GayPatriot Endorsement:
Patti Patton-Baden for America’s Favorite Mom
Patti Patton-Baden for America’s Favorite Mom
Because neither the PatriotMomWest nor the PatriotMom qualifies for the military mom’s category, we have to choose an another mother to be “America’s Favorite Mom.” Therefore, we join other bloggers in supporting Patti Patton-Baden, founder of Soldier’s Angels, for American’s Favorite Mom in NBC’s contest.
Click here to vote for Patti Patton-Baden.
As you may know, Mrs. Patton-Baden, the great-niece of World War II General George S. Patton, Jr.. has two sons who had been deployed to Iraq. Her youngest son currently serves while her eldest was deployed there in 2003-04. To help bring comfort to men and women like her own children who risk their lives for the nation we love, she established Soldiers’ Angels to send care packages and letters to our troops.
Today, you can honor her work on behalf of our servicemen and women by voting for Patti Patton-Baden for America’s Favorite Mom in the military Moms category.
And every day, you can support her great group by making a donation here.

Very surprised that NBC, the most leftist of the networks, would aalow a category to honor a military mom.

…or by becoming a soldier’s angel! Writing and/or sending care packages to soldiers who for one reason or another don’t get any mail from home. They have many other ways you can help too.

I do NOT recommend giving any money to Soldiers’ Angels.
A year or two ago, I did so on the recommendation of this blog. The amount of “fundraising crap” I have gotten back from them is hard to believe. I’m not talking about the ordinary endless letters that most groups send, but more expensive, gimmicky “gifts” that clearly don’t represent a good use of the money I sent. The latest is a 100% stupid and unnecessary 11″ by 3″ plastic tube, with an American flag I didn’t ask need or request, but now have to dispose of. (Because you can’t just throw an American flag in the trash, right? Or can you?) I will not be donating to them again. I have donated to other soldiers’ organizations that, if the amount of garbage they send back my way is any indication, clearly put the money to far better use than “Soldiers’ Angels”.

Oh and P.S, it isn’t just Soldiers’ Angels junk mail, but a deluge from other groups they sold my name to. I know because they made a particular spelling error with my name. (I watched a deluge roll in from a bunch of other groups after that, all having the same error.)
