And yes, melissa etheridge is an idiot, but in all fairness, from what Ive seen she cant be any worse than those “professionals” who have been questioning the candidates on CNN and MSNBC so far. She may very well have done better (I didnt watch, and I havent read the transcripts yet).

And the idea that the American people, even the stupid ones, are not qualified to question the candidates rubs me the wrong way. Its an elitist idea that I think should be rejected. The “professionals” are so intent on trying to trap candidates with leading questions, that we voters hardly ever end up learning anything we didnt already know.

Ive always thought the town hall style debates where the people were doing the questioning (yes, I know that the questions are mostly hand picked) end up being far more informative.

(Of course I’ll probably find out that Etheridge was a blithering idiot and not only embarrassed the entire gay “community” but her entire sex, the whole country, the western hemisphere and the human race as well…but I still stand by my opinion as a matter of principle) :^)

If you aren’t, then don’t bother giving us lectures about “putting our money where our mouth is”.
