Voters in the Nevada cauci for Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton. And a big win for both!
Romney (R) – 53% of the vote so far
Clinton (D) – 51% of the vote so far
Seems like a big loss to Obama, and the Hispanics in Nevada went to Clinton in droves.
And now it is on to South Carolina (just 2 miles away from me!) for tonight’s GOP primary results….
Stay tuned! (GO FRED, GO!)

Nevada’s delegates are proportional, so I don’t see 51-45% as a big loss for Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton will likely get 1 or 2 more delegates. Obama’s weakness among latino’s was not nearly as strong as Mrs. Clinton’s weakness among blacks. 83% of the black vote went for Obama! If he continues to deliver numbers like that, he’ll take most of the southern primaries where blacks account for much more of the democratic vote. The latino vote could be problematic in California for Mr. Obama.
UPDATE: Under the weighting rules of the Nevada caucus system, Obama will actually receive a delegate victory over Hillary Clinton. Obama will receive 13 delegates to the national convention, Hillary will receive 12.
Thus, Obama has won the Nevada Caucus. Hillary’s popular vote win, much like Mr. Gore’s in 2000, is a vanity victory only. This is an election about delegates.
Let me get this straight. A union and it’s union leadership endorses a candidate, Obama. And a majority of it’s membership votes for Mrs. Clinton. In a caucuss situation where you take a public stand and are ripe for ridicule and retrubution. Are unions finished or what? Whatever happened to union thuggery?
