Could Rezko Save Hillary?

May 8, 2008 by GayPatriotWest

Shortly after posting my piece where I put forward my belief that the race for the Democratic presidential nomination is over, I perused the blogs to read what others were saying about the state of the campaign.

Hugh wrote he didn’t expect Hillary “to bail, at least not until the final primaries are held and the Tony Rezko trial verdict in. (Final arguments open Monday.)” He observed:

. . . if Rezko is convicted and is facing a long stretch in jail, won’t he have to think long and hard about naming names in order to limit his years in federal prison? Clearly Rezko and Obama are close. That’s a huge potential nightmare for the Dems, and Team Hillary won’t be shy about underscoring the dangers of an unfolding scandal consuming Chicago politics.

While it may be a little far-fetched, it’s still within the realm of possibility that Rezko has some damaging information on the likely Democratic ominee. Perhaps, Hillary is clinging to this as her last best hope to return to the White House.

Just as some lefty bloggers assumed Scooter Libby would implicate the Vice President, some in the Hillary camp may well be hoping that Rezko implicates Obama.

What a delicious irony that would be, if some scandal brings Obama’s presidential bid to a halt and puts Hillary on the path to the White House when numerous scandals failed to prevent her husband from getting there and failed to evict him from that prestigious property before his lease was up.

Nah. Libs don’t mind that stuff.
Crooked ties to Rezko would only enhance his resume. I suspect that liberals want “fresh” crooks like Snoboma instead of the old Clinton-leone mob.

Either way, I suspect Howard “George Wallace” Dean will be sent packing back to lilly white land.

I think after the Clinton years, everyone is a bit numb to the occasional crook being linked to a presidential political figure. Besides, we get much more worked up over National Enquirer type sex stuff. Money laundering is so, well, complicated and boring…

    Nah.

Senator Clinton needs to stay in the race in order to retire some of her debt. You can’t trick people into giving money to a faltering campaign if you aren’t even campaigning.

judge st eve and patrick fitzgerald were appointed by republicans, now we see a pattern is developing as far as the presidency is concerned that goes like this…bush, clinton, bush, clinton. obama or mccain will disrupt that pattern, so president bush has a powerful leverage with the judge and the prosecuter and i bet will try to derail obama’s nomination so that the pattern of bush and clinton, bush and clinton is not disrupted. i love politics…

#4 – Uh, Georgie Girl, explain to us all WHY President Bush would even give a rat’s rear end about trying to derail Obama’s nomination, let alone having Clinton becoming the DNC standard-bearer. He is a lame duck. He cannot run again. He will leave office.

Sounds like you have BDS on the brain, dear. Either that or you are a seagull poster – you know, the kind that swoops in, squawks a bit, poops and then leaves for others to clean up the mess.

In other late-breaking news, the press corps is having a collective Obamagasm. How much shallower can the MSM get?

    Regards,
    Peter H.
