Strong Women

August 29, 2008 by GayPatriotWest

On Tuesday, August 26, a friend speculated I disliked Hillary Clinton because I fear strong women.

On Tuesday, November 4, I’ll be voting for just such a woman for Vice President of the United States.

I’m curious. What do you all think about the fact that Mrs. Palin has an infant that she knows will face special challenges and yet she has chosen to run for VP before he is even 1 year old?

Yeah. A clearer thinking woman would have demanded her child be stabbed in the head and his brain sucked out. Or if he survived a carve job, your Obamessiah would have approved of tossing him in a dirty storage room to die alone. Can’t do that to a puppy, but you sure as hell can do that with a human and declare it as your Constitutional right.

Guess your mother wasn’t thinking to clearly, eh????

What’s wrong? Her son doesn’t fit in with the left’s idea of a master race, Adolf?

BTW, what’s that magic number that determines overpopulation?

I’ll say it here and now, in the presence of God and all GP readers, you’re one sick sonofabitch, Michael.

Only sick, demented, vile liberals can possibly characterize Palin’s decision to have a Down’s-afflicted child as selfish. It would appear that the Palin pick was an even more astute choice than initially thought. She’s a solid conservative, PLUS she seems to have the effect of driving liberals so insane that they can’t help showing the rest of us how disgusting and useless they really are.

    As for this:

“apparently you can’t think more than ten minutes into the future.”

People like Michael pretend like they care about others by purportedly saving the world for “future generations” (a vaguely-defined group that he will never meet and will never have to make real sacrifices for), but he talks about people who actually exist (or exist in the womb) like disposable trash taking up space. And we are supposed to believe that these are the “good guys” who care about “freedom” and their “fellow man.” They don’t care about anything but their own liberal piety and narcissism. It’s pitiful.

Dan, I know you wanted Pawlenty. Thanks for ‘making the switch’ graciously. Palin is risky – because she almost seems too good to be true. McCain needs to take risks. McCain has done the right thing – provided she is as good as she seems. In a bit over 2 months, we’ll all know.

[Well said, Jeff. Yeah, I wanted Pawlenty, but she has impressed me so far. And she shows, as Andy McCarthy puts it, that McCain “does care about the future of the party” of our party. –Dan]

Comment#1…..I am stunned at such a comment. As has been said on another site, Queerty.com, we are close to being able to determine genetically if a child is Gay or str8..so let’s see, would you propose Gays be aborted to? The new Ayrian race..if that is your mind set and that of leftitst…..then the entire GLBT community will very well be pro life.

Governor Palin is a fighter, tough against corruption and clear eyed common sense approach to issues…..I am thrilled that McCain had the guts to pick Governor Palin and will match her experience against the community organizer who claims that qualifies him to be President……Governor Palin is way more qualified then the Domocratic candidate for President….I will be proud to cast my vote for McCain/Palin…your Ayran views shock me….and scare me beyond belief.

With comments like Michael’s…..that far scares me beyond belief. I read on Queerty.com that genetic research will be such that we will be able to tell if a child will be Gay or str8…let’s see by Michael’s Ayran standards…will it he be ok for those children to be aborted? let’s see then what you will say.

Governor Palin has far more experience then the community organizer will ever dream of…..I will be proud and then some to vote for McCain/Palin beyond belief.

Give em Hell Governor Palin and Senator McCain….I look forward to their Inaugartion..it will be a wonderful day for America!!

Well, patsies (and I type that affectionately), you may have a winner after all. Who would have thought that one year ago? Going into the primary season last December, I was as ever a proud liberal gay Democrat with fairly high certainty that the Democrats would reclaim the White House. And then the shitstorm hit and stayed for 6-8 months. Can’t tell you what it was like being a Clinton supporter amid the left blogosphere — other than to say, “brutal”. In sum: the Obama supporters proved to be every bit as nasty as I ever thought you guys were. Twas a shocker to learn some of the things you folks had to say about the left all these years were at least partially true. So, I give you credit for seeing some things I never did.

As you know, many Clinton supporters feel that the Dem nom was hijacked and as a result, some of those Clinton supporters are now low-hanging fruit (npi) for the McCain campaign. After McCain’s daring move in picking Sarah Palin as his VP, I think you’re going to pick up enough of those Clinton supporters to carry McCain over on Nov. 4th. You won’t get this particular Dem, for I’m a Yellow Dog — I’d skip the top line before encouraging the Right with a vote. But, you will get many of us and I believe enough to win this time.

So, enjoy the next two months and the good fight — and do keep it a good fight, avoiding dismissive attacks as much as you can (the Dems are now better at that crap anyway) and continuing to lay out the conservative case, which you’ve done well here in the past.

In parting, can we agree on a few things?

    1. You did help bring us The.Worst.President.Ever. Sorry, but you need to face up to that.

    2. Queer Patriot and Pussy Patriot were fun sockpuppets, at times.

    3. Tiffany morphed into That Gay Conservative.

    4. And that poster going by “michael” above is one sad piece of shit that I’d thought Bruce’s filters would have removed by now.

    Cheers guys/gals.

Apparently, there is a bit of a scramble on the left to try and find pictures of Sarah Palin in a bikini. Their theory is that once right-wing voters see a picture of a woman not wearing a petticoat and bustle (as, of course, all conservative women must wear at all times), we will march en masse to McCain headquarters with pitchforks and torches and demand the harlot be stoned to death.

    Or something like that.

See, michael may be an outlier on the left-wing continuum of viciousness and stupidity, but he’s not that far off the main sequence.

  26. V the K says

    August 30, 2008 at 10:22 am - August 30, 2008

It’s also worth noting that Sarah Palin won her election to governor fair and square, without embedding herself with a political machine, disqualifying her opponent’s petition signatures, or suing to uncover sordid details of her opponent’s personal life.

  33. heliotrope says

    August 30, 2008 at 11:58 am - August 30, 2008

The micheal comment is right on target. In his mind, Palin made the “choice” to have a “defective” baby. He cannot believe that a Down’s syndrome baby is a human being worthy of love, encouragement, joy and pride. At micheal’s SPCA model orphange, a Down’s syndrome baby has 30 days for adoption after which it is “destroyed.” But, unlike Palin, micheal has not so much as one shread of character that would cause him to take his beliefs to the political arena and fight for them. micheal is a cockroach who runs from the light.

I was stunned by Sarah Palin’s speech in Dayton when McCain introduced her to the other 49 states.

Palin is a clear thinking, hard working everyday American woman, wife, mother and friend who has taken on a the job of government leadership while fearlessly mucking out the stables of political corruption.

It was her speech pattern that first caught my attention. She has that “twang” of one who talks with ordinary people instead of the cadence of one who is practiced at reading carefully crafted rhetoric from a teleprompter.

Palin gives the true understanding of “community work.” I can only image the reception her community or any town in flyover country would give to a “professional community organizer” who moved into the neighborhood fresh from an Ivy League school and full of ideas about power politics.

Palin thoroughly scares the libs. They know that an authentic voice attached to a strong belief system and in concert with the Wal-Mart nation is far more powerful than their victimhood and government check mantra.

  34. heliotrope says

    August 30, 2008 at 12:13 pm - August 30, 2008

michael, the “pill” prevents fertilization. Ergo, no zygote.

But, in the spirit of your uninformed comment, how many sperm have you regularly spewed into usesless orifaces? Do you have the strength and character to be an attentive, loving, and dedicated father? If that is not your plan, what makes you more “needed” in your “overpopulated” world than Sarah Palin’s young baby? When yourgovernment brownshirts come for the “defective” babies, why wouldn’t you be one of them?

  37. Robert says

    August 30, 2008 at 12:38 pm - August 30, 2008

The libs must be tying themselves in knots to figure out how to deal with Palin (they will: scorched earth; politics of personal destruction – you know, the usual).

I certainly have no problem with strong women provided that they’re trustworthy and competent: the same standards I apply to men. Given the men I work for, a competent woman would be a godsend.

I’m not naive enough to think that Palin’s gender didn’t figure into McCain’s choice but I think it was a good one.

“I’m not naive enough to think that Palin’s gender didn’t figure into McCain’s choice but I think it was a good one.”

McCain’s move was definitely calculated and brilliantly so. Had he picked Romney or Huckabee or (God forbid) another Senator, it would have painted McCain into the ‘same old politics’ corner. While no VP selection is perfect, I must say that Palin was an excellent one. A non-elitist, mother of five and, most important, a doer.

Obama’s most substantial political decision in his career was his VP selection. Despite all of his chimings on about bringing change to Washington, he selects a Left wing, elitist senator who has been entrenched on Captiol Hill for over 3 decades.

Honestly, I can’t see how any analyst can see how McCain’s decision was a bad one. I don’t know a single conservative who is jumping ship because of Palin being on the VP ticket. Nor do I see anyone flocking to Obama bin Biden’s camp because of it.

if you are against abortion, then you have to be against it in all of its forms

Do you arrive at this fundamental “truth” because if you are for abortion you are for it in all of its forms?

The “pill” has above a 97% rate in preventing feritlization. Your zygote idiocy still stand. The morning after pill works as a zygote destroyer. (However, there is no way to know if fertilization ever took place.)

Clearly, you blame Palin for choosing to give birth to a “defective” baby. You couch this in some sort of belief that Palin is abusing the global ecosystem that is, in your mind, overpopulated with human beings. Do you cheer for the monsoons, tsunamis, racial genocide and AIDS that all work to decrease human “overpopulation”?

and if you are willing to dole out punishment for the occurence, you have to be willng punish cigarette smoker, less than squeaky clean reproductive tract women, diabetics, etc etc etc. you can’t have it both ways.

They have nothing to gain by attacking her. The PUMA’s (or is ‘Cougars?’) may not be impressed by the choice itself, but if they see a bunch of privileged males continually attacking and smearing a sister, they’re not going to be happy.

Sarah Palin is attractive and seems competent and smart, and I agree with her on some issues — and I am glad to see a woman who doesn’t toe the left-wing Nanny-state line. But she has less experience than Obama, and given McCain’s age and previous bouts with cancer, he owed it to his party and the nation to choose a more qualified candidate. I could not be more disappointed.

So… your answer is to put an EVEN LESS qualified person (Obama) IN the Presidency? Haha.

she has less experience than Obama

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzt. Wrong answer, Katia. Try again. Though Palin’s executive experience as Governor may be limited, Obama has…. none. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Palin currently commands troops (the ANG). Obama never has and, God willing, never will.

    Nonetheless, #46 Katia says:

I am an independent who was planning to vote for John McCain.

Now, I reversed the order of Katia’s logic, but it remains the same: Katia was going to vote for McCain’s choice for Vice President, because Katia expects McCain to croak.

If Palin’s “inexperience” is a deal breaker for Katia, what about Obama has sent her his way? Or is Katia going to sit the election out or write in Oliver Cromwell?

Why do people keep pulling this kind of lame pseudo logic? Do they really think that sentient beings are going have some sort of epiphany?

…listening to Obama supporters take to the airwaves to shriek with indignation about her lack of experience is just a little too rich. Where were they when Obama, two years into the Senate, announced his candidacy for president?

…I can’t help wondering if this is a trap. The McCain camp watched and learned as Obama supporters offended Hillary supporters by their treatment of her. The McCainiacs had to know that [Obama’s] group is incapable of behaving, that Palin would bring out their worst instincts.

Yup. “It’s a trap!” (In addition to being a Reform pick that McCain believes in genuinely.)

People like Katia are such a joke. I wish I had a dollar for every time one of these idiots comments something like this: “I am a life-long conservative Republican AND a veteran, but I will be voting for Obama because McCain’s resistance to the ideals of Karl Marx, his commitment to continuing the slaughter of peaceful Muslims, and his indefensible opposition to slavery reparations will be a disaster for this country.” Unbelievable.

I thought ILC might dispute my usage of “pathological.”

Here’s something kind of funny. The lefties are whacking Palin because she didn’t go to an Ivy League university.

Ironically, the Democratic platform states, “The Democratic Party clearly believes that … the opportunity to succeed in college must be the birthright of every child – not the privilege of the few.” But only the privileged few, it seems, will ever be allowed to have the only kind of education that Democrats think is worth anything.

Kirsten Powers is absolutely right. Obama’s problem was appealing to alienated Hillary supporters and middle Americans “clinging to their guns and religion.” So how does his campaign and the Left in general respond to the Palin pick? With draconian sexism and elitist dismissals of small-town Americans. Brilliant.

V, I know I might have hurt your feelings a little when I called out your mis-labelling of McCain as a “megalomaniac”… But jeez, now when you answer me, you speak of me as a third party? I had no idea I’d had hurt you THAT deeply. Sorry!

I wasn’t hurt by it, I was just trying to short-circuit any potential semantic argument. I’ve raised two teenagers. The emotional epidermis is pretty much Kevlar-strength at this point.

I just wanted to comment on Katia. Does anyone not believe Katia is a Moby? Or, do we credit the idea that she is switching her vote from McCain because his ticket includes an inexperienced person *might* become the presidency, and she would rather vote for an inexperienced person who *would definitely* become the president.

OK, why would there be one? I don’t understand. As I explained in the other thread, one sign that the haters of the Left (like Keith Olbermann) may well be a bit pathological, is that they are nutty enough to call mainstream-ish patriots like McCain “megalomaniac”.

Absolutely over the moon about the choice.

Does anyone know the details of her views on gays?

I know she’s against recognizing same-sex marriages, but that she vetoed a bill to deny benefits to same-sex partners of state employees.

That leaves a wide range of possible views. Do we have any other clues?

    Clint, this looks interesting:
    http://dwb.adn.com/news/politics/elections/governor06/story/8049298p-7942233c.html

    A few choice quotes:

Palin said she’s not out to judge anyone and has good friends who are gay, but that she supported the 1998 constitutional amendment [against gay marriage]. Elected officials can’t defy the court when it comes to how rights are applied, she said, but she would support a ballot question that would deny benefits to homosexual couples. “I believe that honoring the family structure is that important,” Palin said. She said she doesn’t know if people choose to be gay. Asked the same question, Murkowski [her Democratic opponent] said essentially the same: “I don’t know.”

I have a gay Republican buddy (I’m not a Republican) who says Palin is pro-civil union, which conflicts with the above. His info is usually good, so I will ask him how he got that.

    Another interesting tidbit, on marijuana:

Palin doesn’t support legalizing marijuana, worrying about the message it would send to her four kids. But when it comes to cracking down on drugs, she says methamphetamines are the greater threat and should have a higher priority. Palin said she has smoked marijuana — remember, it was legal under state law, she said, even if illegal under U.S. law — but says she didn’t like it and doesn’t smoke it now. “I can’t claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled.”

    Well, she’s down-to-earth.

P.S. Also worth noting, the quotes above are just before she was elected Governor. Obviously, she changed her views as Governor, enough to “veto a bill to deny benefits to same-sex partners of state employees”. So there’s hope. There have been more recent developments, I guess, and it would be great if someone else could chip in here.

Here is a backward way of addressing Palin and civil unions: I expect the MSM and the gay left to try to force her to take a stand. McCain will set the standard and Palin will stand with him.

I think McCain is predisposed to accept some form of civil unions for gays. The Christian right has hit him hard on civil unions, but he has not backed off. Since civil unions are a state issue, I would expect him to say that it is not a federal issue and he would defer to the people of the states.

McCain did say that if states were to drag the full faith and credit clause into play over gay marriage, then he would revisit (and support) a constitutional amendment on marriage.

I suspect that the gay left and the MSM will try to make this and abortion their top talking points. I also expect most undecided voters to be turned off by the efforts to put these two issues ahead of borders, immigration, terrorism, economy, etc.

    #38: re: “Troopergate”… there’s no there there.

The whole article is interesting but there’s this:

As the investigation got under way in 2005, Wooten was in the midst of a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister, Molly McCann. The couple was fighting over custody of their two young children. Accusations flew from both sides.

Troopers eventually investigated 13 issues and found four in which Wooten violated policy or broke the law or both:

    • Wooten used a Taser on his stepson.
    • He illegally shot a moose.
    • He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion.
    • He told others his father-in-law would “eat a f’ing lead bullet” if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce.

I’d almost kill for either picture.

I can’t wait to vote for her and McCain. I may even go to city hall and vote absentee.

First of all….Dick Cheney got it correct in 2000 when he debated and cleaned the clock of Joe Lieberman and again in 2004 against Edwards on the issue of civil unions..it is not a federal issue but one left up to the states to decide on a state by state issue.

Plus, Governor Palin and the MSM and leftists can’t deny this by her veto provided for domestic partnerships which the Legislature banned. She could have signed by the bill but consulted with the Alaska Attorney General and was told the legislation was unconstitutional..shock of shocks an Executive who makes sure laws are legal and doesn’t leave it to the Courts to decide……how refreshing…no wonder Liberals and the MSM leftists will scream.

As to the issue of abortion..when technology develops and you can determine if a child will be Gay or Str8..what will the liberals do then…..who are pro choice….will they some how find that they are pro life?

I mean give me a break…and to be shocked (the MSM is shocked some how that the Palins see their new born as a perfect child….and a gift from God…and will do all they can with their love as parents to help their child…that’s now shocking that is what people do!)

I love soon to be VP Sara Palin’s common sense no nonsense approach….its going to kill the libs that it took the GOP to elect the next Vice President of the United States and one day the first woman President of the United States….and her name is Sara Palin..not Hillary Clinton.

Oh noez! Troopergate! Palin was too hard on a child-tasering abusive threat-slinging scumbag.

Yes, slight “appearance of impropriety” in that Palin was related to the affected parties; but seriously, the man was a turd in human form. Palin did the right thing. But go ahead and run on the “Palin was too nice to wife beaters” platform. I’m sure McCain himself would donate to that PAC.
