These are the men and women who really deserve our thanks this time of year.
I haven't given up on Thompson as a candidate, who knows, maybe he will surprise us in more ways than this ad.

(Peter's note - sorry if this is a double post):

AGJ, you are correct. These are the "real" heroes of the Christmas season.

Hubby and I had amassed over 100 teddy bears throughout our relationship (we bought them for each other after a fight - need I say more?). Through the US Army's "Toys for Tots" program, all those teddy bears are getting a new home for kids who've lost parents in Iraq or Afghanistan. One special bear in particular - one of my favorites - was to be given to a child who had no other presents from a parent.

So much for the myth of the "101st Keyboard Brigade." We ARE doing are part for the war effort.

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2008,
Peter H.

AGJ, thanks for showing us who the real heroes are at this Christmastime.

Hubby and I had at least 200 teddy bears we had saved up throughout our relationship (we gave each other teddy bears when we wanted to "make up" after a fight - go figure). We arranged for those toys to be distributed through the US Army's local "Toys for Tots" so that kids who had lost parents in Iraq or Afghanistan would have a merry Christmas.

Plus, I just got finished donating blood for the troops. For those who say the "101st Keyboard Division" doesn't do anything for the WOT, I say BAH HUMBUG!

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2008,
Peter Hughes
