Some of Hillary Clinton’s die-hard supporters are plotting to stop Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention, or more realistically, at the polls in November.
Though Clinton folded her campaign last Saturday and endorsed Obama, a few Hillary activists still hope to somehow convince superdelegates to award her the nomination at the Aug. 25-28 convention in Denver.
Others want a Clinton write-in campaign for the November ballot. Some plan to sit the election out. And then there are those now behind Republican John McCain.
Will Bower, an ardent Clinton supporter and co-founder of PUMA, which stands for “Party Unity My A–,” recently helped launch Just Say No Deal, a coalition of 80 groups nationwide dedicated to defeating Obama.
Bower, 36, of Washington, said he still harbors some hope Obama won’t officially be crowned the nominee in Denver, but, meanwhile, he’s urging voters to back McCain.
“We have almost three months until convention – and it’s been a crazy political season as it is – and who knows what will be revealed,” Bower said. “Come convention, the Democratic Party may be like, ‘Oh, my God! We have to have Hillary!'” […] (New York Daily News)
Is it wrong to take so much pleasure from the Democrat in-fighting? But wait! The delicious schadenfreude gets even better when you read some of the comments posted by very unhappy Clintonistas and other p.o.’ed Democrats:
Count us in the growing Nobama Movement… hillaryvotersformccain.com hillaryvotersformccain.com/forum And MY e-mails are running 35 to 1 in favor of McCain over Obama! Hillary or McCain!! Nobama ’08
Posted by xbjllb on Jun 13, 2008 6:39 AMThe DNC is so corrupt. Now I hear they are moving to Chicago. Are you kidding me? Obama is not even officially nominated. What kind of arrogance is that? I’m not voting for OBAMA because we don’t need another inexperienced and unqualified president in our whitehouse. The last one tanked this country. Wake up people. Our country is in a big mess and we need someone with experience to get us out. Obama has his own agenda. Heck, he even created a New Democratic Party and calling it his. WTF?
Posted by rcarlson323@aol… on Jun 13, 2008 11:58 AMI never liked her or her husband…I would never vote for her or her husband they are phonies and opportunisits. However Obamans on this blog are hitting all time lows. Do you all realize that when you use the language yo do or accuse anyone who is’nt for Obama a racist you are doing your candidate a diservice. I despise the Clintons admire though disagree with Barack on issues..but what Obamans have done to this woman as a woman, or even as an opponenet is scary…you are like Nazis…oppose us and you are either a KKKer or a stupid, iron my shirts B i t ch ” sexist…If she runs against Obama she was attacked not on her record, or crediblity but for being Hillary… The gutter talk is amazing..Congrats Barack you have brought out the worst in people. Yesterday an old fool used language (his “stinkin a$$” sqwieled like a pig ” ) to describe McCain’s being held in prison with his body beaten in North Viet Nam. His war record is not what should elect him.. but the Obamans have lost it

Posted by antdel on Jun 13, 2008 7:33 AMClinton supporters don’t want a candidate that feels sorry to leave a church that is anti American and that preaches hatred and racial views that are cruel and nasty. They don’t want a candidate that is inexperienced. They don’t want a candidate that considers it a loss to not to be able to attend his anti American, racist Church. They don’t want a candidate that has a Muslim father. They don’t’ want a candidate that can’t win a debate They don’t’ want a candidate that misleads the youth with an ‘Obama girl and her behind in their face†They don’t want a candidate that says he’s an African American and missed the MLK Remembrance Day and the Louisiana Black Caucus meeting They don’t want a candidate that has done nothing for humanity except talk about it. They don’t’ want a candidate named; Barack Hussein Obama He scares them to death. He is embarrassing. He is unelectable.
Posted by America the Beautiful on Jun 13, 2008 8:15 AMWell, that should make Hillary ecstatic! Anyone that thinks Hill and Bill are not behind this effort is naive. She will do anything to damage Obama’s potential election in order to leave the path clear for her in 2012. She could care less about the Party or the electorate………. it’s all about and has always been all about Hillary and no one else. And, this is not the last we’ll see from this desparate harridan….. I’m sure she has other “tricks” up her dirty sleeve. Wait and see.
Posted by Rambling on Jun 13, 2008 8:25 AMPUMAs (disaffected voters) are coming out of the woodwork in force — FINALLY — to express their disapproval for not only Senator Obama and his thin resume — but for the whole damn corrupt process that ushered him into this “presumed” nomination — hopefully PUMAs continue to roar and expose the fractured democratic party for what it’s really made of ——— INDEPENDENTS & WOMEN WILL BE THE VOTING BLOC TO WIN OVER THIS NOVEMBER — and being both of those things – I am not just sour grapes — i an entire Napa Valley full of ’em!
Posted by princess_wears_… on Jun 13, 2008 8:28 AMBarack Obama is not my nominee – he will never be my President. He is not representative of the Democratic Party I know. He will NEVER get my vote. He is manipulative, self-serving, and truly does not espouse or support ideals core to our Democracy.
Posted by jimhFL on Jun 13, 2008 9:05 AMI’m in Puma and would have voted for most of the other dem candidates. I don’t want Bo in the whitehouse because he is reckless and unqualified.

Ya gotta luv that ‘spirit of tolerance’ liberals show… I never want to see That Woman even near the White House, but I do find myself in the strange position of being very grateful to her for injecting a bit of joy into this campaign. Well, joy for conservative voters at least. Forward to Denver and let the games begin!

OT, but a propos of some of the anti-Obama comments you included… The Obama campaign and its supporters seem to have the absolute lowest standards for truthfulness or clarity of thought that I can remember seeing from any campaign. Today’s example:
– Larry Johnson, a leftist and CLINTON supporter, spreads rumors of a controversial Michelle Obama tape (the alleged “whitey” tape).
– Conservative bloggers roundly advise each other to ignore the rumor and Johnson, noting that Johnson has a track record as a nut who spreads false rumors.
– The Obama campaign blames conservative bloggers for the Michelle/Whitey rumor. Obama supporters swallow.
Huh? Are they just dumb? Or intellectually irresponsble? Or malicious? Or some combination?
#2 – ILC, I vote for “all of the above” from that list.
Also, thank Operation Chaos for the continuing chaos in the DNC.
Let’s roll.

Hillary supporter’s Campaign of Spite champions the worst in women and exploits the weakness in the DNC. Looks like Rove is working overtime.
I saw this comment on a Zionist blog that I read, Israpundit:
