Real “Shock & Awe”

This incredible story did indeed give me chills and I couldn’t let this one go by unnoticed. Spc. Channing Moss was about to be written off for dead after being impaled by a live RPG, when his buddies and medical personnel “broke protocol” by risking their lives to save his. I cannot help but see a touch of the miraculous here and thank God for it, along with once again being stunned by the caliber of men and women we have serving in uniform.
Spc. Channing Moss should be dead by all accounts. And those who saved his life did so knowing they might have died with him…
…Protocol, as far as Oh [the surgeon] knew, dictated that someone in Moss’s condition be placed in a sandbagged bunker and listed as “expectant,” which means he would be expected to die because nothing could be done for him.
But Oh believed something could be done for the wounded soldier before him.
He “was still talking to me,” Oh recalled. He choked back tears as he explained: “When he comes in like that, there’s no way you can give up at that point.”
After the EOD team arrived, Oh warned the volunteers one last time that the surgery could cost everyone their lives.
The operating room crew prepped Moss for surgery…
I’m speechless. You can watch the video interview here.

Heroes all! Sometimes we do not have to scale the mountain, we only have to tell the mountain to get out of the way.

The video and accompanying article are must-sees.
There aren’t words to express my admiration and respect for the courage and compassion exhibited by these brave men.

Thank you John for the video. Our men and women in the field are amazing people. I was very touched by the Dr’s tears. He doesn’t take for granted what he did.
It was wonderful to see SPC Channing Moss home with his wife, daughter and new baby. We are truely blessed to have such people serving us.

Yesterday at Temple the Rabbi made reference to this awesome story. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room as he told the story of these heroic people. Thanks for posting it here….indeed G-d lives in the hearts and souls of these great soldiers.

How long before Murtha and the defeatocrats call for an investigation?

I’m speechless; this man should not be alive.
This is beyond astonishment!

OT:
Even more shocking is that the NYT admits they gave a huge discount to MorOn.org after denying it.

Says Spc. Moss, as he was being choppered around and thought he would surely die:
And then he turns out to have live ordnance in him. And they take care of it, and he survives. These guys are amazing.
I’ve said it before, will say it again: The anti-war Left DOES NOT want to deal with this information. I.e., with the fact that these guys are heroes, in the right cause – who make the rest of us look like nothing in comparison, including the anti-war Left.

Slight correction – Please substitute “anti-military Left”, for where I mis-spoke and said “anti-war Left”. (I’m anti-war. The characteristic of the people I had in mind is not their being anti-war, but their being anti-U.S. military.)
