with which she would protest against him she´d be dead meat. This A.M. he decreed that any visitor to Venezuela who criticizes him or his government will be deported immediately and visas revoked. Months ago any military personnel who refused the new oath ¨socialism or death¨had to leave the country. He is giving his buddy Daniel Ortega, in Nicaragua, refinery and will divert crude oil to be refined there to raise the economy. Ortega is now singing a chorus of the song the ïmperialists in Washington are paying people to destabilize his government. They have just welcomed a new member of their fraternity, Manuel Zelaya Rosales, the LIberal (left) Party, President of Honduras. He will visit Fidel next month. Ortega laso made a visit to Tehran. Oh, and did anyone see the nice backhand to the Democrat Party and its black racists today?

If it doesn’t make military or economic sense to launch the draft, what about the notion of fairness? Critics have claimed that minorities are over-represented in the all-volunteer military because they have fewer options in the civilian world. The CBO disputes that, saying that “members of the armed forces are racially and ethnically diverse.” African Americans accounted for 13% of active-duty recruits in 2005, just under their 14% share of 17-to-49-year-olds in the overall U.S. population. And minorities are not being used as cannon fodder. “Data on fatalities indicate that minorities are not being killed [in Iraq and Afghanistan] at greater rates than their representation in the force,” the study says. “Rather, fatalities of white service members have been higher than their representation in the force,” in large part because whites are over-represented in the military’s combat, as opposed to support, jobs.

  39. ILoveCapitalism says

    July 23, 2007 at 5:27 pm - July 23, 2007

NDT, also interesting: “…while 91% of last year’s recruits were high school graduates, only 80% of U.S. residents aged 18 to 24 have attained that level of education.” In other words, our brave troops on average are *smarter* than the general population.

The June 15% recruiting drop is worrisome. It would be the first significant recruiting drop to my knowledge – in over 4 years since Saddam was removed – and, in my mind, the first true sign of strain in our armed forces because of the war.

Of course, it may be a simple question of higher pay needed to compete in the booming economy. Let’s trust the military and Secretary of Defense to work it out. (Assuming they can do so, with Dhimmicrat co-operation not obstruction.)

The Democrats are the party of slavery and were the party that started every war in the 20th century, except the other Bush debacle. The Federal Reserve, permanent federal income taxes, not one but two World Wars, Japanese concentration camps, and not one but two atom bombs dropped on the innocent citizens of Japan — all brought to us via the Democrats.

Get it? Assuming accurate transcription by the Chronicle, she is now slamming WW2 and the creation of income taxes. She is so kooky, so deranged, that she is now apparently slamming THE most cherished progressive, left-wing cause of all time! (taxing the rich)

And that’s not all. Nancy Pelosi now officially has a deadline of Monday – that’s right folks, next Monday – to “restore the balance of the universe”(!):

This is the policy Hilldog, Osama Obama, Silky Pony and the rest of the socialist dimwits on the left want to inflict on America. Oy.

Slight correction: Cindy’s article appeared Sunday, July 22… so Pelosi’s deadline to destroy the cackling Emperor and bring balance to the Force may have been yesterday. I.e., already past. (It’s not clear.)

That’s because, to all three of the Dem candidates, $510 a month is pocket change; after all, Johnnie Edwards’s per-minute speaking rate is nearly twice that.

But the reason why is obvious; this is their way of flushing an enormous amount of cash into their hands to spend as they see fit while paying everyone else with IOUs — just like Social Security.

Democrats oppose private anything for one simple reason; it keeps money out of their hands.

Democrats oppose private anything for one simple reason; it keeps money out of their hands.

And Democrats oppose freedom of choice when it comes to education, health care, automobile choice, retirement planning, and pretty much everything except abortion for the simple reason that it deprives them of power; the power to make other people’s choices for them.

51: Really? I’m a liberal democrat and last I checked, no Democrat had stopped my choice of any of these things. Except abortion of course; being a man, I think men should keep their big mouths shut about controlling women…

Well, Kev, your unbroken streak of always being wrong continues. Democrats have opposed and done everything possible to block school vouchers, thus denying millions of parents the opportunity to choose schools for themselves. Democrats want to Nationalize Health Care, in fact, under HillaryCare, it would be illegal for a patient to choose their own doctor. Democrats block and demagogue any attempt to give people like me the choice of putting some of the social security money the government confiscates from my paycheck into private investments, thus denying me that choice. Comgressional Democrats recently passed a bill that mandates what kind of cars the auto companies will be required to build, so in the future, I will be denied my choice of vehicle.

And those are just the tip of the iceberg. There are Democrat employment laws dictating who can and can not be hired or fired and mandating wages. Environmental regulations limit a landowner’s property choices. The Fairness Doctrine and Campaign Finance Reform even seek to limit what opinions are allowed to be expressed.

The list goes on and on. Democrats may not care what you do in your bedroom, but as soon as you step outside, they want to rule your life.

“Only by accepting total compulsion can we achieve total freedom.” – villain Ellsworth Toohey, in _The Fountainhead_ by Ayn Rand.

Naturally, the “freedom” Toohey intends there is freedom from all personal choice, responsibility and risk. He is a left-leaning, humanitarian liberal.

And what I find funny relative to abortion is this; the Endangered Species Act specifically states that it is just as criminally wrong to kill an embryonic animal or to cause an animal to abort as it is to kill an adult animal.

When it comes to human beings, though, Democrats fully support killing them and insist that such embryonic beings are “not human” and “don’t deserve protection” because they’re nothing but “excess tissues” or “parasites”.

And what I find ‘funny’ about the abortion issue is that many supposedly pro-life conservatives refuse to support electable candidates who are against partial-birth abortion but are otherwise moderate or liberal on the issue, thus being staunch defenders of the status quo. They fall on their swords and, not surprisingly, ensure that babies are killed in the process.

What I find funny about the abortion issue is that the liberal pro abortionists are so vehemently opposed to the death penalty. The poor being is executed without the benefit of a trial. Its only crime was coming into existence. I´d rather see that its life is spared and maybe it will make a valuable contribution to society while capital punishment removes a cancer from society.

Wasn’t partial-birth abortion banned already, at the federal level? Wasn’t the 2003 version upheld by SCOTUS? Not sure here.

The difference between gays and lesbians fighting amongst themselves is that lesbians will actually hurt each other. Don’t believe me? Try breaking up a girl fight.

Gay men fighting is almost an oxymoron. Clutch those pearls and swing that Prada, baby! 😉

    Which reminds me, TGC –

Joan Rivers once described in her book “Enter Talking” an episode where her mother, sister and aunt ganged up on these Brooklyn boys that Joan had called to help her out of some mess. Her description of it was priceless:

“It was a class war. Three Jewish women, none over five feet tall, screaming obscenities and swinging Hermes purses at these tall gangly Italian hoods, who were cowering for dear life.”

    What a picture!
