Hey Al Gore! Get Your Ass to Philadelphia!!

August 20, 2008 by GayPatriot

Holy sh– !! I just arrived in Philadelphia on a business trip and it is only 75 degrees!! 75 degrees in mid-August!

Forget Global Warming silliness, I am starting to wonder about global cooling.

Oh that’s right — fluctuations in weather aren’t called “weather” anymore.

Everything is now “climate change”.

UPDATE – Looks like I was onto something.  I just saw this article from Drudge:  Farmers’ Almanac says cold winter ahead. Â

Households worried about the high cost of keeping warm this winter will draw little comfort from the Farmers’ Almanac, which predicts below-average temperatures for most of the U.S.

“Numb’s the word,” says the 192-year-old publication, which claims an accuracy rate of 80 to 85 percent for its forecasts that are prepared two years in advance.

The almanac’s 2009 edition, which goes on sale Tuesday, says at least two-thirds of the country can expect colder than average temperatures, with only the Far West and Southeast in line for near-normal readings.

[Angered, Global Warming flings his black cape aside with disgust and puts a hex on the Farmers’ Almanac.]

So watch your favorite liberal suddenly viewing gas prices as being more important than the greening of America.  By the way, what is Al Gore’s accuracy rate?  Does anyone know?

GP right on the money again. In south Florida we finally got a tropical storm/hurricane. It has been a long time since Katrina/Wilma and we needed a good TS to break the 3 year drought Florida has been suffering. Yes the tropics depend on tropical storms and hurricanes. If you see Mr Gore please pass that along.

Amen. Here in mid-America I had to put on a blanket last night and turn on a heater in the bathroom to take a shower this morning. This is late September weather — 50s at night and 70s in the daytime.

But I can’t complain; sure cuts the air-conditioning bills.

The good news is…if we are really entering a period of extended global cooling…..we now know how to warm it up. Just run the lawn mower round and round, and throw another steak on the bar b que. Presto chango. I feel so empowered knowing that we all can change the weather and the climate.

michael, what don’t you understand…..the burning of fossel fuels by man has been going on for 60 years max. All of the earths ice ages and numerous global warming spurts have occured before that time. Some scientists now believe we are entering an extended period of GLOBAL COOLING. How can that be? Simple. Mankind has little to do with climate change. We can be responsible in the burning of fossel fuels yet remember that oil, gasoline, refrigeration, engines, hydrolics, global trade are some of the main reasons advanced modern civilizations are not scraping in the dirt to survive hand to mouth. Listening to leftists you would think they wished us all back to the stone age living like Barack’s half brother on a $1 a month. I’ve yet to get an answer from a global warming alarmist to explain why Mars is warming a couple degrees at the same time earth is. Could it be…….wait for it………the sun?

  12. Robert says

    August 21, 2008 at 12:32 am - August 21, 2008

Speaking of “dumbing down”, it appears that michael stayed home the day that capitalization was discussed. He was left behind.

But… seeing as how Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, it’s not likely that the climate has been constant until the invention of the internal combustion engine (see #9, above). It’s a planet, not an indoor shopping mall.

And, Michael, I will venture a guess that I do know more about chemistry and physics than many of the GW faithful.

Human activity has an impact on climate. The point of debate is the magnitude of this impact. Human activities emit various gases but so does nature: termites in Africa (mostly untouched by western development) emit tons of methane; volcanoes emit all sorts of nasty gases (chlorine, sulfur oxides); and so on.

Last I heard, climate models are conflicted on the effect clouds have on global temperatures (i.e. assuming that the planet it warming, we don’t know if the warming increases or decreases cloud cover nor do we know if cloud cover cools the planet (albedo) or warms the planet (greenhouse effect).

And then there’s that big ball of fire 93 millions miles away that is anything but a constant.

  13. V the K says

    August 21, 2008 at 5:26 am - August 21, 2008

Robert, one more thing you left out. The GW computer models that have been used to predict apocalyptic Global Warming assumed an infinitely thick atmosphere. They did not account for the fact that the Earth radiates heat into space.

Because of that error, and because of variations in solar activity, the models do not corroborate with what observation is telling us. The Earth’s mean global temperature has been declining since 1998. The Earth is cooling, not warming.

A lot of people were duped by the propaganda. But Al Gore got rich and never had to give up his Gulfstream jets. Suckers.

Didn’t anyone ever who bought into the hypothesis that the Earth had one perfect ideal temperature find it weird that this ideal temperature existed only during the youth of the baby-boomers?

  14. American Elephant says

    August 21, 2008 at 6:32 am - August 21, 2008

Just to emphasize what V the K said, the computer models used by the IPCC, al Gore, and the rest of the global-warm-mongers cannot even accurately predict present climate conditions given known historical data. They are a farce!

Thats why they are in such a damned hurry to socialize everything, why their predictions grow increasingly dire — they know they have a limited time before it becomes clear to the public that global warming is a crock.

And yes, the Earth has been cooling, not warming over the last decade. This past year, the global temperature has been the coldest on record since the turn of the twentieth century. But I like to put it this way:

    BUSH SOLVED GLOBAL WARMING!

  15. heliotrope says

    August 21, 2008 at 9:29 am - August 21, 2008

Global Warming is a fact that can not be disputed. It happens when the global temperature rises. Global Cooling is a fact that can not be disputed. It happens when the global temperature declines.

What causes global warming? Well, first, you must cook your hamburger to at least 140 degrees inside temperature. This kills bad bugs hiding inside. The combination of prolonged hamburger cooking and the methane released by little bad bug bodies decomposing causes solar flares and an increase in butterfly flapping in Africa. You can look it up.

Do you eat only local organic foods.
Do you only wear locally grown and spun cotton clothing.
Do you disdain any and all A/C.
Do you read by candlelight instead of using electricity.
Have you contributed to wind and solar research.
Do you cut your lawn with a sythe instead of a lawn mower.
Do you use an outhouse instead of a water closet.
I’m sure the GP gang has other suggestions for leftists who want to lower their carbon footprint. That way us conservatives will continue to prosper while lefties live like tribesmen in the outback.

  45. North Dallas Thirty says

    August 22, 2008 at 12:11 pm - August 22, 2008

There are at least three things wrong with that hypothesis.

    1) You have no measurements from 600,000 years ago.

    2) You assume that global climate is entirely stable and predictable.

    3) You state that solar output is fixed and not in the least bit variable.

And this is assuming you even know what “atmospheric carbon dynamic” is or means.

Meamnwhile, michael, you haven’t answered why Al Gore was inside haranguing people about driving SUVs and large cars and leaving them idling unnecessarily…..while outside, his fleet of both was doing exactly that.

  46. heliotrope says

    August 22, 2008 at 12:54 pm - August 22, 2008

michael, Greenland could be circumnavigated in the 15th century and was home to a sizable sheep raising population who lived in communities now buried under ice. Recently, a silver mining operation from the middle ages was exposed under a receding glacier in Switzerland.

The poor rice farmers of Bali were smacked with a double whammy in the late 1970’s. Rice was a valued single harvest crop until the green revolution brought them a strong strain that can be harvested twice a year. Now, they can hardly afford to raise it because of the rice market glut.

A super volcano near (or possibly even) Krakatoa blew in 535 a.d. and threw the world into biological and human chaos for a century.

And you think that “global warming” or cooling is man made and something new? How arrogant of you and your Gorebot friends.

  47. ILoveCapitalism says

    August 22, 2008 at 1:04 pm - August 22, 2008

the current atomospheric carbon dynamic has no parallel for the last 600,000 years

And there you have it, folks. Ignorance in action!

    – The “current atmospheric carbon dynamic” is, in fact, CONTRARY to that predicted by AGW theory. AGW predicts that heat and carbon should be showing up in layer or dynamic X of the atmosphere; it hasn’t been. AGW scienticians refuse to admit the obvious, namely, that their theory is wrong and global warming has a different cause, a cause like, oh, the Sun.

    – In the geological record, not only for the past 600,000 years but the past 600,000,000, atmospheric carbon changes have always *followed* atmospheric temperature changes. Not led – Followed. Again because of the obvious: CO2 doesn’t cause global warming. Sun cycles cause warming, then warming causes oceanic outgassing of CO2.

But hey – if Al Gore (who got these matters way, way wrong) is your source of information, then you’re gonna be ignorant. So let’s not blame michael.

  48. ILoveCapitalism says

the current atomospheric carbon dynamic has no parallel for the last 600,000 years

    Ignorance in action!

    – The current atmospheric carbon dynamic is, in fact, contrary to that predicted by AGW theory. Temperature changes (such as they are) have been showing up in the wrong places.

    – In the last 600,000 years, by the geological record, the Earth has at times been rather warmer than it is now. We still haven’t even reached the level of the Medieval Climate Optimum, as heliotrope brings out.

    – In the last 600,000,000 years, CO2 has never caused warming. It *follows* warming. Sun cycles cause warming (or cooling) which then affects oceanic outgassing of CO2. Al Gore got it way, way wrong.

But if Al is your source of information, of course you’ll be ignorant. So let’s not blame michael too much.

I know the Earth is 4 billion years old, but a serious question, does anyone know when documenting temperatures actually starts to make sense. For example today we have accurate digital thermometers that are very accurate. How far back can you safely go before the comparisons fall to pieces? Did they have a way to measure ambient air temps for example 2000 years ago? My point is of course that the GW nutts are saying our temps are up almost 2 degrees in the past 100 years. I’ve always wondered how they documented temps 100 or 1000 years ago. As you know some of the temp measuring stations TODAY have been found to be in fenced in cages on ashpalt lots, next to A/C exhaust ducts, etc.

    Gene in Pennsylvania,

There are little temperature molecules, measured in Gorems which are trapped in ice cores and reveal highly accurate readings when exposed to exotic computer analysis. Naturally, the Gorem escapes in the process and adds to global warming, so mostly, scientists depend on a consensus of what the most useful temperature reading would be for proving their theories.

If you put an ice cube in a glass and pour hot tea over it, you can actually hear the Gorems escaping. They have such power, that under certain conditions, they can occasionally break the glass. You can look it up.

    Wow,

When given facts, michael replies with ignorance and insults.

And people say I’m bitter and cling to my religion?

Unlike Global Warming, there is actual proof the Holocaust happened.

O-o-o-o-o-o-h!!!!!!! michael, you really stepped in it this time. If you intend to find equivalency between the Nazi/Russian holocaust visited upon Jews, homosexuals, mental incompetents, Gypsies, etc. and the concept of man made global warming being promoted by an amorphous blob of scientists who form a “consensus” ……….. you have really gone over the edge.

I will pass over the idiotic claim that you have ever tried to have a “chat” on this blog. No, I won’t. You don’t know how to chat. You only know how to float turds in a punchbowl.

But now, you have imagined in your alleged mind that those who see the chicken little hoax in man made global warming and the “end of days” are blindly denying the concrete evidence that the world is collapsing.

How about you keep genocide out of this discussion, unless you have information direct from Smersh and Chaos to the contrary.

More name-calling from you, michael. Truly, you’ve got nothing. Pathetic!!!

P.S. Since michael is now reduced to claims that people are essentially Jew-slaughtering Nazis if they won’t buy his anti-scientific religious beliefs, I declare victory under Godwin’s Law.

My comment, now in the spam filter or the ether, skewered poor, lame michael for trying to pawn equivalency between the Holocaust and Chicken Little man made global warming pseudo religion off on us.

He also claims to come here to “chat.” He come here to float a turd in the punch bowl. michael should be the official “ethics advisor” for the Madonna road show. But he might not be able to come up to her standards of moral relevancy.

While michael goes back to HuffPo to find new names to call, northern Michigan gets a freeze warning… in August!

But it’s totally the Global Warming skeptics who are in denial.
