I dont think that he is qualified for much of anything - but I know he's not qualified for this roll of " great peace maker".He should have his passport lifted. His comments regarding Israel are at least shocking. Apparently he does'nt know that the God of Israel never sleeps looking after his people. Carters comment was noted by god I'm sure.

Thanks Ted. I thought that was it.

At this point, Hamas is giving Carter legitimacy.

I must disagree, Sean.

The longer Jimmy Carter is alive, the more he reminds us that his negotiation skills were what allowed North Korea to continue their nuclear program while the United States agreed to do nothing to stop them -- aka the Clinton "Agreed Framework".

The longer Jimmy Carter is alive, the more he reminds us that the groups he is visiting now are the same ones sponsored by the government that Nancy Pelosi was endorsing as "peaceful" in 2007.

The longer Jimmy Carter is alive, the more Obama (and Clinton, as she tacks farther and farther leftward) will praise his diplomatic acumen and argue that the United States ought to do more about him.

Dead, Carter is a martyr. Alive, he's a constant reminder of the fecklessness of Democrat foreign policy and their willingness to support terrorist and anti-American groups rather than our staunchest allies.

"When you put the prestige of a former president of the United States in a meeting with one of its terrorist leaders, you’re giving it a legitimacy and currency it never had."

That is true, for every former President EXCEPT Carter. At this point, Hamas is giving Carter legitimacy.

It's moments like this that I completely understand Bush Derangement Syndrome. I seriously have irrational, circus-freak-crazy hatred for Jimmy Carter. Bad, terrible, awful things should happen to him.

Speaking of which, I saw an article the other day which I'm trying to find again. It was about how Hamas is constantly firing missiles in this town and you only have about 13 seconds to get to shelter. Can't think of the name of the town though. I think it starts with an S.

Does anybody else know?

Jimmy Carter is a disgrace, and a sad excuse for a human. "Habitat For Hamas" is his new thing now, apparently. Because he's about as humane as Hitler was. F*cking useless scumbag. Well, only useful as the idiot to the arabs, that is.

For a longtime I thought that Jimmy Carter -- the worst president to date in my lifetime -- truly believed he could significantly contribute to human rights and world peace but was misguided in how to go about it. But I've come to believe he meddles in foreign policy because he's an old fool whose giant ego craves the attention these forays give him -- no matter whether his country is damaged in the process.

The United States has laws that bar private citizens, even former presidents, from meddling in foreign policy. It's time Mr. Carter, Jesse Jackson, Sean Penn, et al, were held to account.

"prestige of a former president "

The prestige we have known historically exists in an inverse proportion to the political activity of the exPres once out of office. Bush pere never had a negative (public) word about Clinton. Clinton, of course, returned this ancient courtesy with bilious, ignorant and of course mendacious indictment. Carter's anti-semetic and ignorant screed of recent days shows his desire to eradicate the tradition of the quiet elder statesman, at least as would benefit a Republican or simple claims of humanity. I have little doubt that W will retire quietly and completely when his day comes. If he and we are forced to endure an Obama presidency you can be sure that he will adhere to this venerable tradition and thereby, perhaps, it will be restored bipartisanly. But don't count on it.
