I see Dan has his hopes on MN Gov. Pawlenty.  (IMHO, that is a yawner.) But it just dawned on me that there might be a reason the announcement is in Dayton, Ohio today.
Did you know that the Colin Powell Leadership Academy — the only one in the country from what I can tell — is located in Dayton, Ohio?
Hmmmmm.
A McCain-Powell ticket would certainly hold much more experience and gravitas over Obama-Biden. And Colin Powell could run circles around Barack Obama as to living the “promise of America.”  Powell did it with hard work, blood, sweat and tears — not by the 2008 Democrat Party’s affirmative action program.
I know, I’m dreaming….

Bruce I will dream along with you until Noon when my hopes are dashed.
I don’t care how good the side of fries looks, I’m still not eating the turd sandwich.
Powell was rumored to be endorsing Obama a while back. I don’t think that ever happened.
Most reports say he’s picking Palin: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_mccain_veepstakes
Time to make history, folks. Women deserve a chance to be part of the executive office.
McMILF ’08!
Fox is announcing Palin.
CNBC is announcing Palin.
This is a very good move for McCain, if it holds up. It would give the average voter a reason to feel happy and proud about supporting the cranky old white guy. It would guarantee that Hillary’s diehard supporters in the primaries, probably 20% or more, won’t be voting Obama. If other things stay the same, i.e., no major surprises or failures from McCain-Palin, it gives them the election 9 weeks from now.
And regular NBC.
Huh? It gives them the election 9 weeks from now? What planet do you live on? Do you really think people wanted to vote Hillary just to put a woman in office? Does anybody remember Geraldine Ferraro? People don’t just want a woman (and I doubt they want the McMILF beauty queen), they wanted Hillary. I think McCain just gave the election to Obama.
