There are days when so many things go wrong that at first you want to give up, then all of a sudden when it occurs to you how insignificant those things are, you realize how fortunate you are. And then it seems almost as if the day has begun anew — and you have a renewed burst of energy.
I won’t detail you with all the little things that went (or seemed to go) wrong today because I don’t post this asking for your sympathy or pity. I’m sure you’ve had similar days. And perhaps like me, when you realized how small, in the great scheme of things, were these little mishaps, you’re better able to take stock of your own good fortune.
I guess that’s why, I am actually grateful for all the things that went wrong today.
Yesterday for me was a nightmare. Cat peed on laptop, among other things…thankfully, the ThinkPad T42 survived after following standard spill procedures. Must get another one.
GPW, great attitude.
Must get another one.
Cat or Thinkpad?

Credit where it’s due, that’s actually funny! As for Dan’s post, I have to agree: I don’t have to look beyond friends and family to see debilitating and terminal illness so the annoying little stuff really becomes inconsequential.
New ThinkPad would be good, can’t get rid of the cat, even if she is a bit deranged. Not her fault, I think she was abused before I adopted her a few years ago. She was 6 or 7 then.
Hey Dan, you’ll appreciate this: You sound exactly like my Irish-Catholic immigrant Mom did when my brothers and I were complaining about this or that… her sage advice was to “Count your blessings”.
Funny how true the advice, some consider to be cliche, can ring. Thanks for the reminder.
