To accuse someone of hypocrisy is a bit on the ad hominem side. One attacks the person who failed to practice what he preached, but not the sermon.

Nonetheless, I’m still looking for anything Larry Craig said about bathroom sex prior to his arrest for same.

Imagine what would happen if both parties stopped apologizing for the crooks and liars on their own side of the aisle.

Tom DeLay is out of office, but William Jefferson still has his seat. Mark Foley was kicked out for sending text messages to interns, but Gerry Studds was re-elected by Democrats for years. Chris Dodd’s sweetheart mortgage deal doesn’t seem to be raising much in the way of criticism from fellow Democrats.

Don’t tell me there isn’t a double-standard.

American Elephant: I was on Alan Colmes blog mindlessly arguing with some idiot Leftist.. he was arguig with me about Islam.. about which he knew absolutely nothing but you know how that type is..they know everything .. even on things they know nothing about.

So I pointed out that since he knows nothing , he has no justification in saying that I was wrong.

I been studying it since 1998. Are you going to tell me I havenâ€™t? I run into this attitude from your ilk a lot. Itâ€™s almost as if you disparage people for reading about a topic.. or doing anything more than passively listening to the (inadequate) news.

I agree TGC, I think liberalism itself is rooted largely in transferrence. They think everyone else cheats because they cheat, they think everyone else sees only race when speaking of minorities because skin color is all they see. They think republicans “dont care” because they care only enough to vote for someone else to do something about it with other people’s money. and on and on.

#1, that’s why people who hate him are so frazzled. Hell, even in his Audacity book, Obama writes of him as an ordinary guy.

Today a woman made on off-hand remark that Republicans are idiots, then said that her husband is one. I told her I was one. She said, “You’re an idiot.” I feel sorry for her husband.

Although, there is the erosion of presidential powers, particularly in the FISA thingy. I had read where the Bush Administration was intent on taking back powers that Ford gave up, but it seems to me that they’re giving up more.

For a president who’s stupid and incompetent, and whose policies are so strongly opposed by the American people… he certainly seems to get his way with Congress more often than not. War funding… he got it. FISA … he got it. Farm Bill veto… not over-ridden. S-CHIP expansion to affluent middle class families… didn’t happen.
