If Obama had any guts . . .
. . . he’d reject this endorsement.

Are you kidding? Pussama’s running for Carter’s second term. Obviously he wants to be the worst president ever.

Why?? Sorry don’t get it…

Carter sure showed a lot of backbone to jump on the bandwagon…after Obama already had enough delegates to win the nomination.
If I were Obama I’d ignore Carter.
I’m personally more concerned that the likes of George Soros, Markos, David Brock, John Aravosis, Keith Oberman and others on the far left were on that bandwagon long before Obama became a sure thing. The fact that they found something in Obama to root for scares the bejesus out of me.

And I thought I was going to be the first one to question why he would reject this endorsement! He’ll wear it like a badge of honor. Birds of a feather, right?
Comment by LesbianNeoCon — June 3, 2008 @ 7:45 pm - June 3, 2008
I hope he happily accepts the endorsement. Who knows maybe that will open a few more eyes to who Obama really is.
Comment by Leah — June 3, 2008 @ 8:02 pm - June 3, 2008
Oh he will accept it…until Carter does something else stupid then he will reject it and act like he never heard of him.
Comment by Darkeyedresolve — June 3, 2008 @ 8:09 pm - June 3, 2008
Obama doesn’t need to decline Jimmy Carter’s endorsement because 80% of Americans don’t know his horrific record. For educational purposes, the media any time they mention James Earl Carter should educate Americans of his regime. It wouldn’t take more than two lines and a picture. List the “misery index” during his administration, unemployment, inflation, and interest rates. (6%, 10% &20%= the amazing 36%). Triple today’ s misery index. And the picture…..the blindfolded American hostages held by Iran.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — June 3, 2008 @ 10:01 pm - June 3, 2008
Nah. Carter will do/say something stupid, the Obamaniacs will call anyone who questions it racist and wail over and over again that he should not be held to the guilt by association standard, the colossal pussy will feel slighted and make a lame-ass speech about how everybody’s distracted from the Hope for some Change left in their pockets after his gang rape of America, and his toadies will find something completely unrelated with Republicans and point fingers to distract their stupid and gullible supporters.
It’s the same song, different verse. It’s old as hell now and will be much worse after 4 years.
Comment by ThatGayConservative — June 3, 2008 @ 10:01 pm - June 3, 2008
I was going to say, reject it? Obama has half the Carter administration on his payroll advising him!
Comment by American Elephant — June 4, 2008 @ 12:22 am - June 4, 2008
And if John McCain wanted to win the presidency, he’d reject the endorsement of our current President, the lovable Mr. 28%.

I love when minorities , like bitter gay Leftists, make an appeal to an opinion poll’s result in order to derive something’s appropiateness.
Erik: should we apply your standard to everything?

Oh, Vince and VtheK, I remember the Carter years as “The Wonder Years!”
I was only 34 when the Carter years began and had just finished being the personal friend of every previous president since Rutherford B. Hayes. I worked hard to get Ford reelected, but he single-handedly refused my advice as he was determined to be defeated. Ronald Reagan asked me time and again to help him get the nomination, but I just told him that it was not yet time. I alone understood that the Carter wonder years would create the Reagan Revolution.
I knew Jimmy to be a decent man as he was always going out of his way to shine my shoes and send me his private stock of peanuts. He asked me up to Camp David to sit in on the peace talks and I remember eating kosher ham and shell fish with the Israeli delegation. Sadat was very witty and let me wear his hat. I called it the Sadat hat. (Clever, eh?)
When the embassy was taken, I asked my good friend Ross Perot to sneak over there and free his people from prison. He did and I was always glad to have been the catalyst for his heroic actions.
I give my blessings to a Carter endorsement of Obama. Hopefully, they will take the other advise I will be send their way.
Well, my person has brought my Rockports around and I must get back to tasks at hand.

#10 Hmm I’m wondering if Barack should refuse the endorsement of Pelosi and Reid, thems of the 19% approval of this Democrat Congress? Oh that’s right Obama is a major player in this Democrat “do nothing “Congress.

Obama accomplishments? Let’s see.
1. Spent 20 years in a church without realizing the pastor was a ranting racist loon. (A fact the rest of America figured out in under two minutes.)
2. Was elected to the Senate because a better qualified Republican had to drop out after a scandal revealed he may have had sex with his own wife (7 of 9) and was replaced by a carpet-bagging nutter.
3. While in the senate, got a $3 million dollar earmark for the hospital his bitter, spoiled wife was employed at.
4. At some point may have purchased Arugula at Whole Paycheck and later whined about the price.
5. Got a sweet real estate deal from a sleazy developer.
… not that those are accomplishments I’d be proud of. I’d be willing to bet there are people on tis blog who’ve led more meaningful lives.

Oh, V the K, you racist, you.
Awesome video. I came across this late, and initially thought the title of this thread meant “If Obama had any guts, he’d run this campaign ad.”

Vince – Hey, if you don’t like the advice, no problemo! I’ll be thrilled if John McCain campaigns on a platform of extending George Bush’s policies for another 4 years. Heck, I hope the President gets out there and starts barnstorming across the country for McCain ASAP.
Sadly, the White House (and the rest of the world) sees reality a bit differently than you, which is why Dana Perino repeats “George Bush will not be on the ballot” ad nauseum to the White House press corp nearly every day.
But hope springs eternal! I think Bush has too much of an ego to let the story not be about him. Come the fall, George Bush is going to be the Democrats best advocate.
Comment by Erik — June 5, 2008 @ 3:08 am - June 5, 2008
OH! Let’s please not forget that in two of Obama’s campaign’s the divorce records of his opponents were ordered unsealed and made public in highly unorthodox decisions by judges in the notoriously corrupt Chicago.
Comment by American Elephant — June 5, 2008 @ 4:58 am - June 5, 2008
And, actually, Hussein’s record of zero accomplishments should be encouraging to anyone who loves freedom. Yes, Obama is a hard-core Marxist-Leninist. But if we’re going to have one of those as president, better a dim-witted naif who has accomplished nothing. The damage to the Republic will be less than it would be under a competent Marxist-Leninist.
Comment by V the K — June 5, 2008 @ 5:16 am - June 5, 2008
Are you sane? Bush is quite content to let other people say whatever they want about him, no matter if it’s true or not. My guess is he will allow future historians to make an honest appraisal , and that he thinks the people’s opionion of him today will be forgotton over time (if there’s a long-term reappraisal)
Wow, that’s insightful! Democrats hate Bush and will use everything he says against him.. Duh,… you thnk?

Obama would have a really grand first 100 days. All the libs in Congress would streamline his proposals and his executive orders would be constant news. But then the jackal side of Congress would come out. First they would scavange for the small things. Being accustomed to attacking at night and able to sustain extended periods of speed and stealth, they would strike before Obama’s slow witted cadre could understand what was at play. These Congressmen are very territorial and usually hunt alone or in pairs, but they will form packs when there is enough pork to pass around. Soon enough, Obama would discover that he has lost control of his agenda and has become the victim of “partisan politics” from his very own party.
A Congressional feeding frenzy is no place to learn table manners. Obama would use his “Bully Pulpit” to throw his bull around and fuss and fume and the Congress would agree and amplify and adopt the rhetoric while continuing to strip the carcass without missing a beat or shifting an inch.
As the Reverend Wright would say: “The …. chickens …… have …….. come …… home ….. to ….. roost!”
Jimmuh Carter chose to have no relations with his Congress and they pretty much returned the favor. Obama would think he was the President, Majority Leader and Speaker all wrapped up into one. And then, he would get the clear message that HE is THEIR whore.

heliotrope, I love your writing. Small note: in the present case, you and others are assuming Obama is more dumb than corrupt. I am beginning to think he is quite intelligent – and corrupt. He and Michelle know how much people will let them get away with. Here he is, on the verge of being President. Perhaps he is the wolf who will eat Congress for lunch.

A typical example is Obama’s latest spin that he does not take money from lobbyists and that the DNC will not take money from lobbyists.
However, he DOES take immense sums from their spouses and families and from lobbyists who don’t lobby the FEDERAL government (his excuse for his relationship with Rezko).
Granted, we’re dealing with someone who doesn’t think his wife’s 300% pay increase immediately following his election was abnormal, plus a party that didn’t see anything unusual about illiterate immigrant Chinese busboys donating thousands of dollars.
Why should Democrats worry? They just launder the money through other people, and their shills like Erik let it go.

ILC, I don’t think Obama is slow, but I do think his street smarts in the Washington shark pool are not well honed. He seems to have had a lot of green lights in his rise to fame and wonder. He violates the first rule of swimming with sharks: if bitten, do not bleed.

Obama has simply realized that the vast majority of liberals are brainwashed to the point where they are simply incapable of criticizing a black man for anything.
And, like any good huckster, he’s taking advantage of the fact. After all, look at Trinity Church; Reverend Wright did not become a multimillionaire without a few hundred rich white liberals who loved being called “racists” every Sunday from the pulpit. Obama knows that liberal whites are so self-loathing that they will allow someone like him to pick their pockets while insulting them the entire time.
