I'm curious. Do you claim to believe that the CA Supreme Court ruling that created a right to SSM in CA was legitimate? IOW, do you believe that at some point in the past CA's voters actually had added a Consitutional Right to SSM?

If you do, well, then you're so dishonest that you're not worth discussing anything with.

If you don't, how do you justify putting yourself on the same side as those dishonest judges?

It would be one thing to oppose the Proposition if the Court had ruled honestly, which is to say if they hadn't created a "right" to SSM.. But how do you justify fighting to protect a clearly illegitimate assault on democracy?

Bravo Dan - great information. I'm very glad to see this. I completely agree that socially-moderate Republicans and independents may well be the deciding voters on this. I wish I were closer to the L.A. area to attend myself.

It will be very helpful to coalesce around some positive, conservative reasons for opposing Prop. 8. Arguments that might even work on my very conservative parents! ;)
