Best Celebrity Endorsement Ever.

Although I completely disagree with Tom Hanks’ endorsement of Barack Obama, I do applaud his maturity, humor and historical context for doing so. If only more Hollywood types would thoughtfully do the same, then perhaps they would be relevant again in our world.

Bravo, Tom Hanks!

  1. Sorry. Tom lost me with his reference to the 3/5 compromise (implicit reference to Obama’s race).

    I don’t think voting for Obama to “make history” is rational. We should vote for the best man/woman for the job. Race has nothing to do with it.

  2. Sooooo…….Tom supports Barack merely because he’s black. Guess he needed to stretch it out a few minutes.

    And if he really knew his history, he’d know better about the 3/5 compromise. Guess you can’t blame him, though, since that’s what we’re supposed to believe.

  3. Hi my name is Tom Hanks and I’m voting for Barack Obama because he’s black. But I’m not only voting for him because he’s black, I’m voting for him because of the exceptional character he has shown by tacitly approving of Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s hate and Bill Ayers’ terrorism for 20 years — otherwise known as “gaffes”.

    Despite having the most partisan voting record in the Senate, his dishonest demagoguery of Republicans, and promising to rescind every executive order President Bush has ever signed on his very first day, he has the integrity to unify us! just like FDR, Harry Truman, John F Kennedy and I suppose even that Reagan guy we all hated.

    I want the President to embody the America I have been waiting for…one where leaders are all marxist demagogic liberals I agree with, because everyone else is basing policy on lies.

    I read history for pleasure. As you may have guessed, my reading comprehension skills aren’t the best. Thats why this November I want Barack Obama!
