A man on his way to New York City was a couple rows behind me on my flight today from Birmingham to Charlotte:

“I don’t think people elsewhere understand that the other sport in Alabama besides football is dodging State Troopers on the interstates.” – On cultural differences between the South and other parts of the USA.

And the other sport in NYC besides the Yankees is to avoid getting mugged on West 47th Street.

Alabama, Louisiana and sometimes Mississippi. Mostly Louisiana moreso than Alabama I’d say.

In the first 3 years here in Florida, I could count the number of times I saw a state trooper on one hand and that was driving I-4 from Lakeland to Tampa every day.

TGC, watch out on I-10 if you are heading to Lake Charles to gamble. Those Louisiana cops love to pull over Texas plates. They usually hang out around mile marker 20 outside of Sulphur.

Haven’t been to Louisiana (or even I-10) in 7 years. There’s plenty of Seminole Hard Rock casinos over here with one right outside Tampa.
