Gore Wins Nobel Prize, Reacts

October 12, 2007 by GayPatriot

After the announcement of his Nobel Prize, Al Gore gave some comments to the press today….

[T]he life of all mankind is in danger because of global warming resulting to a large degree from the emissions of the factories of the major corporations; yet despite that, the representative of these corporations in the White House insists on not observing the Kyoto accord, with the knowledge that the statistics speak of the death and displacement of millions of human beings because of global warming, especially in Africa.

Oops, my bad.    That was actually Osama bin Laden in one of his September rants against America. (h/t – The Corner)

It is so hard to distinguish anti-Americanism these days.

What’s “extra ignorant” about the quote from al-Goretoo as given, is that:

    1) In fact, it was a bi-partisan Congress under Clinton and al-Goretoo that rejected Kyoto – not Bush;

    2) In fact, the Bush Administration has been pursuing a much more effective solution to human-generated CO2 than anything found in Kyoto – a solution that developing economies can work with and that, unlike Kyoto, includes India and China; and

    3) Because Kyoto excludes India and China and because of several other fundamental problems with it, Kyoto is considered dead by all governments interested in genuine CO2 control.

I’ve posted articles / links on GP in the past, covering all the above points.

What is Un-American about being concerned about global warming. If Osama Bin Laden believes Pythagoras Theorem to be true, would it be Un-american to teach it at high-school.
It is undifferentiated views like these and throwing everyone you disagree with in one pot with Osama Bin Laden that turns people who would be naturally inclined to agree with America and to side with it off and therefore makes the fight against terrorism which should be a joint global effort so much harder. It also turns America into such a partisan nation, with people on both sides of the political spectrum not listening to each other anymore. For comparing Al Gore with Osama Bin Laden, no matter how negative your view of Al Gore is, you still must have a very positive image of Bin Laden to be capable to do so.

Transferring the following from another thread where it was less topical:

A British High Court judge finds that al-Goretoo’s film is indeed “propaganda” and has nine major scientific errors.

Bruce – I’m happy that you corrected your mistake. What Al actually said was “Bow before me, you ignorant proles!” (or something like that).

    So the Nobel board said:

There may be increased danger of violent conflicts and wars, within and between states.

So now they give out awards based on what might happen in the future? Besides, what has Algore actually done to stop global warmism? Flying around in a private jet to belch hot air at a room full of people who drove in for the “pleasure” doesn’t seem like it would help.

Let’s see: Al’s won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy and now the Nobel Peace Prize: the only thing left is a Tony for: ‘An Inconvenient Truth: The Musical’ (starring Nathan Lane as Al Gore and Harvey Fierstein -in drag – as Mother Nature…).

From the press release: “Al Gore has for a long time been one of the world’s leading environmentalist politicians. … His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change.”

Struggle against climate change? Why not struggle against continental drift while you’re at it? It’s idiotic to believe that the Earth has only one static climate, and sheer hubris/arrogance/narcissism to believe that the Earth’s one ideal perfect climate just happened to exist during the youth of the baby boom generation.

That would put him one up on Rita Moreno, who has yet to win a Nobel prize.

For those of a certain age, “…it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.” **whooosh** Maybe that explains the sudden cold-snap here in the Northeast. Bwahahhahahaha….

And don’t forget the post-WW1 diplomatic-dupes who were awarded the “Peace Prize” while setting the stage for WW2 like Kellogg, Briand, Chamberlain and Wilson.

The WSJ put together a list of folks who have actually put their lives on the line for peace.

These men and women put their own lives and livelihoods at risk by working to rid the world of violence and oppression. Let us hope they survive the coming year so that the Nobel Prize Committee might consider them for the 2008 award.

And let’s not forget that Algore is on record advocating war on more than one occasion.

To hell with Algore and the Nobel “Peace” prize.

So let him run around with his trophies. Legitimate scientist and thinking people know that it is a global warming as expounded by Gore is a myth. When you see people in Buffalo standing in snow up to their butt, the message just doesn´t resonate. Scientists have shown that the planet went through in the 30´s. then cooled off again. So it is cyclical just like four seasons.

The names of previous winners that scare me are Jimmy ¨the traitor¨Carter who never misses an opportunity to be anti-American and Rigoberta Menchu Tum. She wants to be president of Guatemala and that scares the s**t out of me. She is an ally of Castro, Chavez and Ortega. President Zelaya of Honduras, a leftist, is beginning to get chummy with Ortega. The pressure they will exert on El Salvador to elect a communist government. Mauricio Funes, a left wing news commentator, is a candidate for the FMLN. With petro dollars from Chavez he could buy the election.

When Al Gore collects an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammie and a Nobel all in a small moment in time, it is worth wondering what the world has come to. These “prizes” are the coin of the realm to the “enlightened” liberal elite. My question is: Don’t they have someone of more substance than Al Gore? Why not Michael Moore or Al Sharpton or Charles Schumer or Ken Livingston or Ceasar Chavez or Barbara Streisand or perky Katie Couric or Jimmy Carter (again.)? Al Gore? That is the best they have got?

Maybe the Nobel Peace Prize Committee appreciates that it can gain more attention through controversy than awarding competent laureates? Maybe the ManBearPigKiller is a good choice from that perspective? It keeps the NPP front-n-center in the news and appearing relevant.

And even the most-conservative characters here have to admit that the Prize has gone to a few good folks in the 100+ years: like the Dalai Lama, Elie Wiesel (sp?), Lech Walesa, Mother Teresa, Sakharov, Gen Marshall, Dr Schweitzer, Kim Dae-jung and others. And the year it went to the PLO pig and crook Yasser, it also went to Peres and Rabin, no? So they get it wrong once in a while… some of those other picks are worth a blunder or two.

I think this year’s prize in Chemistry to Prof Ertl, in Physics to Profs Fert and Grunberg and in Economics to American professors Maskin, Myerson and Hurwicz are brilliant choices… if it means we have to take ManBearPigKiller in the mix, well hell, it’s worth it.

And by the way, Bruce, didn’t someone from UNC get the prize in Medicine for cryin’ out loud. Now there’s something more worthy to brag about in the South than NASCAR. (jk)

Sander, the Pythagoras Theorem is absolutely provable, A2 + B2 = C2 (don’t know how to do squared in HTML). AGW cause by man made CO2… not so much. CO2 has not been shown to cause global warming at anytime in the worlds history (note the lack of correlation in the Carboniferous and Cretaceous periods). There has never been an ultra-sensitive relationship between CO2 and temp. Without the computer models predicting the future, there is no solid proof that CO2 is the MAIN cause of the last recent warming phase. Does it contribute – certainly. But cause en toto? We are at this moment in a stable temp phase, with no avg temp rise within the last six to nine years (depending on the data smoothing method climatologists use to display avg temp) and at the same time the sun’s sunspot cycle is, unexpectedly, entering a quiet phase. This will be a wonderful opportunity to evaluate the relationship between sunspots and climate temp.

PS. Here are the predictions of sunspot activity via computer models, and here is the sun’s real world status.
