I took a family to Dollar General yesterday afternoon. Their 70’s van is dead. They have a birthday to celebrate and they had put $20 together among the seven of them. My wife and I each had to drive a car to hold their numbers and size.

They had a real field day with their $20. Everyone consulted on everything and they were really excited about their shopping and finds. (Meanwhile, my wife went to the grocery store and got them a sheet cake.)

I really burn when elitists go after Wal-Mart and other “more for less” stores.

(This family is one of our hospital’s charity cases. They are sweet and well meaning, but none too bright. Now we have to get that Chevy van chugging again. But I know they can’t buy the gas.)

I’d be more than happy to go to a Walmart if there were one near by, If they have products that I would otherwise buy, I’m all for saving money.

And I think the whole liberal/Walmart thing has been hi-fricken-larious. They dislike Walmart because they were told to dislike Walmart by disingenuous unions trying to force Walmart to allow employees to organize. Such mindless robots!

The Target (pronouned “tar-GAY”) near our house is very new, very clean, very gay-friendly and generally OK, but it seems like lately their products are getting more shoddy yet more expensive. Go figure.

Wal-Mart has too many screaming kids and non-attentive parents of all colors (mostly Hispanics). I refuse to go there.

Lately we’ve gotten hooked on Bed Bath & Beyond for our household items. And for home decor I go to Hobby Lobby.

Target is clean, but I haven’t been in one since they kicked the Salvation Army off their property. I also don’t shop at CostCo because I don’t like their policy on using Eminent Domain to kick out private landowners. I know, I am a little nutty, but… once again… I don’t demand that *other people* become nutty.

I like Kohl’s. Clean stores, good selection of clothing, even though there never seems to be enough frakking check-out clerks working there to keep the lines moving.

We’re getting a Wal-Mart in neighboring Medford, Mass. I try to go into a Wal-Mart at least once a month, just to pi$$ off the liberals.

But, the ones up here in New England do tend to be filthy and smelly.

And they can never compare to my favorite — Target!

I don’t like Wal-Mart, so I don’t shop there. That is how a conservative operates.

Liberals who don’t like Wal-Mart try to make it so that no one else is allowed to shop there. The presence of a Wal-Mart would only improve some of the inner cities, but liberals would rather have trash-strewn lots, liquor stores, and tiny “neighborhood” groceries where low-income residents are obliged to pay airport-terminal prices. The left-wing Democrat government of Detroit has managed to drive every major grocery chain out of the city.

The Wal*Marts I’ve been in in the Chicago area are messy wrecks of a store.
