BREAKING NEWS: Alleged Child Sex Predator Was Stafferat Human Rights Campaign

Well, well, well.

The U.S. Senate aide arrested for arranging a three-way with an undercover informant and who he thought was a 13-year-old male was previously an employee with the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest GLBT rights group. Mike McHaney, 28, was fired from his job as a scheduler for Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell of Washington state within hours his arrest for attempting to sexually exploit a minor.

McHaney, who remains in federal custody without bond at least until a hearing tomorrow, was arrested by FBI agents after showing up to meet a cooperating witness and the fictional teen.

Brad Luna, an HRC spokesperson, confirmed that McHaney worked as an executive scheduler for the D.C.-based gay rights group from September 2005 to May 2006.

The Gay Left cabal must be close to a complete meltdown.   After all, for three years they have been criminalizing and personally punishing gay Americans for merely not towing the liberal political line on gay policy issues.

But now they would have to make a moral equivalent of an alleged child sex predator commiting an actual crime to merely denying your gay sexual preferences.  Otherwise, wouldn’t they be outraged and condemn the emerging Democrat child sex predator problem they have.   Because, there is no equivalent here.

I wonder do the masters of outing gay Republicans believe that being a child predator the same as being against same-sex marriage?

The cricket-chirping silence of condemnation of the liberal bloggers and the MSM about James “Mike” McHaney arrest is now becoming uber-deafening.

In addition to his HRC experience, it turns out that McHaney is quite the seasoned Democratic political operative.  Dick Gephardt, John Kerry.  Wow.

Picture of alleged child sex predator and
Democrat Party activist, James Michael McHaney.

One has to ask the following question, since it was repeated ad nauseum during the Mark Foley affair:   Who knew and/or enabled Mike McHaney’s alleged child sex predatory activities?

Mike Meehan, Sen. Cantwell’s chief of staff, worked with McHaney at Kerry 2004 HQ.  Did Meehan bring McHaney along to Cantwell’s office?  What does Meehan know about McHaney’s history and when did he know it?

And do McHaney and Lane Hudson — revealer of all things Mark Foley — know each other?  After all, they both worked for the HRC, John Kerry for President and Rep. Rodney Alexander.  It stretches the imagination to think Hudson and McHaney don’t know each other.   If so, what does Hudson know about McHaney’s child sex predatory ways?

If the Republicans have a closeted gay denial issue, it appears the Democrats have a closeted child sex predator who-happens-to-be issue.  I’ll let you decide which is the crime.

The onion is just beginning to be peeled back, folks.

Global Warming: The Joooos Are To Blame

Or at least their pesky religious traditions (how inconsiderate of them).

In a campaign that has spread like wildfire across the Internet, a group of Israeli environmentalists is encouraging Jews around the world to light at least one less candle this Hanukka to help the environment.

The founders of the Green Hanukkia campaign found that every candle that burns completely produces 15 grams of carbon dioxide. If an estimated one million Israeli households light for eight days, they said, it would do significant damage to the atmosphere.

“The campaign calls for Jews around the world to save the last candle and save the planet, so we won’t need another miracle,” said Liad Ortar, the campaign’s cofounder, who runs the Arkada environmental consulting firm and the Ynet Web site’s environmental forum. “Global warming is a milestone in human evolution that requires us to rethink how we live our lives, and one of the main paradigms of that is religion and how it fits into the current situation.” (Jerusalem Post)

Um… if we can’t call environmental extremism a faux religion, will its adherents at least keep their noses out of our faith traditions?

Bonus points to the first MSM outlet that solicits the views of Iranian President Ahmadinawhatevertheheck about this…

UPDATE: Ok, this one gets bonus points for originality as we finally have something that both liberals and conservatives can get behind: Divorce Wrecks Environment Too! Of course the caveat for sosh cons is that this is also an argument for legalizing same-sex marriages (keeping the ol’ “conserve water, shower with a friend” concept in mind): “Save the plant, let gays marry!”

Nominations Open for Grande Conservative Blogress Diva 2008

Filed under: Blogging,Mythology and the real world

As the year draws to a close, it is time once again to choose next year’s Grande Conservative Blogress Diva 2008. Terrified of taking off her tiara, two-time winner Sondra K will be defending her title against what is sure to be tough competition for this coveted honor.

This competition began two years ago, following my post, asking: Who are Our Conservative “Divas”?. There, I noted how most gay men have a great respect, if not reverence for strong women. So, we wondered who were those women who commanded the respect of conservative gay men?

Giving that we’re bloggers and defining “diva” as a strong, successful woman who commands the respect of men, we at GayPatriot determined to honor those blogresses who have earned our respect.

Hence this competition.

Nominees need not be conservative. As I wrote last year in announcing the nominees:

Some are libertarian. And others, while more centrist, distinguish themselves by their iconoclasm and the manner in which they take on the silliness of certain leftists — and conservative pretenders.

They are women, who, in the words of one of our last year’s nominees, “drive . . . liberals nuts.” And one way to command the respect of conservative gay men is for a woman to stand up against the angry, conservative-hating left.

Such bloggresses include: Ann Althouse, The Anchoress, Little Miss Attila, Tammy Bruce, Wizbang‘s Lorie Byrd, Dymphna of Gates of Vienna, e-Claire, Jane Galt of Asymmetrical Information, Townhall’s Mary Katharine Ham, Bridget Johnson of GOP Vixen, Sondra K of Knowledge is Power, Carol Platt Liebau, National Review Online‘s K-Lo (Kathryn Jean Lopez), Kate MacMillan of small dead animals, Michelle Malkin
neo-neo con, Betsy Newmark of Betsy’s Page, Pamela of Atlas Shrugs, Virginia Postrel of The Dynamist, Pat Santy, Debbie Schlussel, Alexandra von Maltzan of All Things Beautiful, Cathy Young.

If you would like to nominate a blogress, merely post a comment naming that strong woman and providing a link to her web-site. If you find a blogress in the list above whom you believe should be part of our competition, please second her.

Just after 9 PM 9PM Eastern Standard Time (6PM in the Pacific) on Sunday, December 9 at 9PM Eastern Standard Time (6PM in the West), Bruce and I will review the comments and select those to include in the first round of balloting, which will take place from December 10 until December 16. Those blogresses will the highest number of votes will compete in a run-off from December 17 until the 23rd so we may crown our diva in time for Christmas.

All nominees, by dint of the very nomination, are already divas. But, only one woman can become the Grande Conservative Blogress Diva.
