Your travel experience is extremely valuable to other PLWHA

Sometimes the official information about HIV travel restrictions differs from the reality discovered by positive travelers. Recently a good friend told me that she applied for residence in Poland and she didnt have to undergo a medical testing, contrary to the official specifications.

Please post your travel experiences in this blog( http://countries.bravejournal.com/ ) so we can have a clearer idea about positive traveling and help each other.

#8 - Herman, here's a reality check: Bush isn't running for prez again in 2008. Deal with it.

You libtards are going to be so empty in your pathetic lives after January 20, 2009. You won't have anyone to blame for your own shortcomings.

Regards,
Peter H.

Yes, but gays are known fo risky behavior. If you look at "gay tourism" info, you don't see landmarks, you see clubs where you can meet those people who like to rim strangers. And since it is a deadly disease, and even if it doesn't kill you it costs the TAXPAYER 60k/year in drugs, we don't need it here. Even some third world countries have the common sense to not allow the importation of new aids patients, why don't we?

Geez, didn’t you get the memo?

Nope. It's been over 10 years and I haven't gotten my membership package or any memorandums that followed. I still don't know why I should give a crap about Barbara Streisand or Judy Garland. Sure Judy was a great actress and singer, but that's about it.

but hepatitis and tuberculosis are bad?

Well, TB goes without saying since it can be transmitted by coughing or sneezing in the general vicinity of others. As far as Hep and HIV goes, you have to bleed on someone, rim someone, have unprotected sex with someone etc. You just can't ASSume that someone with either is going to come to this country for the express purposes of doing that.

What's more, if you engage in that kind of activity with a person without knowing their status, it's your own damn fault. That falls on your irrisponsibility and not on the government.

Ditto on smarty's question, especially when so many illegals are a drain on our healthcare system as it is.
I would also like to know why so many billions of dollars are taken from the taxpayer for AIDS? It is pretty much a preventable disease. If the gay community does not want to change it's behavior, then the gay community should use it's own money.

Wait, how is it good for the US to allow people with deadly communicable diseases to come here? Why is the "gay" disease OK, but hepatitis and tuberculosis are bad? Is this about pandering or public health?

Funny that Sen. John Kerry is sponsoring the repeal on travel by those with HIV status..and where was he when he supported banning same sex marriage at the state level in Massachussetts by way of constitutional amendment..and tried to explain that away "marriage is for procreation only" and between a man and a woman....now why hasn't he procreated with Teresa Heinz?

Clinton gave us incredilby damning and damaging legislation with DOMA, DADT and the HIV travel ban and it will take decades to undo the damage done by liberals.....

and yet like lambs to slaughter too many of our community keep backing those morons.....NObama gives us pretty lip service and conduct is damning and damaging to our community......and who said history doesn't repeat itself?

I have a 'precious' memory of attending a gay political event in the final year of the Clinton Administration, a jacket-and-tie dinner where a couple hundred people donated money to be there. The Clinton Administration sent some flunky to speak about how great they were for gays. The clapping was deathly sparse and chilly. Most people sat on their hands, then gave a roaring ovation to the next speaker to show what had been withheld from the Clinton speaker.

So, there was a time when gays understood that Clinton was bad. Too bad they've gone all nutty since then. Bush has actually been great for gays on AIDS budgets. On the downside, Bush did propose FMA/MPA - but with little serious backing and thankfully, they've gone nowhere thus far.
