I just got off the phone with a great friend and GayPatriot reader. He lives in the Philadelphia suburbs and, like many others in his state, went to vote earlier. Here is what he told me about his trip to vote today. I am paraphrasing our conversation….
So I went to the polls today and, as you know you get swarmed by these campaign workers. I wanted to quiet the Obama person quickly and thought of what to say.
I said: “I am a gun-toting, pro-life, devout Christian…. how will Senator Obama protect my Second Amendment rights?”
Bruce, I swear this is a quote of what the Obama volunteer said in response: “Now which Amendment is that one?
Well, I nearly strangled the bastard.
I doubled over in laughter…. then sighed at the stupidity and ignorance of basic Consitutional principles of the Obama supporter and millions of other Americans.
But why bother teaching the U.S. Constitution in public schools when all the evil in the world is “Bush’s Fault” ?

Pathetic!
I’m not in Pennsylvania but I had a similar experience earlier this year when the state in which I vote held its primary.
My son and I happened to drop by a local watering hole not long after a large Obama rally ended in a venue down the street. The place was full of young Obama supporters, many adorned in Obama08 tee shirts.
As the crowd thinned out and we got a table we took up a conversation with a group at the next table. It included two black females, one black male, two white females and two white males. I’m guessing they were all in college or at least of college age.
We said we were “undecided” and were curious about Obama. What had he accomplished that might impress me? Well, none of them had any idea. One white male did think Obama’s speech to the 2004 Democratic convention was an “achievement”. That was echoed by one of the black girls, who thought his oratory was an “achievement”. I then asked how Obama felt about a variety of issues. They had no idea where their rock star of a candidate stood on any issue I raised, although they all knew he would end the war in Iraq but none knew how he would do it.
Human lemmings, all of them!
I’m sure that those adoring fans and many thousands like them think it’s wrong to ask Obama questions that might give us some clues as to his judgment and character.
The largest challenge in America right now is our horrible education system. The latest High School drop out rates were a national embarassment. 75% of Detroit’s freshmen don’t graduate. 50% of most urban areas don’t graduate their freshmen. Most people walking amongst us are dummies. Can we have a President who makes their number one prioity to improve the actual “learning” of our young people. Not lower the class size, not raise the dollars per pupil, or raise the salaries of administratiors but TEACHING AND LEARNING! The reason so many Americans are ignorant of the importance of what we are doing in Iraq and the mid east is because our young people don’t know the history of communism and our fights against Germany Japan and others. They don’t know the founding fathers and their struggle to guarantee our rights to bear arms. They are ignorant. It’s sad. They are more apt to want a right to recycle vs a right to free speech or right to bear arms.
The reason for the rise of Obama mentioned in the first comment is the abysmal education system discussed in the second.
When you have a generation that has never had to work for anything, has been given whatever they wanted lest their fragile self-esteem be damaged, and has been taught to regurgitate ideological slogans rather than think, they are little more than cattle waiting to be led by charlatans like Obama to the slaughterhouse.

You’re right, but that’s why the liberals WANT to keep them ignorant. Otherwise, today’s democrat most likely wouldn’t stand a chance in an election. They have to keep the people ignorant and they have to pretend to be “regular Americans” when they’re not. They don’t DARE show the people who they really are. That’s why Snobama screwed the pooch in SF.
That’s why Democrats oppose school vouchers or school choice.
They are scared to death that their enslaved student class might escape from their ideological bondage.
I doubt most Americans could tell you what more than one or two of the Amendments are…quick…what does the 7th Amendment say?
Right to a jury trial of your peers.
One of the channels interviewed 5 Pennsylvania college students about why they were for Obama. The responses were just blather. No specifics and just inane generalities. I know that is what most of Baracks speaches are like, but if asked by a TV reporter, couldn’t you come up with, hey he wants to give us a $4,000 tuition credit or he wants to get out of Iraq immediately. None of the five students even said that. It was all like the MS America contestant. ” well Senator Obama is for change, real change and most USA Americans want to hope for some changes….” God help us.
“I am a gun-toting, pro-life, devout Christian…. how will Senator Obama protect my Second Amendment rights?â€
Ummm, you should have doubled over in laughter when the questioner included pro-life and devout Christian with the Second Amendment. The joke is on you.
