The tradition of praising your opponent especially in defeat is a worthy one. It is part of putting the nasty business of electioneering behind us. Red Ken is every bit the filthy worm he is made out to be but if half of London supported him, that is some 5 million of Her Majesty’s Citizens, give or take a scrum, and it is unwise and impolite to insult them. Uncivil, we could call it. This practice lets off the hook many a scoundrel and hoakum artist but sets the mob to rest a bit. Of course that is for politicians so; Red Ken Is Bollocks!

Just a few short years ago, the Tories were thought to be as good as dead, relegated to permanent minority statues by their own corruption, disconnect with the voters, and failure to put out an alternative vision for the country … much like Republicans are today.

You would have to watch the debate at the link I posted to really get my meaning..sorry I didnt consider how my comment would be viewed from outside the strict confines of how that debate illuminated the disaster the Ken Livingston was to London. How ken Livingston’s entire career has been one of being an apologist for terrorism as well as the denigration of his own culture.

I’m not sure you want to lump yourself with him.

That comment is so weird to me, my parents were immigrants to the states and I grew up totally American, I’ve spent all of my teen years in Israel and I still consider my self American. I vividly remember myself as a kid and if you asked me who I was I think the first thing out of my mouth would be “Jew” and the second would be “American”. So hearing him say that immigrants aren’t English kinda pisses me off, a) because it means he doesn’t even consider the possibility that those immigrants would eventually become “English” and hold English values and b) perhaps because they don’t

numeral: A UK blog asked Americans what they thought of Ken Livingstone.. so because i’m too lazy to type an original response to you, i’m going tio copy and paste the comment I made to the other blog here:

I live in Chicago and I watched a webcast of a forum/debate in London sponsered by the city government it was called something like “Is there a Clash of Civilization” There were two teams… on one side was Red Ken and a nasty Muslim woman named Youqoob or something from the Respect party. Ken was stating how wonderful it was that so few English actually lived in the city and celebrated that so many immigrants make up the city. It was truely disgusting.

On the other side was Daniel Pipes and Douglas Murray… Douglas was an awesome speaker.. that was the first time I every heard of him.. He destroyed Ken.

I could never support a communist jihad-sympathizing traitor like Ken and it saddens me that so many British people have.
